Hazbin Hotel Creator Teases An Og Villain Having A Bigger Role In Season 2
Image
The primary conflict of Hazbin Hotel is shifting for season 2, as recently teased by the show's creator. Hazbin Hotel season 2 is coming to Amazon Prime Video on Oct. 29, 2025, following up on Princess Charlie Morningstar (Erika Henningsen) and her found family's efforts to redeem sinners after their defeat of Adam (Alex Brightman).

However, Hazbin Hotel season 1 set up some other intriguing subplots, with Charlie's facilities manager Alastor (Amir Talai) clearly harboring ulterior motives and hiding much about his past. We do know that he has a long-standing rivalry with "the Vees" — a trio of powerful overlords and media titans in Hell — especially their spokesman Vox (Christian Borle).

At the Hellaverse's panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, where ScreenRant was in attendance, Hazbin Hotel creator Vivienne Medrano hinted that Vox is essentially the main villain of season 2. "He's a lot more of a present villain than Adam," said Medrano, hinting that the focus...

'Hazbin Hotel' Season 2 Will Reveal New Sides of This Fan-Favorite Demon [Exclusive]
Image
San Diego Comic-Con 2025 brought plenty of devilish delights for fans of Hazbin Hotelduring the Hellaverse panel on July 24, and one of the most exciting teases from the Collider Interview Studio with Perri Nemiroff came courtesy of Amir Talai, the voice behind the infamous Radio Demon, Alastor. Season 2, Talai promises, is set to peel back layers of the character in ways fans have never seen before.

Alastor’s Personality Gets “More Colors”

When asked how this new season challenges him as a performer, Talai explained that Season 2 pushed him to explore previously unseen facets of Alastor’s personality. “The singing was more challenging. It gave me more opportunities to let go,” he teased before creator Vivienne "ViziePop" Medrano jumped in to add, "Season 2, we get into a lot of sides of Alastor. And I think in that way, you know, I think you had to kind of play around with his...

‘Hazbin Hotel's Cast Teases the Next Viral Song Will be Between an Unexpected Duo [Exclusive]
Image
Hazbin Hotel has made a name for itself with its bold animation style, sharp humor, and theatrical, Broadway-inspired musical numbers. With Season 2 on the horizon, the cast is already teasing which track could become the show’s next viral hit, and according to Erika Henningsen (voice of Charlie Morningstar), the standout moment is a song between Charlie and none other than Niffty, voiced by Kimiko Glenn.

During Collider’s Interview Studio session at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Henningsen was asked by Perri Nemiroff about a behind-the-scenes clip from last year’s Collider Ladies Night where she was interviewed. While the clip sparked plenty of speculation about what Henningsen was recording at that moment, she has now confirmed what was teased in the footage, which only builds the excitement for Season 2 further. “That little moment is a small section I have in a solo song for Niffty. And the song is so good,...

Hazbin Hotel’s Controversial Season 1 Group Recasting Explained
Image
Five long years after Vivziepop’s 2019 release of the Hazbin Hotel YouTube pilot “That’s Entertainment!”, the animated musical series returned for its first season on Amazon Prime. However, the highly-anticipated release of Hazbin Hotel season 1 brought with it a major change that was met with criticism from the series’ cult following.

Between the 2019 release of the YouTube pilot and the 2024 release of season 1 via Amazon Prime and A24, Vivziepop re-auditioned each major role, leading to a group recasting of Hazbin Hotel. This new Hazbin Hotel season 1 cast was met with a good deal of pushback from Hellaverse fans who had been following the project since its Patreon-funded inception, and vague communication from the show creator led to speculation about the reasons behind this drastic change. However, the fact that Hazbin Hotel season 1 set a Prime Video streaming record seems to indicate that the change may have been for the better.

Another Trailer for 'The Present' Time Travel Comedy with Isla Fisher
Image
"What are we supposed to do with a giant, broken clock that nobody wants?" Gravitas Venture in the US has unveiled a new official US trailer for a wacky time travel comedy about a family called The Present. It's set for a US debut in June after opening first in the UK this month. A boy discovers that he can manipulate time using a family heirloom - an old grandfather clock. He teams up his siblings in returning to the time of their parents' initial separation in hopes of changing the outcome and stopping them from divorcing. Oh boy, that sounds awkward. Actors Isla Fisher & Greg Kinnear star as the parents, with an ensemble cast including Ryan Guzman, Shay Rudolph, Amir Talai, Alphonso McAuley, Easton Rocket Sweda, Sarah Jane MacKay, Mason Shea Joyce, and Eric Tiede. This plays a bit better than the other trailer we posted before, but it still seems like made-for-streaming cheesiness.

How ‘Hazbin Hotel’ Explores What It Means to Be Human in a Hellish Place
Image
[This story contains mild spoilers for season one of Hazbin Hotel.]

“On paper, there’s a lot of people that might say no to something like this — a very raunchy animated musical comedy world written by a young woman,” Hazbin Hotel star Stephanie Beatriz tells The Hollywood Reporter. But for the Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Encanto actress, showrunner Vivienne Medrano’s “weird, cool, fantastical imagination” has produced a series that is not only “delightfully horny, unhinged and ridiculous,” but uniquely special beyond its “small minutiae of cock jokes.

“It somehow manages to have this throughline of true gay love and this very big idea about whether it’s possible to redeem a soul, to change after being damned for all time,” she says of A24’s first foray into animation and Prime Video’s latest push into the medium’s R-rated adult space. “I just love Vivienne’s world-building.”

Broadway star and lead voice actress Erika Henningsen offers similar praise.

