The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' Earns $8.7 Million from Thursday Screenings
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opened in theaters nationwide for Thursday night screenings, pulling in a healthy $8.7 million before its wide release starting today.

In comparison, the sequel bested its predecessor The Amazing Spider-Man, which earned $7.5 million in its preview screenings in 2012. The superhero adventure starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone opened in 353 IMAX screens, accounting for $1.4 million, or 16% of the $8.7 million preview grosses. Director Marc Webb's sequel opens in a whopping 4,324 theaters starting today.

With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp... The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will...
