The much talked about UK horror-thriller Splintered is on its way to a Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack release on March 20th.

Curiosity can be a killer for Simeon Halligan's British horror flick. The movie which arrived on UK DVD shelves back in 2010 will finally arrive on Us shores this March courtesy of Wellgo USA Entertainment. The flick about a legendary woodland creature stars the gorgeous Holly Weston (below), who currently appears as Ash in long-running Channel 4 soap 'Hollyoaks', also stars Stephen Walters ('Hannibal Rising'), Sacha Dhawan, Sadie Pickering, Jonathan Readwin, Sol Heras and Colin Tierney. Splintered, a UK thriller, is making the leap to U.S. DVD, Blu-ray and VOD from Well Go USA Entertainment on March 20th.

Troubled teen Sophie drags her friends deep into a forest in search of a local legend - a wild beast, half animal and half man, that uses its cunning ability and brutal strength to kill for pleasure. But when the beast leads Sophie and her friend, John, to an abandoned orphanage, the hunters become the hunted.

This Friday, September 3rd, Splintered, the debut feature from production company Not A Number and director Simeon Halligan, will be having its UK premiere in the best cinema in London, the Empire Leicester Square, and starting today tickets are on sale for the screening along with an exclusive after party.

One of headlining films at GrimmUpNorth was festival director Simeon Halligan's first feature: Splintered. The GrimmUpNorth horror festival itself was somewhat based around the release of this film, as the producers rented screens at the Printworks Odeon in Manchester as a means to publicise the film, while gathering other various titles to create a one-off festival that managed, as far as I'm concerned, to be a great success. Splintered screened on Saturday evening with a packed-out cinema of eager horror fans, and after a slight technical hitch the film played to great applause. The plot centers around a somewhat emo-ish teenager called Sophie (Holly Weston), who organises a trip to North Wales with her friends, and they drive off in search of a local legend.

GrimmUpNorth is Manchester's premier, horror film festival, running from October 29th - November 1st and including the world premier of 'The Reeds' and screening of 'The Descent 2', with Q&A from cast and director. The festival will be taking place in Manchester's Printworks and Odeon Cinema.

Today we were dropped a line about a new indie horror film from the UK that immediately peaked our interest. Check out Splintered, a film by Simeon Halligan. Over at the official website you won't find too much, but what you can do is watch the trailer that is freakin' awesome.
