O.J. Simpson in The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988)
Thursday’s parole board hearing marks the latest twist in the saga of O.J. Simpson‘s fall from grace, which began in 1994 with the killing of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman.

Prior to the killings, Simpson, now 70, was an American hero, his former prowess on the football field matched by his charm as a celebrity pitchman and actor. But after the slayings, in which Simpson quickly became the suspect, details about rage-filled fights with his ex-wife that were fueled by jealousy began to emerge.

In 1995, after the “Trial of the Century,” Simpson was famously acquitted of double murder,...

Quentin Tarantino at an event for The Oscars (2013)
Quentin Tarantino Directed ‘Django’ Like A ‘Tyrant,’ Cursed At Jamie Foxx During Rehearsal — Watch
Quentin Tarantino at an event for The Oscars (2013)
Some filmmakers are notorious control freaks who forbid improvisation on set and want everything to go exactly according to their vision. Quentin Tarantino is one of those filmmakers.

During a stop at The Howard Stern Show this month to promote his new Fox game show “Beat Shazam,” Jamie Foxx reminisced on just how controlling Tarantino could be by quoting one of his moments on the set of “Django Unchained.”

Read More: The ‘Django Unchained’ Cheat Sheet: 10 Things That Will Help You Understand Tarantino’s Referential Bloodfest

Tarantino, who Foxx lovingly refers to as a “tyrant” on set, did not like the way the actor was interpreting Django. Instead of playing a long-suffering slave at the beginning of the movie, Foxx was leaning into the character’s coolness, much to the disapproval of Tarantino. Let’s just say the director made sure Foxx got the message.

According to Foxx’s spot-on impersonation,...

Eventually, the group supported his cause. “The Ali Summit” explores the intersection of civil rights and sports that continues to resonate today, and tracks the FBI’s crusade against Ali, Brown and other black leaders in the lead-up to Ali’s arrest for draft evasion at the peak.

Tim Burton
Tim Burton offered a strange excuse for the lack of diversity in 'Miss Peregrine'
Tim Burton
Over the weekend, Tim Burton’s adaptation of the novel Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by author Ransom Riggs hits theaters. Reviews are tepid but not 2016 summer blockbuster bad. With its PG-13 rating and lack of significant demographic competition at the cinema, the box office draw could be decent. All that has to happen is for no one involved in the film to say something horrible and/or racist. Dammit, Tim Burton! When speaking to The Bustle about Miss Peregrine, the topic of on-screen diversity came up. After all, with the exception of Samuel L. Jackson as the villainous Barron, the film is very white. Tim Burton had…words…to say: “Nowadays, people are talking about it more […]things either call for things, or they don’t. I remember back when I was a child watching The Brady Bunch and they started to get all politically correct, like,...

Clint Eastwood's Caitlyn Jenner Joke Will Be Cut from Spike TV's Guys' Choice Awards
A joke Clint Eastwood made at Caitlyn Jenner's expense will not air during the broadcast of Spike TV's Guys' Choice 2015 Awards next month.

While pre-taping the ceremony on Saturday night, Eastwood, 85, was introducing actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and remarked on the San Andreas star's transition from athlete to actor. According to USA Today, Eastwood then reportedly compared Johnson's career leap to those of "Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody."

The show, which was filmed at Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, California, was dubbed "unpredictable" by Spike TV in press materials, USA Today reported.

Caitlyn Jenner
Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood isn’t immune to flops, as evidenced by a joke the director made at Caitlyn Jenner’s expense on Saturday during the taping of Spike TV’s “Guys Choice Awards.” Eastwood was on hand to present a trophy to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and during his introduction, the legendary actor-director referenced other athletes who went on to acting careers. “ Jim Brown or Caitlyn-somebody,” Eastwood said, referring to the former Bruce Jenner who revealed her female form last week on the cover of Vanity Fair. The joke failed to amuse the crowd, which included Salma Hayek, Jake Gyllenhaal,...

Clint Eastwood's Caitlyn Jenner Joke Will Be 'Removed' From TV Broadcast
Clint Eastwood's Caitlyn Jenner quip is being forced off Spike TV's lawn. According to USA Today, the network plans to cut a joke Eastwood made about Jenner in the "Guys' Choice" awards broadcast that airs June 18.

The event itself was held Saturday night. When introducing Dwayne Johnson for an award, Eastwood compared The Rock to former athletes who have become actors, "like Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody..." USA Today heard from David Schwarz, Spike TV senior vice president of communications, who confirmed Eastwood's quote and said, "We will remove the reference in the version that will air."

Censorship. But Spike can do what it wants with its content. In that way, it's like Comedy Central cutting Paul Walker jokes from Justin Bieber's roast, although of course Caitlyn Jenner is still alive, it's a very different kind of sensitivity. It's a shame, though, because it's only going to...

Drum – The Blu Review
Mandingo, a 1975 movie based on the best-selling period potboiler by Kyle Onstott about sexual shenanigans between masters and slaves on the Falconhurst slave-breeding plantation, was savaged by critics who saw it as nothing but degrading, big-budget exploitation. Roger Ebert called it “racist trash”, a “piece of manure”, and “excruciating to sit through”. Mandingo certainly had it all; brutal violence, interracial sex, rape, infanticide, lynchings, and abundant nudity including full-frontal shots of it’s male star, boxer Ken Norton. But of course it was a huge hit and inspired a brief run of “slaverysploitation” films such as Passion Plantation (1975 aka Black Emmanuelle, White Emmanuelle ) and the cleverly titled Mandiga (1976). Mandingo was overwrought melodrama to be sure, but it’s a model of subtlety compared to its official sequel, the more lascivious Drum, a mean-spirited trash epic from 1976 that would never fly in today’s politically correct climate. Despite its spaghetti western trappings,...

Michael Sam Cut by the St. Louis Rams
Jeff Fisher
The St. Louis Rams have cut Michael Sam, the first openly gay player drafted by an NFL team. I think we represented many of the best episodes from this fertile early period, but if I had been about to select four or five, I could have easily done it. My greatest regret is that we didn't have room for "Selma's Choice," which has possibly my favorite opening of the entire series --...
