10 Manga to Read After Finishing ‘Vinland Saga’
Image
It truly feels like the end of an era! The monumental legacy that Vinland Saga has created is something many series can only dream of. With its final chapter finally out now, the stories, the lessons, and the journey it has left us with will keep resonating with the viewers for decades or centuries to come.

A compelling redemption arc with some of the most relevant societal messages is what makes Vinland Saga great, right? So, after finishing the masterpiece of a series that it truly is, if you wish to experience something, you’d better try these recommended ones. They may have different storylines and plots, but they’re all as narratively dense as Vinland Saga is.

1. Vagabond

Both Vinland Saga and Vagabond provide a rich historical setting with much accuracy. Even the protagonists are quite similar in terms of their motivations, but their goals might just be starkly different.

Kentaro Miura Didn’t Think Too Much About ‘Berserk’s Most Gruesome Theme
Image
The brutality is an integral aspect of Berserk, as it conveys the grimness and gravity of its fantasy world. It also gives meaning to Guts’ anger and his revenge in the series. During an interview, which was translated by mangabrog, Kentaro Miura shared how the friendship among Griffith, Guts, and the Band of the Hawk was a simple idea initially. One that was rooted in reality.

As he began to question the motivations of Guts, the idea evolved into its more gruesome and final form. Their friendship in Berserk evolved for the worse, and the readers weren’t prepared for it.

The idea of the Band of the Hawk was based on Kentaro Miura’s own boys’ group back in school. This friendship was very simple, and so was the initial form of the mercenary group in Berserk.

Kentaro Miura Wanted ‘Berserk’ to Be About One of the Most Complex Emotions
Image
As the title itself implies, Berserk is about rage, and not just a specific kind of rage. In an interview, published in September 2000, author Kentaro Miura shared that he always wanted to highlight rage in his series, and it was the central focus. Guts, the protagonist of Berserk, is full of anger because of the endless torture that he goes through.

Born out of a corpse, he was se*ually assaulted by Donovan at a young age. He does take his revenge, but that type of scar remains throughout life. It was his adoptive father who had sold him to Donovan. Years later, when he was finally able to fall in love, he was forced to watch his best friend violate his lover. Every bad thing that can happen to a human has happened to Guts. How can such a character not contain rage?

Koji Mori Made One Promise to Kentaro Miura When Reviving ‘Berserk’
Image
Kentaro Miura‘s Berserk has stood at the top of the dark fantasy world of the anime industry for almost 40 years. Even though the series never received a decent anime adaptation, it still managed to make a name for itself. But the world of Berserk shattered completely when its creator sadly passed away in 2021.

After Miura’s passing, Koji Mori, another popular manga artist who was also the best friend of the Berserk mangaka, took over the responsibility of his masterpiece. Mori is now handling Guts’ journey of revenge within the series along with the staff of Studio Gaga. However, the intriguing aspect is that Mori has not added or modified the story in any way.

In fact, he once revealed in an interview with Asahi that he would never bring any change to the Berserk universe and solely follow the story that Miura had originally planned for Guts, the protagonist.

'Cry Harder': Netflix Showrunner Calls Out Petition Against New Berserk Anime
Image
Film producer and screenwriter Adi Shankar, known among anime fans for his work on Netflix's Castlevania and Devil May Cry series, has sparked intense backlash from fans of Berserk after declaring the iconic manga series his own and teasing drastic changes, which included inserting himself into the story.

In a previous post on X (formerly Twitter), Adi Shankar said that he would helm a new Berserk adaptation, changing the lore and making Guts an "Adi Shankar self-insert." Although he later clarified that the post was intended as a troll one, a petition was still launched on Change.org with the stated goal to "protect Berserk from falling into the same pitfall as other franchises under Shankar's production." Shankar, however, appeared unfazed by the backlash, posting a screenshot of the petition with the simple two-word caption: "Cry Harder."

Adult Swim Just Sacrificed Its Anime Reputation Thanks to ‘Lazarus’
Image
For decades, otakus have trusted Adult Swim to deliver some of the best anime series to an international audience. Yet, over the last few years, the series produced for Adult Swim has seen a stark decline in quality. Thanks to Lazarus, fans have completely lost trust in Adult Swim.

However, the fault also lies partly with Jason DeMarco, a senior writer and producer for Toonami and the VP and creative director for Adult Swim. In his current role, he serves as SVP, he looks over anime series for Adult Swim.

