Ilaiyaraaja’s 1,417th film Aadhiraajan’s ‘Ninaivellam Neeyada’ wrapped up

The shooting of director Aadhiraajan’s ‘Ninaivellam Neeyada’, which happens to be the 1,417th musical venture of Maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja, has been wrapped up. The movie, which sources say is based on the first love that one experiences during one’s adolescence, has been shot across Chennai, Kodaikanal and Thirumazhisai.

Shooting of the film has been completed in just 41 days. The last day of shooting was held at EVP Studios in Chennai, where Prajan, Sinamika, Yuva Lakshmi, and a few students shot an important sequence amidst heavy rainfall. To celebrate the wrap-up, the crew cut a cake on the occasion.

Currently, dubbing work is on in full swing for ‘Ninaivellam Neeyada’, which is scheduled for release in November this year.

The movie features Prajan and Manisha Yadav in the lead roles. Debutant Sinamika plays the second female lead in this film. New comers Rohit and Yuva Lakshmi will be seen...

'Thangameengal', 'Haridas' win top laurels at Ciff
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra
Chennai, Dec 19: Tamil films "Thangameengal" and "Haridas" Thursday won the best film and the second-best film awards in the competition section of the 11th Chennai International Film Festival (Ciff).

Thursday's closing ceremony was graced by Bollywood filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

The eight-day extravaganza concluded after screening 163 films from 58 countries.

Actress-filmmaker Sripriya, director R.V. Udayakumar and writer S. Ramakrishnan constituted the jury.

Filmmaker Ramsubramaniam's "Thangameengal" was lauded by the jury for portraying the sensitive relationship between a father and his daughter with.
