Jason A. Payne is a 2001 graduate of Washington State University's Edward R. Murrow School of Communication. He is a member of the Motion Picture Editor's Guild and is the Senior Editor and Post Production Supervisor for the Syfy Original Series, "Z Nation."

After graduating with a BA in Communications (Broadcast Production), and minor in Theater Arts, Jason started working for North by Northwest Productions in Spokane, WA. He began as a production assistant on the feature film "Whacked!" starring Carmen Electra, and quickly worked his way up to commercial editor.

With the growing popularity of DVD's in the early 2000's, Jason began producing and editing "making of" documentaries for NXNW's feature films which led to editing and producing the hour-long documentary "Making The Passion of the Christ," that aired nationally on PAX television in 2004.

Since 2005, Jason has edited ten feature films including "The Cutter," starring Chuck Norris; "The Hit List," starring Cuba Gooding Jr., and the suspense thriller "The River Murders," with Ray Liotta, Christian Slater and Ving Rhames.

Along with "Z Nation" he recently edited the Humphrey Bogart Estate's "This Last Lonely Place," directed by Steve Anderson, and "Delirium," a psychological horror film for director Johnny Martin.

Between editing movies and TV, Jason has worked as the Post Production Supervisor of over 20 feature films, including "John Carpenter's, The Ward," and the John Travolta thriller "I Am Wrath."
