- Darren's first role was as Sam Neill's picture double and stand-in, for the character "Colin'', in director/actor Jeremy Sim's film "Rams" (2020).
He has since performed in both extra and featured extra roles in productions such as Jordon Prince-Wright's independent World War I feature film "Before Dawn" (2024) and the 1970s set Australian outback feature film "Kid Snow" (2024).
Additional feature extra and extras work in television, includes performing in two episodes of the second season of popular children's series 'ITCH' (2020); the Screentime miniseries "The Claremont Murders" (2023); the Stan miniseries "Invisible Boys" (2025); and season three of "The Twelve" scheduled for release in 2025.
Darren performed as the character "Sal" in the latest short-film project "Twelve Years" (2023) by filmmaker Alex Lorian, director of "Good for Nothing Blues" (2022) and "Subject 36" (2017).
He has been cast in supporting roles for two independent feature films. As "Wayne Flanagan" in writer/director Brad Newland's latest independent feature film "Remotely Famous" (2025) and follow up feature, "Outback Dale" (2026); and as "Mick 'Popeye'" (plus extras roles as two prison inmates) in "Frederickstown" by Adam Morris - writer/director of "Edward & Isabella" (2022) and "Frank & Frank (or The Valley and the Walrus: Ruminations on the Mystery from Soup to Nuts)" (2023). "Frederickstown" is scheduled for release, early 2026.
Darren has credited his inspiration to pursue a career in film and television after his experience performing "off-screen" during a scene in "Rams" (2020), working opposite Australian actor Michael Caton (character 'Les'). Additional work assisting in the blocking of scenes with Director Jeremy Sims and DOP Steve Arnold in the same production, further galvanised his desire to develop and expand his skills and experience in performance acting.
He has trained in the 'Chubbuck Technique', under the expert guidance of actor Anthony Brandon Wong, known for "Matrix Revolutions"(2003), "Matrix Reloaded"(2003) and more recently, the Binge mini-series "The Twelve" (2024), starring Sam Neill.- IMDb mini biography by: Anonymous

- During the filming of Rams (2020) was cast as picture-double and stand-in for the character of 'Colin' (Sam Neill) and performed many of the driving scenes. This also involved being partnered with the animal hero of the film, 'Locke' the ram. Most of the scenes featuring Colin's ram in the back of the farm ute were in fact filmed with a fake prop ram, as the real Locke the ram found travelling in the back of the ute for any lengthy periods of time very stressful.
- Performed opposite Peter Rowsthorne in multiple minor character roles in Adam Morris's independent film 'Frederickstown'.
