Producer Savita Raj Hiremath’s 2006 Bollywood cult classic “Khosla Ka Ghosla!” is being remade in the Telugu, Marathi and Kannada languages, it was revealed on the sidelines of the Busan International Film Festival’s Asian Contents and Film Market.

Directed by Dibakar Banerjee and written by Jaideep Sahni, the Hindi-language film followed Khosla, a Delhi-based retired middle-class man who tries to get his land back from a swindling property dealer with the help of his sons and their friends.

The Kannada version will be directed by Adarsh Eshwarappa (“Shuddhi”), the Telugu version by Vinod Anantoju (“Middle Class Melodies”) and the Marathi one by Kedar Shinde (“Baipan Bhari Deva”).

To introduce the movie I want to quote IMDb: “A Delhi based retired middle class man tries half-heartedly to get his land back from a swindling property dealer with the help of his sons and their friends.’’ But, this synopsis hardly contains the movie. In my opinion, it is actually a great heist movie in the history of Indian cinema rather than a drama. Though, it is not a conventional good-old-fashioned heist movie as I’ll explain later.

The movie is directed by Dibakar Banerjee and it won the National Award for best film in the year 2007. What is it that makes me watch this movie again and again and again? Here are some of the reasons out of many.

The movie develops around a time when the capital city of India was on the verge of an expansion, due to a huge population boom.

Mumbai, July 3: Tara Sharma, who shifted to television with her own children's show after acting in films like "Om Jai Jagdish", "Khosla Ka Ghosla" and "Masti", says a comeback to the big screen will only happen if she gets something amazing to do.

Tara's show is titled "The Tara Sharma Show".

"For me, what has been very rewarding is creating my own show because I conceptualised it, I am co-producing it and I am hosting it," the 36-year-old said here Tuesday at the opening of an ice cream parlour.

Mumbai, May 6: Filmmaker Anurag Basu, who started his direction career with 1996 hit daily soap "Tara", says films should not be considered superior to television and adds that filmmaking is easier.

He also directed TV shows "Star Bestsellers" and "Koshish... Ek Aashaa" before making his big screen debut with 2003 movie "Saaya" starring John Abraham and Tara Sharma.

Mumbai, Dec 16: A bevy of celebrities from the showbiz industry, including actress Lisa Haydon, Tara Sharma and VJ Anusha Dandekar, put on their running shoes here to be a part of Pinkathon 2012, a race to create awareness for breast cancer.

Actress Karisma Kapoor flagged off the race Sunday.

"My mom is a cancer survivor. Her cancer was detected at a very early stage and she survived the disease. I had to be a part of this race," Anusha said.

Pinkathon 2012 has been organised for the first time in Mumbai. It was divided into three categories - 10-km race, 5-km race and 3-km race.

The 10-km run saw 50 female police.

"10ml Love" is writer-director Sharat Katariya's take on Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". It is a well adapted and simple contemporary story set in an Indian milieu.

The film opens with a bunch of Ramlila artistes rehearsing for a show, and slowly merges into the world of the three main couples in the story. The lives of the three couples are smoothly interlocked and connected by the celebrations of Shweta (Tara Sharma).
