Biography

    • Born as Ryan James Doherty, (26th March 1995) Ryan O'Doherty is an actor, writer and artist. He was born in London to parents Paul Doherty and Deborah Hornigold, two retired Detectives of the Metropolitan Police. He is the youngest of three siblings.

      Ryan studied Philosophy, Ethics, English and Psychology at the John Fisher boys school in South London. Later he was sponsored by a local theatre company to train at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and then undertook a masters degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the internationally renowned, University Arts London.

      In 2021, Ryan appeared in a variety of short films, including Alissa Autschbach's, Little Fantasies, as "Rob". Little Fantasies went on to win awards at Manchester Film Festival and Rhode Island Film Festival. In 2022, Ryan was cast as "Hugo" in season 2 of Marvel's Disney series Loki (2021) (2023). Ryan stars in the feature film, Sam Taylor-Johnson's, Back to Black (2024), as Chris Taylor. He then made his return to the stage, starring in the classical play, William Shakespeare's, Othello, as Cassio for which he was nominated two awards and noted for his mastery of classical text.

      Beyond acting, Ryan has won awards for his self produced work. ANKYLOGLOSSIA" (2022) was Ryan's first short film which screened at LA Indie Film Festival, nominated Best Micro Film and best short. He is an advocate for charity, mental health and well-being campaigns such as Movember, Mind and Acting For Others.