Fans Have Lost Trust Over Adult Swim After Lazarus

Lazarus, an original anime produced by Mappa, was created and directed by Shinichiro Watanabe. It aired on Adult Swim’s Toonami block from April to June 2025. Despite being hyped as Watanabe’s new project, the anime severely disappointed fans. It lacked engaging storytelling and also prevented any character from actually developing as they should have.

The Anime That Inspired ‘Berserk’ and ‘Dragon Ball’ Is Finally Getting a Remake
Image
Dragon Ball and Berserk are the two biggest names in the anime and manga community that have carried the industry for decades. However, the two series have a mutual inspiration that helped them reach the pedestal they are on today. This series is none other than Fist of the North Star, the greatest piece of art from the 80s.

The series was written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, and it first started serialization in 1983, with the anime adaptation by Toei Animation being released in 1984. The series was announced for a remake a few years ago, and it has finally received some major updates.

The updates have come in the form of a release window and key visual art depicting the upcoming anime adaptation of Fist of the North Star. These updates have appeared as a ray of light for fans who lost hope for the series getting a...

1 of Shonen Jump's Biggest Anime Reboots Is Finally Teasing A Long-Awaited Update
Image
After almost two years, Fist of the North Star’s reboot is gearing up for a major announcement. In celebration of Fist of the North Star’s 40th anniversary, it was announced in 2023 that a new anime was in development, and while no further details have been revealed, the idea of such an iconic anime getting a modern reboot was no less exciting to think about.

News about the Fist of the North Star reboot has been surprisingly light, but fortunately, that’s about to change. While Fist of the North Star’s official X account has mostly been reserved for announcing new merchandise and collaborations, in a surprise announcement, Fist of the North Star’s official X account has just revealed that new information about the anime will be coming in two days, meaning Friday, June 27 Jst. It’s unknown what to expect from this, but after so many years of silence,...

A New Berserk Anime Is Being Eyed by Netflix's Castlevania Creator: "Berserk = Mine"
Image
In a tweet that sent shockwaves through the anime and gaming community, Adi Shankar, producer behind Netflix’s Castlevania and the Devil May Cry series, declared, “Berserk = Mine. Lore = Changed. Guts = Adi Shankar Self-insert.” For fans of Kentaro Miura’s legendary dark fantasy manga, this statement has raised both eyebrows and hopes. Berserk is a revered and notoriously difficult story to adapt well, and many believe it deserves new, faithful treatment. But Shankar’s bold declaration has sparked as much caution as curiosity.

Shankar’s reputation as a passionate yet polarizing figure in geek media only complicates matters, according to fans like u/KvotheG on Reddit. Known for injecting stylized violence and emotional grit into his adaptations, his work on Castlevania season 1 was largely praised for its atmosphere, pacing, and surprisingly heartfelt story. However, the direction of later seasons, after his reduced involvement, left some fans disappointed. Now, with his sights set on Berserk,...

This Small Detail in Marvel Rivals Has Berserk Fans Losing Their Minds
Image
It’s not unknown that the developers at NetEase are very in tune with the community when it comes to Marvel Rivals, and they don’t shy away from slipping in references from Marvel movies and comics, sometimes even going out of their way to reference non-Marvel media.

Such is the case with a small new detail discovered by the Marvel Rivals community that is entirely missable and won’t make any sense if you’re not into manga.

Players have spotted that a cosmetic item included in one of Sue Storm’s skin bundles is literally a Berserk reference, and fans of Kentaro Miura’s legendary manga series are losing their marbles over this detail.

'Elden Ring' Director Shares His Obssessive Levels of Research for the Live-Action Movie
Image
A24's live-action Elden Ring movie is one of the most anticipated video game adaptations currently in the works. Civil War and Warfare director, Alex Garland, is helming the adaptation of FromSoftware's bonkers and incredibly difficult video game (which was co-written by Game of Thrones' George R.R. Martin). Oftentimes, directors of video game adaptations might not have prior knowledge of the IP, and might play through the game once for research purposes. Sometimes, they don't even do that. But Garland is setting a new standard for video game movie research, and fans will be incredibly happy to hear how dedicated he is to the project.

