The Crawler will keep on crawling through the streets of Tokyo for at least one more season. Today, the popular anime series My Hero Academia: Vigilantes has been renewed for Season 2. The announcement was made after the spin-off series aired its 13th episode in Japan. Along with the renewal, Crunchyroll announced that it will continue to roll out new episodes simultaneously with the Japanese release, and the new episodes are set to debut in 2026. A short teaser was unveiled with the announcement, and you can check it out in this article.
It's a bit early to tell the arcs that My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will cover, but fans of the manga series by Hideyuki Furuhashi already have an idea of which direction Koichi (voiced by Shūichirō Umeda in the original Japanese and by Jack Broadbent in the English dub), Knuckleduster (Yasuhiro Mamiya/Jason Marnocha) and Pop☆Step (Ikumi Hasegawa/Macy Anne Johnson) will go.

Ever since its first episode, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes has included characters that are completely familiar to fans of the franchise. Since the spin-off series takes place just a few years before the events of My Hero Academia, it's not surprising that characters pop up sporadically, while some of them participate in entire episodes. This week, the show brought two familiar faces to take part in an event that might end badly.
Since the focus of the show was Narufest — a city-stopping event in which Pop☆Step (voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa in the original Japanese and by Macy Anne Johnsonin the English dub) is slated to headline a musical presentation along with other two acts — it made perfect sense to bring back two characters that are known as My Hero Academia showstoppers: Present Mic (Hiroyuki Yoshino/Dave Trosko) and Nemuri Kayama (Akeno Watanabe/Elizabeth Maxwell), mostly known as Midnight. Family is a prominent theme in One Piece, particularly found ones. The Straw Hats are considered a found family, fitting together like pieces of a puzzle. This theme is emphasized with the parents and parental figures shown throughout the series.
The majority of the Straw Hats and other important characters in One Piece have backstories involving their parental figures making a huge sacrifice for them, like Nami and Belle-mere, Sanji and Zeff, or Law and Corazon. Recently, it revealed how Kuma did the same for Bonney.
However, the opposite can also be true. Vinsmoke Judge, Sanji’s biological father, never deserved to become a parent, as his goals for making children were cruel and selfish. The anime adaptation, however, made an ironic but poetic choice for his Japanese voice actor.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes can get really unhinged sometimes. But there's a perfectly good reason for that. In the spin-off series, one of the major villains is Bee☆Pop (voiced by Sayaka Senbongi in the original Japanese and by Morgan Laure in the English dub), whose entire purpose is to create chaos in Japan. The villain injects people with the Trigger, a drug designed to dial people's Quirks up to eleven and create instant villains who terrorize the city. In Episode 9, however, the drug reached a new level when it came in contact with an animal.
In the episode, titled "Mom Descends," a house cat gets injected with the Queen Bee drug just when it jumped and landed on top of a bus. The result is... bizarre. The cat merges with the bus to become a huge, four-wheeled beast, and it starts driving itself down the streets and putting...

Secrets of the Silent Witch is a very interesting fantasy series that will get an anime adaptation later this year. The story is quite peculiar and it has something that makes it stand out among other similar stories.
Created by Matsuri Isora, the series debuted in 2020 and has since seen nine main and one spin-off volume published in Japan. The series has seen a rise in popularity recently, and the upcoming anime will certainly help in that department even more.
As you probably know by now, each Saturday, the producers of the anime are revealing a new cast member for the upcoming anime, and we are happy to report that a new name has been confirmed this week as well.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a fantasy anime unlike any other. It forgoes a more traditional focus on combat and opts to tell a very personal story about adventurers traveling together. However, that doesn't mean that there isn't any action at all. Frieren features its fair share of monstrous obstacles and shows off how strong all the characters are as they face wandering dangers.
The strongest characters aren't necessarily the oldest or most experienced. Sometimes, characters are strong because they work at their crafts tirelessly – honing their skills with each encounter. Characters of various ages and races are among the strongestFrieren characters.
Updated on February 23, 2025 by Robbie Robinson: Really, there's a plethora of overpowered characters in Frieren. Because of that, the battles end up being perfectly suspenseful and exciting. While Frieren seems like an easy choice for the top spot, there are actually some characters that are regarded as being much stronger.