A24’s Hazbin Hotel Sets Prime Video Streaming Record
Image
Hazbin Hotel breaks streaming record on Prime Video, becoming the most-watched new animated title globally. The show follows Charlie's goal of rehabilitating demons in Hell and opens up a hotel to save them from Heaven's wrath. Early reviews praise the show's fascinating characters, catchy music, and stunning animation, with a focus on the timeless theme of redemption and rehabilitation.

Following its January 19 debut, A24's long-awaited Hazbin Hotel has set a new streaming record for Prime Video. The animated musical series, created by Vivienne Medrano (also known as VivziePop), was introduced to audiences in 2019 through a pilot on YouTube (now boasting over 90 million views). Years later, loyal fans and new audiences can finally enjoy an entire season of the show - and numbers are showing that they are. According to Prime Video, Hazbin Hotel had the highest global viewership for a new animated title on the streamer.

‘Hazbin Hotel’ Creator on Representing Sex Workers, Redemption and Going From YouTube to A24
Image
Hazbin Hotel, the first foray into animation for award-winning studio A24, is actually not new, despite having debuted on Prime Video just last Friday.

The R-rated musical comedy originated online as a 30-minute pilot in 2019 and quickly won over a fanbase that has largely stuck by it since its self-funded days. The series follows princess of Hell Charlie Morningstar (Erika Henningsen), who in an attempt to stop the angels from murderously purging her demonic subjects, opens a hotel to help rehabilitate them. The goal: Turn these sinners into saints unable to be wiped out by the (unsettlingly terrifying) angels.

She’s joined — in certain cases against their will — by friends, funders and her father (that’s Lucifer voiced by Jeremy Jordan). That includes Charlie’s grounded girlfriend Vaggie (Stephanie Beatriz); exasperated bartender Husk (Keith David); sex worker and rehabilitation Guinea pig Anthony “Angel Dust” (Blake Roman); Alastor the “Radio Demon...

Hazbin Hotel Star Jeremy Jordan Channeled Robin Williams’ Genie to Play Lucifer
Image
Jeremy Jordan channeled Robin Williams' Genie from Aladdin for his portrayal of Lucifer in Hazbin Hotel, attempting to be constantly funny and insecure. Hazbin Hotel creator Vivienne Medrano praises Jordan's charm and singing ability, saying he brought a lot to the role of Lucifer. Hazbin Hotel premiered on Prime Video with the first four episodes, and a second season has been confirmed.

Robin Williams famously voiced the shape-shifting and wish granting Genie for Disney's Aladdin, improvising most of his lines. The role gained Williams critical praise, and the character remains one of the most beloved in animated film history. While Williams' Genie, who provides much of the comic relief in Aladdin, might not seem like the obvious source of inspiration for an actor portraying Lucifer, it's precisely who Hazbin Hotel's Jeremy Jordan tried to channel for his version of the King of Hell. During a recent interview, Jordan told...

Hazbin Hotel Cast on Their Lucifer, Alastor, and Niffty Characters
Image
Lucifer may not be what you expect him to be in Hazbin Hotel, the hot new series spawned by creator Vivienne Medrano, whose ridiculously popular animated YouTube hit had fans worldwide begging for more. For starters, the D-man doesn’t show up until episode five of Prime Video’s raunchy R-rated animated comedy, which is filled with great humor and musical numbers. Jeremy Jordan plays Devil Papa with deadbeat dad delight in a series that finds Lucifer’s daughter, Charlie (Erika Henningsen), running a one-of-a-kind hotel geared to redeemable misfits that may get a shot in Heaven.

Packed with celebrated Broadway stars, irreverent humor, and at least one major musical number every episode, fans of offbeat, animated comedies will appreciate Hazbin Hotel. MovieWeb called it a "devilishly delightful animated musical series." The Broadway and TV stars filtering in and out are a big plus: From Darren Criss and Stephanie Beatriz...

Does Jason Statham Voice Zelestial In Hazbin Hotel? Why Viewers Are Convinced He's Involved In The Show
Image
Jason Statham is not a voice actor in Hazbin Hotel, contrary to popular belief. The speculation about Statham's involvement began when Amazon Prime Video mistakenly listed him as the voice of Zestial Morde. The character Zelestial in Hazbin Hotel is actually voiced by Jason Monroe Igelheart, not Jason Statham.

One question that has been plaguing viewers of Hazbin Hotel is whether or not Jason Statham has a role in the animated Prime Video series. Hazbin Hotel has had an unconventional history, as its first episode was released on YouTube in 2019. It became a massive and unexpected success, which led to A24 ordering a full season for Hazbin Hotel. It then took four years to release, but as of January 19, 2024 viewers are able to finally enjoy the first season of the adult animated musical comedy series. It follows the story of the princess of Hell, Charlie Morningstar, as she opens and...

Hazbin Hotel Stars Chat Up the Series Epic World-Building, LGBTQ+ Characters, and More

As a way of bringing a non-violent alternative to reducing Hell's overpopulation, the bright-eyed daughter of Lucifer, a.k.a. the devil, opens a rehabilitation hotel so that misfit demons get a chance at redemption. The goal: Get them to Heaven. It’s all part of the hellish hijinks happening in Hazbin Hotel, the highly anticipated animated comedy series from Vivienne Medrano, whose pilot episode garnered more than 92 million views when it dropped back in 2019.

Prime Video grabs the creative baton, keeping Medrano on board as showrunner and ushers in a slew of Broadway stars — Jeremy Jordan, Erika Henningsen, Stephanie Beatriz, Darren Criss, and many more — to breathe life (or afterlife) into the popular characters. “I just love that there's this very gay love story in the middle of all this absolutely unhinged, bananas comedy [with] songs, joke on joke, then there's this really core central relationship that is so grounded and real,...