Alex Garland recently spoke with IGN to promote the upcoming zombie horror sequel, 28 Years Later, directed by Danny Boyle, and the writer was asked about his work on the eagerly anticipated Elden Ring movie. The English writer/director bluntly noted that "I'm not...

Elden Ring Nightreign Is the Best Homage to the Darkest Manga That Everyone Loves
Image
FromSoftware’s latest co-op title, Elden Ring Nightreign, is somewhat similar to one of the darkest manga of all time: Berserk. It’s not just about the themes and characters that seem connected. In fact, the game seemingly echoes the shades of Berserk through its various stages and lore.

The whispers about the similarity between the two titles have been long-standing in the community. Even now, you can find several posts on Reddit discussing the resemblance between Berserk and Nightreign. Thankfully, the game hasn’t copied anything that may offend the fans of the manga. Instead, it feels much like a homage to respect the creativity of Kentaro Miura’s brilliance in penning Berserk.

What makes Elden Ring Nightreign feel like Berserk

Crunchyroll Anime Awards Completely Ignored the One Anime That Has Objectively Way Better Animation Than Solo Leveling

In a year where animes like Solo Leveling delivered spectacle after spectacle, it’s easy to imagine how some gems like Delicious in Dungeon might get overlooked. But the story of this year’s Crunchyroll Anime Awards has raised various questions amongst its audience.

Now, don’t get us wrong, Solo Leveling is not bad. The series has provided many memorable moments, action sequences, and a unique storyline that has made it reach the top. But to be fair, animation is more than flashy sequences and impact frames – it’s about fluid movement, expression, and consistency. While Delicious in Dungeon excelled in those fields, the anime was short of winning the honor of being the “Anime of the Year”. Here are some of the reasons why this anime was worthy of the title.

“Guts kidnaps Sonia, forces her to read his mind”: The Perfect Berserk Ending We Wanted From Kentaro Miura
Image
The world of manga was left in utter despair as the legendary mangaka, Kentaro Miura, passed away in 2021, at the age of 54. Because of that, he couldn’t even finish his signature work, Berserk, which is arguably the best-written piece of fiction to ever exist.

While Miura’s friend and fellow artist Kouji Mori stepped in to continue the series, you can still feel there’s something off. That unmistakable touch of Miura that made Berserk, “Berserk,” is nowhere to be found.

However, ever since then, many fans have tried to come up with their own interpretation of how Miura must have planned the ending. Recently, one such fan theory has popped up, and quite surprisingly, it has also resonated deeply with the community. This homemade conclusion might just be the perfect sendoff for Guts’ epic storyline.

Japan Doubles Down on Global Anime Domination: 'Otherwise, China & Others Will Start to Make the Creators'
Image
Anime has become a major player in the international entertainment scene, with beloved IPs like Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen and many others gaining millions of dedicated fans all over the world. In the wake of this success, Japan has been forced to reevaluate the structure of its animation industry as well as potential competition from neighboring countries like China.

Per Financial Times, the Japanese "content industry," which includes video games, manga, movies and anime, has grown exponentially over the last decade. From 2013 to 2023, overseas content sales took in an estimated 5.8 trillion yen (or US$39.7 billion). The export value of Japan's entertainment industry -- a significant percentage of which has always included anime -- now exceeds that of its steel, petrochemical and semiconductor sectors. These facts have been noted by prominent industry figures like Keiji Ota, who serves as the 'Chief Godzilla Officer' for Toho. "The strength of...

‘It’s just terrifying to think about’: Naoki Urasawa’s Johan Is Pure Evil but There’s No Way He’s Worse Than Griffith in Berserk
Image
Few anime villains come close to the sheer dread evoked by Naoki Urasawa’s Johan Liebert and Kentaro Miura’s Griffith. There are antagonists, and then there are these guys. Where one would usually use an antagonist to prop up the protagonist, these antagonists are just innately evil and corrupted. They are different, calm, composed, and committed to their goal. There is something extremely chilling about being that single-minded.

But if it comes to the question of who is more evil, terrifying, or unnerving, who among these two wins? That is a difficult question to answer, but one thing is sure.

No matter how many viewers were affected by Urasawa’s Johan and got chills, there is no denying that Miura’s Griffith is much more unnerving.

Griffith’s corrupted nature vs Johan’s innate evil

The two antagonists are similar yet different, possibly because of the different circumstances in which they were placed.

