Rumors began to swirl that the Tenacious D musician was attached to the movie after frontman Rivers Cuomo, shared an AI-generated film poster on band’s Discord server. On Thursday, Catfish: The TV Show co-host Kamie Crawford announced her exit from the MTV reality series with a statement on social media, nearly six years after tracking down her first ‘catfish’ with Schulman.

“After six years of living my absolute dream working on Catfish – one of the most iconic shows in television history, it is with a heavy heart and much consideration that I have decided to move on to my next adventure,” started Crawford in the statement.

After 15 years of curating the best of short films, Vimeo is giving some insight into what makes a coveted Staff Pick.

The streaming platform for rising filmmakers launched a Generation Vimeo campaign to mark the 15th anniversary of the website. Staff Pick Best of the Year winning director Danae Gosset provided the animation for this short film inspired by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman’s “A Brief History of Baldessari” video, and directed and produced by Vimeo’s internal creative team, to share the behind-the-scenes process for selecting Staff Picks. “High Maintenance” co-creator Ben Sinclair provides the voiceover for the video, returning to Vimeo where the HBO series originated. It’s getting harder to make a real romantic connection these days, and no one understands that more than Nev Schulman. Back in 2010, the native New Yorker became the subject of a successful documentary directed by his brother Ariel and Henry Joost. Nev had forged a sweet, romantic relationship with a beautiful woman on Facebook – or at least he thought he had. As the documentary crew dug deeper into the woman’s life, they discovered that much of what she had told Nev was a lie, and the term “catfish” was coined.

Over a decade later, Catfish and its meaning are part of the cultural lexicon, and Schulman is still heavily involved in the investigative concept of the original movie, producing and co-hosting a hugely popular MTV docuseries exposing the online truths, lies, and scams encountered by a seemingly endless stream of lonely and lovelorn people over hundreds of episodes.

Pressman Film is a production company that was founded by Ed Pressman, a prolific producer of over 90 films, including the likes of Wall Street, American Psycho, and The Crow. Sadly, Pressman passed away earlier this year at the age of 79. Now his son Sam Pressman is the CEO of Pressman Film, which recently rebooted The Crow – and landed an eight-figure domestic distribution deal for the film with Lionsgate. In a competitive situation, MGM’s Orion Pictures has won the feature film rights and will partner with producer Freddy Wexler on a feature length film based on the life of Keith Adams, coach of the championship winning all-deaf High School football team, the Riverside Cubs.

The film, which will also focus on the lives of Adams’ two sons who played on the team, is expected to begin production in 2023.

Netflix wants more of Ryan Murphy’s The Watcher and Murphy’s anthology series, Monster. The streaming service renewed both shows for second seasons as Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story moves within striking distance of 1 billion viewing hours.

The streaming service revealed Monday that after the success of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, the series would continue in the anthology format.

Two new installments have been ordered and "will tell the stories of other monstrous figures who have impacted society."

Netflix revealed that the series is projected cross 1 billion hours viewed in the coming weeks.

The series starring Evan Peters, has currently amassed over 934 million view hours.

It is the second most popular English TV season on Netflix, coming in behind Stranger Things Season 4.

The series broke a Nielsen record as the seventh most viewed streaming program in the US in a single week, and has held the top spot on Nielsen’s weekly streaming chart for three consecutive weeks.

Additionally, Netflix has ordered a second season of the Murphy, Brennan and Eric Newman real-estate thriller, The Watcher.

Netflix has ordered two additional installments of Monster after huge viewing figures for its Jeffrey Dahmer-focused season and picked up a second season of The Watcher. Netflix is going the anthology route with “Monster,” with the streamer ordering two additional seasons of the series. Netflix has also ordered Season 2 of “The Watcher.”

Both shows were created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. “Monster” launched Sept. 21, while “The Watcher” debuted on Oct. 13.

The first season of “Monster” was officially titled “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” and followed the life and crimes of the infamous serial killer. The two new installments will each focus on “other monstrous figures who have impacted society,” per Netflix.

“Monster” proved to be a massive success, debuting atop both the Netflix and Nielsen streaming charts. It was also the number one show on the Nielsen chart for three straight weeks. According to Netflix, it is the streamer’s second most popular English TV season ever.

“Audiences can’t take their eyes off ‘Monster’ and ‘The Watcher,'” said Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s head of global TV.

Ryan Murphy has another anthology after Netflix ordered two additional installments of his Monster franchise following the success of Dahmer.

The streamer has also ordered a second season of his drama series The Watcher.

Neither move is a surprise given the ratings success of both shows, particularly the outsized ratings of Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which is on course to reach 1B hours viewed in the coming weeks.

Both Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and The Watcher come from American Horror Story co-creator Murphy and Glee co-creator Ian Brennan.

Netflix didn’t disclose what the two additional installments of the Monster anthology franchise will cover but said that they will “tell the stories of other monstrous figures who have impacted society”.

His real-estate thriller The Watcher is the most-watched series on Netflix for the second week in a row, with 148.2M hours viewed. That’s in addition to the 125M hours it racked up in its first week on the streamer, totaling 273.2M hours viewed since release.

In its second week, The Watcher made it to the top of the charts in 65 countries — compared to 90 countries in the first week of release.

After launching on October 13, The Watcher dethroned Murphy’s other new series, the Evan Peters-led Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, from the top of the Netflix Top 10 chart. The serial killer series had spent 21 days in first place, helping it to become Netflix’s second most-popular English-language series of all time.

Dahmer now remains in second place on the Netflix Top 10 list, with 69.11M additional hours viewed last week.

Ryan Murphy sat down with the female cast members of The Watcher to reflect on the true crime genre and discuss who may have been the true voyeur who inspired his Netflix limited series.

But first, Murphy was happy to take credit for accomplishing what few — if any — Hollywood projects try to accomplish these days: casting not one, but five women of a certain age.

Deadline revealed on Friday that his latest series, real-estate thriller The Watcher, had dethroned his other show Dahmer at the top of Netflix’s daily chart.

This came after 21 consecutive days at the top for the serial killer thriller, helping it to become Netflix’s second most popular English-language series of all time.

The Watcher, which launched on October 13, has now been viewed for 125M hours in its first five days on the service.

Dahmer, for instance, racked up 196.2M hours in its first five days.

The Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale-fronted series made it into the top 10 in 90 countries.

The seven-part series is actually Murphy’s third title in the charts this week with Mr. Harrigan’s Phone staying in the feature film list with 20M hours viewed.

The White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge hosts a three-minute “open house” video as realtor Karen Calhoun.

“Hi, I’m Karen Calhoun from Darren Dunn Realty,” says Coolidge at the opening of the teaser. “This is 657 Boulevard,” she continues, “and this is my listing.”

“Are you ready?, your dream home awaits,” she adds.

The teaser could pass for a legit open house tour, except for a couple of things that are a bit telling — such as when Karen suggests you could fit an entire body in the home’s dumbwaiter, and when she fears opening the bedroom curtains because of “weird neighbors” who might be peering in.

Secret Headquarters has officially become Paramount+’s most-watched movie, marking a major high point for the popular streaming service.

In a press release, a representative stated Secret Headquarters “has rocketed to superhero status on Paramount+ as a must-watch summer family film, breaking the viewership record for an original movie in the first week of release.” Official numbers were not available at time of publication.
