Chelsea Spear was born and raised in Medford, Massachussetts. As of
late 2005 she has directed three short films ("Alphabet", "The Hidden",
and "The Unhappy Medium") and two installations ("Films About Water",
which screened as part of the 2000 Terrastock music festival, and
"Orangutan", a collaboration with Milwaukee Dance Theatre). She is
currently working on her first feature film, The Ballad of Burd Janet.
She is active in causes relating to the betterment of Medford, such as restoration of historic homes and building a center for the arts. She also enjoys live music and knitting.