Anime Fans Will Worship Hidetaka Miyazaki After Learning How He Ranks Berserk Over One Piece and Naruto
Image
While gamers worldwide know Hidetaka Miyazaki as the mastermind who delights in their suffering through impossibly difficult boss fights, few realize just how deeply his artistic vision is shaped by specific manga influences.

And when it comes to his manga preferences, Miyazaki doesn’t just casually enjoy Kentaro Miura’s dark fantasy epic Berserk—he ranks it above mainstream juggernauts like One Piece and Naruto in a way that explains everything about his games.

The manga that shaped the Soulslike genre

Hidetaka Miyazaki‘s love affair with Berserk isn’t just a passing fancy—it’s a lifelong obsession that began during his formative years.

According to Knowll, Miyazaki was around 15 years old when Kentaro Miura’s Berserk began serialization in 1989, coinciding with the age when many Japanese readers transition from shonen manga to more mature seinen works. This timing placed Berserk perfectly to capture the imagination of young Miyazaki during his developmental years.

Elden Ring May Have the Berserk References but Diablo 4 Is Bringing Guts to the Sanctuary Soon

Elden Ring wore its love for Berserk like a badge of honor, filling The Lands Between with references to Kentaro Miura’s legendary manga. But while FromSoftware gave us homages, Blizzard is going all-in with an official Berserk collaboration in Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal.

Top 10 Worst Anime Adaptations of All Time
Image
A common misconception among fans is that anime adaptations are a cakewalk. The reality is far-fetched from our imagination. This is precisely why there is an array of both good renditions and bad renditions.

But today, we’ll discuss the worst animated adaptations of all time, and fans may or may not agree with all the entries. But there’s one thing we know for sure: the manga might not be inherently bad, but several factors determine the anime being “worse”.

Solo Leveling: After Guts From ‘Berserk’, Sung Jinwoo Is the Unconventional Protagonist We Needed
Image
With his infinite aura, extraordinary strength, good heart, and memorable character design, Sung Jinwoo ticks all the boxes that make him a well-rounded character. What he doesn’t sign up for is the stereotypical standards set by the anime industry. Solo Leveling evolved from a simple power fantasy series to the highlight of this year so far.

Sung Jinwoo is unique and his character doesn’t align with the popular idea of anime protagonists. Some fans believe that he is similar to Guts from Berserk in certain ways. This particular comparison would probably sound nonsensical to many fans, especially to the die-hard fans of Kentaro Miura’s Berserk. However, both these characters share many similarities that highlight the need for refreshing shonen protagonists.

Berserk: Why Is It So Hard to Create a More Hateable Anime Character Than Kentaro Miura’s Griffith?
Image
Berserk is one of the most psychologically moving and brilliantly written dark fantasy manga ever created. It is not a masterpiece just because of the many disturbing themes it handles, but because of its ability to introduce characters that leave lasting impressions.

One such personality is Griffith, the antagonist of the series, who is still hailed as one of the most hated characters in anime history. Only a handful have come as close to him for being so unanimously despised as he is.

The fact that we are still in awe of him yet detest him just as much proves the genius of Kentaro Miura.

There was a time when we loved Griffith from Berserk

The moment Griffith was introduced, he was meant to be liked and loved by the readers. This was apparent because even the characters within the manga itself saw him as a self-made hero who was destined for greatness.

One Piece Animation Suffered Because Foreign Animators Couldn’t Match the ‘Japanese Style’: “Compensating for That Is Also Causing Some Problems”
Image
One Piece remains one of the most iconic anime series globally, yet recent episodes have started drawing criticism for their inconsistent animation quality. This is surprising since Toei Animation, the studio behind One Piece, is a hegemon in the industry with the best resources.

But it seems that all is not well at the creators’ table as behind the magnificent scenes, the problem appears to lie in how the international talent is being integrated into the production process.

The local animators were not enough, and there was a need to recruit foreign animators. It mostly works fine, but being unaware of the Japanese style led them to make a lot of mistakes. Result? Compromising the animation quality of the beloved series.

The difficulty of meeting the Japanese standards

Japan is undoubtedly the hub of anime, dishing out hundreds of titles every season for the entire world to enjoy.

‘Berserk’ and Junji Ito’s Works Wouldn’t Have Lasted a Day as Modern Anime Makes It Impossible to Tell Good Stories Without Great Animation
Image
Kentaro Miura’s Berserk is highly regarded as a masterpiece, and its mainstream popularity despite its dark themes is a great testament to its quality. Similarly, Junji Ito is the master of the horror genre. Any discussion about horror anime-manga series is incomplete without Ito’s mention.

