Ben Ross is Chief Content Officer of Image Nation Abu Dhabi and Chief Operating Officer of twofour54 Abu Dhabi.
Under Ben's guidance, Image Nation Abu Dhabi won an Academy Award in 2019 for Best Documentary in respect of Free Solo and is currently the only Middle Eastern based studio to have multiple local projects on the leading global streaming platform, Netflix. Ben has been responsible for the creation of award-winning local content including the first Emirati TV series on Netflix Justice, and critically acclaimed film Scales - winner of the Verona Film Club Award at the Venice International Film Festival in 2019.
Under his tenure as COO at twofour54, Ben has steered the diversification of Abu Dhabi's creative industries with the launch of Abu Dhabi Gaming - an initiative dedicated to the growth of the gaming and esports industries in the region - and the launch of twofour54's Yas Creative Hub - a brand new home for media and entertainment in the Middle East that is set to triple the size of the creative sector in Abu Dhabi. Ben led the crucial streamlining of productions during the Covid-19 pandemic which allowed Abu Dhabi to be one of only a handful of countries able to continue production during lockdown.
Ben has spearheaded a number of strategic partnerships, including a landmark multi-project deal with MBC Studios and Majid Al Futtaim which released its first feature film Bloodline in 2020, and a partnership with MBC Studios, Image Nation and twofour54 which led to the creation of the world's first Arabic language soap opera Inheritance.
Ben's career started over two decades ago with Oscar-winning producer Scott Rudin (No Country For Old Men) where he worked on such films as Clueless and Sabrina. He then spent four years working for the management/production Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, where he specialized in management, working closely with such clients as Brad Pitt and Courtney Cox.
After then working for director Martin Brest (Beverly Hills Cop, Scent of a Woman), Ben spent several years writing/directing/producing films on his own, including producing The Young Kieslowski (winner of the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival Audience Award).
