Randy Januarie

Hailing from the small town of Montagu in the Western Cape, Randy attended Hoërskool Montagu before graduating with a BA Drama and Theatre Studies at Stellenbosch University in 2017. She voiced roles in a number of radio dramas on Afrikaans station Radio Sonder Grense including IEC, Bosluissie and Huis op die Hawe.

Randy's television acting debut came when she was cast in the guest role of Thandi in an episode of the kykNET police procedural drama series Projek Dina (Project Dina) which aired on 10 March, 2020 (Season 1, Episode 9). She made her film debut in the same year in the Afrikaans sci-fi film Wesens (Beings) set in South Africa in 1967, which follows four South African Republican Intelligence Agents as they investigate an unidentified object that landed on a farm in the Karoo.

Randy landed her first starring role in television when she was cast as call center helpline agent Naomi Beukes in the SABC2 telenovela Die Sentrum (The Centre), which revolves around a group of eight diverse counsellors who work together at a helpline call center. In the short film Riel (2023), Randy explores the indigenous Riel dance as the lead character Alfreda. Riel has gone on to win best short film at the South African Independent Film Festival as well as the audience and jury award at the Pierre La Cardin festival de Lacoste.

Beyond her acting talents, Randy Januarie wears multiple hats in the entertainment industry. As a script supervisor, she brings a keen eye for detail to productions, ensuring seamless storytelling. She has also worked as the in-house Researcher & Digital Library Coordinator at Film Afrika from 2022-2024, making her a multi-faceted creative in the television and film industry.