However, both Berserk and Junji Ito’s works share the same fate as far as anime adaptations are concerned. The detailed and overly complex art styles of both mangaka have proved difficult for animation studios to bring their stories to the anime format.

One Piece: 5 Major Voice Actors Who Passed Away Proving Oda Can No Longer Drag the Story for Years
Image
There are very few stories in the entertainment industry that have stretched out as long as Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, which started way back in 1997. The series has been going on for almost 30 years with the anime starting in 1999. However, even after going on for so long, it looks like the story will be dragged for a few more years before it reaches the finish line.

While fans are happy to get a continuous dose of One Piece, dragging the series for almost 30 years might not have worked so well for the creators. In fact, there are a few of them who have sadly passed away before even finding out the conclusion of the series. Most of these are voice actors who have offered their voices for the characters from One Piece.

Eiichiro Oda Needs to Take Accountability for Making Sanji a Worse Character in ‘One Piece’ Than He Should Have Been

In recent anime news, One Piece and the creators behind the anime have become the target of the fans ever since it has made a return to the industry. The series was on a six-month hiatus and only recently made a comeback with two premiere episodes that were released one after the other. However, some elements of these episodes have been unjustifiable, according to some fans.

These elements majorly involve the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, Vinsmoke Sanji. Sanji is one of the strongest characters in One Piece, and he is also one of the best-written characters by Eiichiro Oda. But, there have been some instances in the anime where he has been ignored to the point that One Piece fans had to step in and voice their opinions about it.

“It was simply not worth it”: I Didn’t Like Oda’s Recent One Piece Artwork but After Kentaro Miura’s Death I’m Not So Sure Anymore
Image
Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is an absolute masterpiece that has been ruling the anime and manga industry for almost 30 years. While the anime involves third-party elements like animation studios and directors, the manga gets the first-hand essence of the mangaka and thus brings out the true spirit of what he trying to portray through the One Piece story.

Oda’s manga panels and his drawings are among the best in the business and have been appreciated on multiple fronts. But the last few artworks that Oda has illustrated in the One Piece manga might not have been his best work and I have come across a few people who just like me have found some inconsistencies in his drawings within the story.

Berserk might be one of the greatest Seinen stories in existence, but its 2017 anime was a blotch on its reputation. In fact, most fans are more comfortable with believing that the 2017 Berserk anime never even existed.

I Didn’t Think We Could Get a Worse Anime Adaptation Than ‘Berserk’ but I Was Wrong
Image
Ever since I started watching anime, I have believed that adapting a manga or a manhwa into an anime series or movie is one of the most creative and persevering works that, in the end, brings a lot of success and joy. However, this might not always be the case as sometimes, animation studios fail to hit the mark and thus create a piece that is not loved by fans and, in some way, gets criticized by the industry.

The last series that, according to me, failed to adapt to the enticing, adventurous, and dark themes of the manga was Berserk. The Berserk manga was written by Kentaro Miura and is considered one of the most thrilling stories in history; however, its anime adaptation failed to do justice to the series and was considered the biggest anime failure in history by many fans.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Has a Spinoff That Ended Abruptly For the Same Reason Behind Hunter x Hunter Delays
Image
At first, it certainly did feel annoying when our favorite series would just go on hiatus or get delayed or even end abruptly for some reason. But now, after knowing that most such occurrences happen due to the author’s health issues, it’s rather sad or unfortunate than feeling disappointment or anger.

As you might know, Hunter x Hunter author Yoshihiro Togashi has been in a pretty unfortunate health condition over the past few years, and that’s why he can’t properly continue his sensational series.

And recently, the same thing happened with That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and it’s highly concerning for the industry!

Only Kentaro Miura Could Understand the Importance of Shojo Manga Before Using Its Elements in ‘Berserk’

Kentaro Miura understood the importance of the shojo genre long before it became popular. Now, to be fair, there have always been some die-hard shojo fans throughout history.

However, the way the category has been battling popular shonen manga and anime for the top spot in the past few years would be unimaginable even half a decade ago.

Interestingly, though, Kentaro Miura, the creator of one of the most popular seinen manga, Berserk, used to be a fan of the genre since he was young. In fact, many fans might be unaware that Berserk itself was inspired by a few shojo manga series from the 1970s.

