Wizards Beyond Waverly Place returns to whip up a little season two magic on September 12, 2025 with the release of the first two episodes. The new season debuts on Disney Channel before launching on Disney+ on October 8.

The premiere date announcement was accompanied by a new poster and a short teaser for the upcoming season, which welcomes back Selena Gomez in a guest-starring role along with Bill Chott as Mr. Laritate, Sean Whalen as Mantooth, and Amanda Tepe. Also guest starring are Freya Skye as Piper, Harvey Guillén as Gossip Stone, Kirsten Vangsness as Bigelow McFigglehorn, Recker Eans as Quentin, Tobias Jelinek as Lord Morsus, Patrick Bristow as Wiz M.D., and Eleanor Sweeney as Bella Bianchi.

Season 2 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place officially has a premiere date, and some major guest stars too.

The new season of the Selena Gomez-produced Wizards of Waverly Place spinoff series will premiere with two episodes on Friday, September 12 at 7 p.m. Et/Pt on Disney Channel. All episodes will then drop on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets on Wednesday, October 8.

Selena, who also serves as executive producer, returns as Alex Russo in a special guest appearance this season.

Season 2 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the continuation of the Emmy Award-winning Wizards of Waverly Place, premieres with two episodes Friday, Sept. 12, on Disney Channel (7:00 p.m. Edt/Pdt) and Disney Channel On Demand. All episodes will be available on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Joining Selena Gomez (“Alex Russo”) in guest roles for the second season include Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires star Freya Skye (Piper), Harvey Guillén (Gossip Stone), Kirsten Vangsness (Bigelow McFigglehorn), Recker Eans (Quentin), Tobias Jelinek (Lord Morsus), Patrick Bristow (Wiz M.D.), and Eleanor Sweeney (Bella Bianchi).

This season will deliver a dose of nostalgia with the return of iconic characters from Wizards of Waverly Place, including Mr. Laritate (Bill Chott) and Mantooth (Sean Whalen). Amanda Tepe, known for her many memorable roles throughout the original series, also makes a special appearance in the Christmas-themed episode.

Production on the 10-episode season started on April 14 and wrapped by July 3, 2025. The new episodes pick up right where Season 1 left off, but things are getting a lot more intense.

The Disney Channel sequel series will kick off its sophomore run with a two-episode premiere, airing Friday, Sept. 12, before all episodes drop on Disney+ on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
