On April 25, Sadako of the Ring J-horror series threw out the first pitch at the Tokyo Dome when the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters played the Chiba Lotte Marines. Now she’s getting her own baseball card.
Bbm will include the Sadako card in their 2012 Second Version, which is due out in August.
While the majority of cards typically feature players, Bbm has been known to throw in a few ceremonial first pitchers in the past such as Aya Ueto, Maomi Yuuki, and Aki Hoshino. Sadako is presumably the first physical manifestation of a vengeance-fueled curse to have the honor.
Sadako’s first pitch was part of a big promotional push for Sadako 3D, which is currently in theaters.

This sequel to the 2007 blockbuster, directed by Michael Bay and produced by Steven Spielberg, sees Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox return to action when Sam (Labeouf) discovers something about the origins of the Transformers and their history on Earth, triggering the return of Megatron and more evil Decepticons to try and capture him, leading to a Transformer-smackdown like no other somewhere in Egypt.
