Biography

Olga Spyraki was born in Boston, USA. She has studied both theater and dance; she completed her studies as a dancer with one year final supplementary studies at Professional Balllet School of GNO (Greek National Opera), as a certified graduate of Rallou Manou professional dance School of Greece, she is a top graduate of department of Theater Studies of Patras Univercity in GR, and she is a postgraduate of COMMA master of co creation in movement/ choreography joint degree by Codarts and Fontys Universities NL. In 2018 she was chosen by David Zambrano to follow the EXIN 30-day workshop of 'Flying Low" and "Passing Through" technique, led by him. She has attended intensives with RootlessRoot in fighting monkey, Theodore Terzopoulos in Attis International summer master class for theater, with DV8 and Loyd Newson, Hannes Langolf in movement creation based on text research.

She has performed in internationally acclaimed festivals and venues of Greece. at Athens and EpidaurusFestival, in Onassis Cultural Center Main Stage, in Kalamata International Dance Festival, in Bienalle Athens, Documenta Athens, National Theatre of Greece - experimental Stage, Athens Video Dance Project - Promenade.

As a dancer and performer she has collaborated with choreographers Ermira Goro (ALB/GR), Kostas Tsioukas/EAR17 dance company (GR), Mariela Nestora - Yelp dance company (GR), Gens D' Uterpan (FR), Nigel Charnock (UK), Ana Sanchez Goldberg (PR, UK), Patricia Apergi - Aerites dance company (Epidavrus Leceum/ GR), among others and directors Romeo Castellucci (IT), Michael Marmarinos (GR), Evgenia Tzirtzilaki, (GR) Martha Frintzila (Epidavrus Leceum/ GR), Rob Rosnowski (USA), among others.

She has performed in cinema, for director Ferdinando Cito Filomarino - film "Born to be Murdered" (role Bee Woman) .

As a choreographer for theater and opera in Greece she has collaborated with Patras Municipality Theater, Onassis Cultural Center, Bios theater, directors Theo Abazis, Michael Seibel, Yannis Houvardas, among others. She has been commissioned as choreographer for TEDEX Patras 2018 opening ceremony and for IRIS awards ceremony by Hellenic Film Academy 2017. Her creations have been selected and presented at festivals in Greece (Akropoditi Dance Festival, Feedback in Progress Kinitiras festival, Reborn in Athens Festival, Greek Choreographers Association festival).

As a teacher she is regular movement and contemporary dance teacher and at Patras Municipality Drama School (artistic director Cezaris Grauzinis), and at Duncan Dance and Research Center (artistic director Penelope Iliaskou). She has been teaching contemporary dance and improvisation classes since 2009.