In the past, even the No.1 Hero, All Might, admitted that he couldn’t save everyone. That made me wonder: What happens to the lives crying out for help in places beyond All Might’s reach? Throughout Bleach's Thousand-Year Blood War Arc, individual Sternritter have only been given a little bit of focus on the whole. That changed in Bleach Episode 404, "Friend," an episode in which Bazz-b finally gets his time in the spotlight, even if the battle ends in his death. This episode also reveals his backstory and shows his goals to be surprisingly similar to Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. However, Grimmjow may not have been the one to defeat Aizen, but he survived his battle and has surpassed his initial role in the story. Bazz-b never gained the narrative significance that the Arrancar has.
Both of these characters are well-loved fan favorites, as seen in the various popularity polls. Grimmjow has been making an impact on the series since his bold introduction. Shojo anime protagonists come in all shapes and sizes, but many adhere to the same tropes. Most are kind and innocent women, doing everything in their power to help the surrounding people. They may do this to the neglect of their own health, and therefore need other characters to look after them in term. They're optimistic and always try their best to see the good in others.
There's nothing wrong with these kinds of protagonists, but some say variety is the spice of life. Sometimes, shojo fans crave something a little different to make a new anime feel unique. Some of these alternative protagonists are tough and stubborn. Others transform into the unexpected. Some shojo protagonists aren't even girls. These ten shojo protagonists are anything but the ordinary heroines fans expect.

One Piece has set the precedent in many ways, especially when it comes to creating a larger-than-life main character like Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy is known for being that overly energetic character who rushes headfirst into danger to get that sweet taste of adventure. In doing so, he brings countless people together through his heroic acts, even though he claims he isn’t a hero. Luffy’s freedom-seeking, never-say-die attitude is what led him to become the prototypical shōnen anime protagonist.
Since One Piece’s debut in 1999, many characters have adopted some similarities to Luffy. Of course, this doesn’t mean every anime is intentionally trying to replicate Luffy’s unique traits—he is one of a kind. However, his personality type, Esfp, is one that many mangakas utilize. This personality type resonates well with audiences, and it's because ESFPs have an infectious energy and a down-to-earth nature about them.

The sheer length of some of the most famous anime series can be something of a turnoff for newcomers, leading some fans to wonder what the best short anime are. Friends may enthusiastically recommend Naruto, One Piece, or The Legend of Galactic Heroes, but those shows, classics that they are, have hundreds of episodes, making them something of a time commitment, to say the very least.
Maybe a viewer is new to anime and isn't sure that they want to sink that much time into a single piece of media, or maybe they're a longtime fan who simply doesn't have the time or patience to sit through another 70 episodes until they finally reach the story arc their friends keep raving about. Luckily for those pressed for time, anime has a lot of excellent shorter shows that aren't held back by their length, coming in at 13 episodes or less. The best...

A lot of shonen characters have unique skills and supernatural abilities, and many of them are powerful swordsmen. While most of anime's iconic swordsmen are from shonen series, several master swordsmen from other genres also deserve recognition.
The Seinen and Isekai genres have produced many great swordsmen, and a few can be found in dark fantasy series. This review contains mild spoilers for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 - The Conflict, Episode 6, "The Holy Newborn."
Now that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 - The Conflict is at its halfway point, the cour understandably needed a quick break from the heavy action so that the story could catch up. This was the main purpose for last week's middling episode, and this extended break continues over in this week's outing. But where last week's episode could be regarded as the closest thing to a filler episode that The Conflict had, "The Holy Newborn" does a bit more than just prepare the final battle's stage even if doesn't show a single fight.
"The Holy Newborn" comes off the heels of last week's cliffhanger, which saw the return of the fan-favorite Espada, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. While his reunion with Ichigo Kurosaki was concluded a lot quicker than what some Bleach fans may have hoped for,...

Dandadan's Momo and Okarun relationship is a breath of fresh air in the shnen space, as the show can blend action and romance in an organic way that doesn't seem forced. The anime also displays the blossoms of youth and the awkwardness of navigating through the teen years that many people experience. The anime also has that action kick to keep viewers invested and interested in the unlikely duo to see how they navigate their high school life and the dangers lurking within the supernatural realm.
The innocence and denseness of Momo and Okarun make viewers root for them to succeed in bothnormallife and their supernatural endeavors.Thehighlight of the showis their dynamic with one another, one thatis silly and hilarious to watch, yet viewers can see the underlying chemistrythatthey have with each other.Fortunately for viewers who are fans of Momo and Okarun's relationship, there areplenty of other animesthathave this fun dynamic.

One of the most popular demographics in anime and manga, shonen has been responsible for some of the mediums greatest hits for many decades. Most of the genres classics, from action-adventure epics like One Piece to sports dramas like Hajime no Ippo, are regarded as some of animes best, most inspiring tales.
Even when anime skyrocketed in popularity internationally, shonen remained the mediums leading genre, with many of its hits from the past few decades, such as Attack on Titan and Noragami, already earning the status of modern classics. Yet, the newest generation of shonen anime might be one of the most prolific and multifaceted in the genres history.
