NBC’s announcement of its upcoming fall 2025 primetime lineup confirmed the network’s renewed Brilliant Minds with Zachary Quinto and The Hunting Party starring Melissa Roxburgh. The two returning dramas join new episodes of the Chicago trio as well as Law & Order and Law & Order Svu on the network’s September/October 2025 lineup.

Following Brilliant Minds episode 13, the NBC TV show's first season has come to an end, meaning there won't be any more new episodes (for now). The medical drama series, created by Michael Grassi, is partly based on two of neurologist Oliver Sacks' nonfiction books — The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and An Anthropologist on Mars. Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as Dr. Oliver Wolf, an attending neurologist at Bronx General in New York. Dr. Wolf is quite gifted, eccentric, and defined by his unique approach to his work (which isn't too popular among some of his peers). The series begins with Quinto's character accepting a new job at Bronx General, where he leads a team of interns and takes on unusual and challenging psychological cases. Unfortunately, though, Brilliant Minds season 1 is limited to 13 episodes.

A medical drama, based on the neurologist Oliver Sacks and his non-fiction books, Brilliant Minds debuted on NBC in September. NBC’s “Brilliant Minds” wrapped up its first season with a shocking twist that leads Zachary Quinto’s Dr. Oliver Wolf to “question everything.”

After learning how his dad’s passing traumatized Oliver during his adolescence, the penultimate episode of “Brilliant Minds” revealed that Oliver’s dad, Noah (played by Mandy Patinkin) was, in fact, alive and well. In a dramatic confrontation between Oliver, Noah and Muriel (Donna Murphy), Oliver learns not only that his dad has been alive, but that his mom has known, and lied to him.

“For Wolf, when he learns this huge secret, I think he starts to question everything in his life,” showrunner Michael Grassi told TheWrap. “Everything that he believed to be true is no longer true, and the thing that defined him, which was his dad, and is not what he believed it to be.