The 8 Worst Things Griffith Did In Berserk (& 7 Best)
Image
The dark fantasy manga/anime series Berserk became widely beloved for its interesting and memorable plot twists, especially the Golden Age arc's plot twists. Many fans had reservations about Griffith's disturbingly dark character in the middle of all those plot twists, though. The beautiful and charismatic man was extremely ambitious, though he often ended up making some of the worst decisions in anime history.

His glorious white hair and feminine looks were in contrast with his cruel personality. Throughout the series, Griffith was strong-willed and never hesitated in difficult situations. Despite coming from poverty, he achieved impossible goals and became a noble person and a leader in a new world order after the Great Roar of the Astral World. While most things Griffith did were irredeemable, he also had decisions that resulted in remarkable changes in the mortal realm.

'It's Going To Be Imperfect': Berserk's New Writer Opens Up on Continuing Series After Miura's Passing
Image
Following the passing of original Berserk creator Kentaro Miura, new story supervisor Kouji Mori has revealed his honest thoughts on his duty to continue the beloved series in the years to come.

Berserk fans once again came to terms with the series' future following Kouji Mori's bittersweet afterword in Volume 42, now officially translated into English with Dark Horse Comics' release on March 18, 2025. Mori and Studio Gaga, the studio that Miura set up for him and his assistants, have been responsible for continuing the series. Via Reddit, Mori's afterword says, "Thank you very much for picking up Berserk Volume 42. From here on, it will be Berserk without Miura. Naturally, it's going to be imperfect. I'm sure there are those who will find that hard to accept. I myself feel that same way."

‘Komi Can’t Communicate’ Author Takes a Big Step Away From the Manga Industry for His Family

If you felt like Komi Can’t Communicate ended a little too quickly, you’re not alone. Fans were left scratching their heads, asking themselves why a show that was so great had to conclude so suddenly. But surprise, surprise! We now know why. It seems that Tomohito Oda, the mastermind behind Komi’s adorable, clumsy tale, wanted to get a break from the manga grind to hang out with family, particularly their young child.

‘The Case Study of Vanitas’ Won’t Have a Happy Ending and the Warning Signs Were Always Right in Front of Us
Image
The Case Study of Vanitas became an absolute fan favorite for tapping into the world of vampires, the ever-popular beings that everyone loves. It also garnered much attention because of its gothic atmosphere and historical setup, which almost reminds us of other vampire-centric anime like Hellsing Ultimate.

However, it has very different themes and even more different lore that definitely separates it from any other anime. But the most intriguing part of this show is the way it opens and alludes to its ending right from the beginning.

Usually, a story that is seriously navigating the worlds of cursed vampires already has a structure for a sad ending. However, here, the situations are so inevitable that an unhappy conclusion becomes absolutely apparent.

These 1/10 Anime Are So Bad, You'll Wish You Could Instantly Forget Them Immediately
Image
Anime, like any other medium, has major highs and egregious lows. While there are several anime that are beloved, there are just as many that have their quality disputed. Likewise, some of the worst anime ever made are so bad that no one questions how terrible they are.

The worst anime ever made are infamous and offer next to no redeeming qualities, especially if the visuals or the plot are both horrendous. Some are so terrible that fans would rather forget that they even exist. Unfortunately, their infamy precedes, keeping these dumpster fires well-known in the annals of awful anime.

10 Action Anime That Are (Almost) As Good As Solo Leveling
Image
In the span of just two seasons, the Solo Levelinganime has become one of the most popular and entertaining action series out there, and that invites a lot of comparisons with other action anime. The fandom can point to a few action that are still better, such as the members of the original shonen "big three" and the likes of Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen, but Solo Leveling also has many other action anime beat.

Anyone who's caught up on Solo Leveling and wants more action has probably already seen the very best action anime too, so fans can keep themselves busy with action anime that are almost as good. These action anime titles are roughly on par with Solo Leveling, even if they don't have the same hype, and they have plenty to offer — whether or not they match Solo Leveling's monster hunter vibes.

After Uzumaki, I’m Pretty Sure Berserk Doesn’t Need an Anime Adaptation and Kentaro Miura Is to Blame
Image
When Uzumaki anime was announced, it took the internet by storm. Like most readers and viewers, I too was excited to see how it’d play out. However, to my disappointment, the anime was reduced to a comedy and failed the manga tremendously. This is precisely why some series are better left alone.

