It's been almost a year since the finale of Resident Alien Season 3 hit the airwaves, and as fans eagerly await to hear when Season 4 will make its debut, the stars of the hit sci-fi comedy series are teasing that it could be sooner rather than later. Premiering in 2021, Resident Alien stars Alan Tudyk as an extraterrestrial that's sent to wipe out humanity, but ends up crash-landing on Earth and sticking around for a while, only to find himself defending humankind instead.
Appearing at Fan Expo Vancouver this past weekend (via The Direct), Tudyk was joined by his fellow co-stars Alice Wetterland (D'arcy Bloom) and Sara Tomko (Asta Twelvetrees) to discuss all things Resident Alien. Based on the comics by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, the series has quickly become a favorite among many, due in part to Tudyk's wonderful performance in the fish-out-of-water story, and the series' sharp writing that...

TV is becoming the new frontier for amazing sci-fi stories, attracting top talent like Christopher Walken and delivering impressive viewership. Emmy-winning series like Stranger Things and Westworld showcase the power of TV to tell complex, multi-layered sci-fi narratives. Shows like Resident Alien, Silo, and Dark Matter demonstrate how TV allows for deep world-building, character development, and nuanced storytelling not possible in film.
At some point, the future of amazing science fiction stories will mostly transition from movies to TV. Over the past few years, some of the best TV series of all time have been released, and they sit firmly in the sci-fi genre. Major streaming services have released incredible shows, and Academy Award-winning actors like Christopher Walken, Anthony Hopkins, and Daniel Kaluuya have joined them. For many of the series, critics' ratings have been fantastic, and viewership for shows like Fallout has been very impressive.
The success doesn't stop there.

The following contains spoilers for Resident Alien Season 3, now streaming on Peacock.
Syfy's Resident Alien has been one of the most popular shows on TV. Alan Tudyk has been doing a great job as an alien pretending to be Harry, a doctor in the snowy Colorado town of Patience. Harry's job was to prepare the Earth to be destroyed in the first two seasons. However, he has developed an affinity for humanity.
This led to Harry trying to stave off the apocalypse in Resident Alien Season 3. Unfortunately, he has the Greys (his alien rivals) to deal with, their human-hybrid aliens, and a military that he can't trust on the "blue rock." With that in mind, here is how each episode stacked up in Season 3.

‘Never Have I Ever’ Director Kabir Akhtar Believes ‘The Door Is Open for More’ Indian American Shows
One of director Kabir Akhtar’s first episodes on Mindy Kaling’s Netflix comedy series “Never Have I Ever” was the first episode told from Ben Gross’s (Jaren Lewison) point of view in Season 1.
The show follows Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) as she conquers the rollercoaster of high school, the emotions of adolescence and her particularly hot temper, which could flare at any moment. Devi also experiences a classic love triangle between two very different boys — Lewison’s overachieving, nerdy Ben Gross and Darren Barnet’s laid-back jock Paxton Hall-Yoshida.
“I ended up directing both Ben episodes and one of the Paxton episodes, and that first one, one of the things I loved most about it was — you look at it on the surface, and to that point in the show you have this young brown girl as the main character,” Akhtar told TheWrap. “This privileged white kid who...

The Directors Guild of America (DGA) announced the television nominations for the 2020 DGA Awards on Monday, honoring “Ted Lasso,” “WandaVision,” and “The Queen’s Gambit” as examples of some of the finest directorial work that the medium has to offer.
Both Comedy and Drama categories saw complete turnover in nominees from 2019, with none of the series honored last year airing episodes during the window of eligibility in 2020. Therefore the celebration is guaranteed to get an injection of fresh blood, a welcome development with any awards body.
Curiously, the wide open field allowed for some surprising series to garner their first ever DGA nominations, including AMC’s “Better Call Saul” and Disney+’s “The Mandalorian.”
Also announced today were the DGA Award nominations for Documentary, including nods for “Boys State” and “The Truffle Hunters.”

OTTThe show puts an Indian-American teen at the centre, pushing past generations of stories that have placed white protagonists in the spotlight.Nikhita VenugopalThere’s a formula when it comes to classic teen rom-coms — a girl, a boy, best friends, overbearing parents, school. The best versions of these stories draw us in with tropes (because who doesn’t love a good rom-com) but keep us hooked for something much more. For teen stories, the task becomes harder because we’re wired to dismiss their problems as ‘angst’ and move on with our day. But beyond the crushes and homework and screaming matches, it’s ultimately a kid in crisis, hoping to be taken seriously in a world where the adults are talking. Netflix released the first 10-episode season of Never Have I Ever this week, a new series from actor and comedian Mindy Kaling and writer-producer Lang Fisher, about a...

Each year brings more series than many thought possible. Most of them want Emmys. Some of them even deserve them. So, in the peakest of peak TV climates, who can blame the marketing teams behind them for getting creative with their For Your Consideration campaigns?
“I think that in this very crowded television landscape, you have to differentiate yourself and it’s always been about creative ideas and figuring out ways to trigger people with what you’re promoting,” says Rich Licata, the veteran awards campaigner who pioneered the idea of episode screeners when he was at HBO in the early 1990s.
He says that strategies including boxed mailers and For Your Consideration Q&A nights are no longer enough — especially the latter, now that there’s such a demand to hold them at the TV Academy’s North Hollywood headquarters that the venue had to institute a lottery system.

The American Cinema Editors handed out the Eddie Awards on Friday (Jan. 26). Oscar watchers were in attendance for the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton as they are keenly aware that Ace is aces as one of the best indicators of which film takes home the Best Picture Oscar
Since 1990, the film that came up with an Ace went on to win the top prize at the Academy Awards 17 times. And in seven of the 10 years when the Ace barometer was wrong, the Eddie champ was at least a contender for Best Picture, including last year when both the drama winner (“Arrival”) and the comedy/musical champ (“La La Land”) were among the eight Best Picture nominees that lost the top Oscar to “Moonlight.”

It was a night of firsts and sweeps.
Find out who won their first Emmys and what shows swept the awards, because we have every single winner from all three Emmy ceremonies below!
Jimmy Kimmel did an awesome job hosting, and even managed to point out all of the annoying gluten free stars in the audience after passing out Pb&J sandwiches his mom made. And he hoped nobody was allergic to nuts!
Congrats to all the winners. How many surprised you by the way things turned out? FX proved that there may be too much television to choose from, but what they're putting out there is of the great variety.
HBO offered up repeats with Game of Thrones and Veep, Keeping The Americans from a Best Drama win, but Rami Malek got the best actor win, even if we were also cheering heartily for Matthew Rhys. And our girl...

American Cinema Editors (Ace) today announced nominations for the 64th Annual Ace Eddie Awards recognizing outstanding editing in ten categories of film, television and documentaries. Winners will be revealed during Ace’s annual black-tie awards ceremony on Friday, February 7, 2014 in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The Ace Eddie Awards is considered an integral precursor to the Oscars. No film has won Best Picture at the Oscars without also having received at least a Best Editing nomination since Ordinary People in 1981. Since the Ace membership boasts a very high crossover within its membership of Academy members, it represents a very accurate bellwether for the eventual Oscar outcome.
