Omar Sy will star in the new film by directors Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache; Scanner-Rhodes Productions is producing thriller Squat, which is shooting in London.

Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache will commence shooting social comedy Samba at the end this month, which also stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Tahar Rahim and Izya Higelin. Gaumont, Quad Films and Ten Films are co-producing with Gaumont also handling international sales and French distribution. A release is planned for late 2014.

Principal photography is underway on Nic Auerbach’s Squat, starring Robert Fucilla and Sarah Armstrong alongside Danny Webb, Jonathan Rhodes, Isabelle Allen and Nicky Evans. Written by David Marconi, the thriller centres on a financier, who becomes embroiled in a violent underworld when his multi-million pound house is mysteriously taken over by squatters. Dean Fisher is producing through his company Scanner-Rhodes Productions .

Scanner-Rhodes Productions has begun a five week London shoot for David Marconi’s thriller Squat.

Robert Fucilla and Sarah Armstrong head up the British cast, with Danny Webb, Isabelle Allen, Nicky Evans, Patrick Ryecart, Jonathan Rhodes and Dean Bardini supporting.

The film follows a financier who becomes embroiled in a violent underworld when his multi-million pound house is mysteriously taken over by squatters.

It is Scanner-Rhodes Productions’ seventh feature and follows 2012 crime-thriller Interview with a Hitman, made in partnership with Kaleidoscope Film Distribution, North Star Ventures and Northern Film and Media.

Nick Scott's School Portrait is a short comedy skit that starts hilarious, gets totally depressing, and then ends on a much sweeter note. Jonathan Rhodes is the cranky school photographer — performing his job without those hilariously awful backgrounds with fake tree stumps and star showers. God we miss those — who doesn't like smiling. At all. He gives each child a serious reality check (meanwhile, the little ones have no idea what the hell is going on), and then softens when an adorable redheaded girl melts him ever so slightly. There's no earthly reason why British film-makers shouldn't turn out material in the supernatural thriller genre to rival Hollywood product. But this just isn't it: a silly, relentlessly unscary, and frankly awful film. Kelly Adams and Lucy Evans play students Sarah and Zoe; Zoe is having an affair with her lecturer, and impulsively takes Sarah on a visit to his flat. This, bizarrely, turns out to be the computer-hacking headquarters of a shadowy group led by a wheelchair-using motormouth Declan (Jonathan Rhodes), who is attempting to crack a Dan-Brownish cyberconspiracy involving the Vatican, the Pentagon and who knows what other sinister group, centring on the Bible Code. Ghosts pop up out of nowhere. People are always shouting things like: "Oh my God they're on to us!" while hammering away at their computer keyboards.

If you name it, some poor soul out there is pissed off enough to haunt it! Even your computer is at risk of being seized upon by evil spectres. Just try and find an anti-virus program that can deal with that!