“No more 3D CGI please”: ‘Berserk’ Fans Were Scammed Not Once But Twice in Hopes of a Respectable Anime Adaptation
Image
Berserk is a massively popular legacy series that has attracted and captivated millions of fans across generations. Fans have been desperately hoping for an anime adaptation that is worthy of Kentaro Miura’s legendary manga. But each time, they have been met with nothing but disappointment and betrayal.

First, the fans had to stomach the infamous CGI-heavy Berserk (2016) and Berserk (2017) adaptations. They had turned anime into something else, wherein the essence was being overpowered by how stiff the animation was and its lackluster execution.

There seemed to be no hope for a good, more faithful Berserk adaptation until a group (of alleged fans) brought up an idea to fan-make it in the way they had always wanted to see it be made. The fans can trust fellow fans, right? So they did and donated to the cause,...

There Might Be No End to the Suffering of ‘Berserk’ Fans After the Fan Anime Gave Them False Hope
Image
Kentaro Miura’s Berserk might be one of the greatest Seinen titles in history, but the series cannot catch a break in terms of anime adaptation. Berserk is famous for not having a decent anime adaptation, and this has disappointed fans for years who have been hoping for the series to get the fame and recognition it deserves within the anime world.

And when the fans decided to take matters into their own hands, they got shut down by the authorities who hold the legal rights to the intellectual property of the Berserk manga series. This was witnessed during the ongoing controversy of Studio Eclypse, the studio that was creating the fan animation of the Berserk story called Berserk: The Black Swordsman fan animation.

After going through a lot of struggle and tussle with the Japanese publishing company Hakushensha, it looks like Studio Eclypse has finally lost.

Berserk Takes Guts in a Surprisingly Adorable Direction With New Prime 1 Studio Reveal
Image
Berserk has had all kinds of grisly merchandise that's just as dark and gritty as the corresponding manga and anime franchise. However, the latest of these goes in a much more adorable direction, even if it still involves a dark armored version of the franchise's iconic Black Swordsman.

The "Guts Berserker Armor (Phase 0)" figure by Prime 1 Studio reimagines Berserk protagonist Guts as a diminutive collectible in the Cutie1 line. Depicting him in dark armor, the figurine is similar to other "chibi"-style toys from Funko's Pop! line. Grimly endearing, it's easily one of the cutest takes on the character and just one of many Berserk items from Prime 1 Studio.

Kentaro Miura's Berserk manga is a seminal work of dark fantasy that is beloved by millions of manga readers around the globe. Now, Miura fans outside of Japan have the chance to own the ultimate tribute to the artist's greatest series.

French anime enthusiast and blogger Catsuka recently reported on a new international release for The Artwork of Berserk -- a lengthy volume featuring illustrations created over the course of the manga's 30+ year serialization. "The Artwork of Berserk is available to buy online, at an affordable price." Catsuka wrote. CDJapan, an international "proxy" of Chart-Art Online, has started accepting pre-orders for the book. Not including tax or shipping, the base price is approximately 3,850 yen (US$23.77). Due to the relative obscurity of the volume, Japanese resellers typically offer it at much higher prices. Stop Fussing Over No Vagabond Anime Because There is One Seinen Manga With Artwork So Breathtaking It’s a Shame No Studio Has Pounced On It Yet

Takehiko Inoue is often praised for his basketball opus Slam Dunk, but his Seinen manga Vagabond is second to none. It takes the cake in terms of its art, storyline, and character designs. It stands as one of the top rated manga on My Anime List, but the series may have found its archnemesis after all.

10 Manga With Even Better Art Than Their Anime
Image
Even if a manga series and anime tell the same story, the presentation may differ a great deal. Aside from tweaks like censoring graphic content or adding a few extra lines of dialogue, an anime series might look either much better or much worse than the source manga, which may inspire fans to prefer one version or the other. In certain cases, the anime version may look worse due to dated and clunky production values from the time, or the anime might be incapable of capturing the manga's unique art style no matter the budget.

Such is the case for plenty of high-profile anime series, which told the same story as the source manga but could never recapture the same look. At best, these anime series are just an introduction to the original manga, which will treat fans with the definitive version of the story with the perfect art to...
