Drake headlined the three-day Wireless Festival at Finsbury Park in London over the weekend and it was a star-studded, surprise guest-filled affair. Lauryn Hill, 21 Savage, Rema, Vanessa Carlton, and more joined the rapper throughout the weekend.
On Friday, Drake set the theme for the night. “This is the first time in my life that I’ve done three different shows on three different days,” Drake told the crowd, per Billboard. “You came to a very special night. It’s night one. It’s a celebration of all things R&b.

There are a whole lot of new titles hitting Netflix this month, from documentaries, to TV series, to films both new and old. It can be pretty overwhelming.
If you’re here, that likely means you want an easier, more curated selection — specifically something that will make you laugh. We’ve got you covered. Netflix’s July slate isn’t as comedy-heavy as perhaps it usually is, but there are still some gems.
Below, you can find seven of the best comedies new to Netflix in July.
Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans stars as two FBI agents who go undercover in “White Chicks.” (Columbia) White Chicks
A Wayans Brothers classic, “White Chicks” is now available to stream on Netflix. Centering on two Black cops who go undercover as white socialites, the movie boasts a cast including Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Terry Crews, Busy Phillips and more. Plus, it’s probably...

“Can I have your attention, please?” goes the opening line of “Gone,” the first track on Haim’s fourth studio album, I Quit. It feels like a statement of intent, as the album see Danielle, Alana, and Este Haim leaning into their pop tendencies on their most radio-friendly album to date.
Lead single “Relationships,” for one, comes armed with a breezy, instantly memorable pop hook and Instagram-ready refrain: “When an innocent mistake/Turns into 17 days/Fucking relationships.” Elsewhere, “All Over Me” alternately takes its cues from country-pop, which is currently seeing a resurgence, and Midnights-era Taylor Swift.
Across the album’s 15 tracks, though, the sister trio seems conflicted as to whether they want to fully embrace a safer mainstream approach or follow their bolder instincts. The aforementioned “Gone”—which is based around a sample of George Michael’s beloved “Freedom! ’90” that an accompanying press release hilariously suggests is some kind...

Welcome to The B-Side! Here we talk about movie stars and movie directors! Not the movies that made them famous or kept them famous, but the ones that they made in between. Sometimes we are lucky enough to even speak with them about their work. And sometimes, they are both a movie star and a movie director. Today that’s Julia Stiles, director of Wish You Were Here, now in theaters and available digitally on February 4th.
Our B-Sides today include O, The Business of Strangers, and It’s a Disaster. Stiles discusses the filmmakers she’s worked with in the past and how they influenced her decisions sitting in the director’s chair (the best ones “set a tone of calmness” she says), making friends on the South Carolina set of O, and becoming more intentional with the creative choices in her career (including auditioning for Silver Linings Playbook...

Time Cut, Netflix’s newest foray into the YA slasher genre, arrives just in time to set a spooky tone for Halloween with a killer soundtrack to boot. This dark thriller stars Antonia Gentry (Ginny & Georgia) and Madison Bailey (Outer Banks) as siblings separated by two decades due to an eerie, time-travel twist. As Lucy (Bailey) discovers a mysterious machine on the anniversary of her sister Summer’s (Gentry) death, she seizes the chance to go back in time, hoping to save Summer from the clutches of the sinister “Sweetly Slasher.” But time travel isn’t simple—Lucy must avoid disrupting the future, all while navigating a nostalgic yet dangerous past.
What sets Time Cut apart is its ability to balance suspense and humor without taking itself too seriously. With echoes of Happy Death Day and Back to the Future, the film taps into nostalgic ’80s slasher vibes while keeping a modern,...

Warning! This post contains spoilers for Time Cut.
Netflix's Time Cut not only walks viewers through a compelling sci-fi drama but also drops fascinating pop-culture references from the early 2000s. Directed by Hannah MacPherson, Time Cut tries to create a mishmash of several different genres by using time travel as its primary narrative device. It presents the familiar tale of a teenage girl who accidentally ends up in the past, giving her the opportunity to change the future for good.
Unfortunately, despite having an intriguing premise, the Netflix time travel movie has failed to leave its mark among critics. It holds an underwhelming Rotten Tomatoes score of 17%, with many criticizing the movie for its inability to bring something new to the table. However, with all the criticism, Time Cut is also earning some appreciation for its accurate depiction of the mid-aughts and notalgic references and nods to the period's pop culture.

Netflix’s latest YA film, a slasher in multiple senses of the word, has arrived just in time for Halloween. The spooky film stars Antonia Gentry (Ginny & Georgia) and Madison Bailey (Outer Banks) as the Field sisters separated by time and space — twenty years of it. The film begins with Lucy (Madison Bailey) living the life of your normal average teenager on the anniversary of her sister’s death.
Bailey’s Lucy, who wants to intern for NASA in Washington D.C. over the summer and has the brains to figure out time travel, stumbles upon a mysterious machine at the site of her sister’s death back that allows her to go back in time to the early aughts from the current day to try and save Gentry’s Summer from a serial killer known as the Sweetly Slasher. For Millennials, Time Cut opens with perhaps the scariest cinematic moment of the year. For here is a slasher dealing in nostalgia for a bygone era, a time so long ago that you can now pointedly revive its fashion and music and cultural references as a wink-nudge counterpoint to the present day. That particular era? 2003. Time really does come for us all.
While the text card “April 13 2003” is likely to invoke more terror than anything else in the film, Time Cut remains a cheap and just-about-cheerful-enough 91-minute romp, with one or two interesting ideas among all the throwback references. This is the latest in the burgeoning ‘slash-up’ genre, taking the masked-killer horror trope and smashing it into another subgenre – and it comes with a script co-penned by one of the pioneers of the movement, Michael Kennedy, who co-wrote body-swap slasher Freaky, and the festive It’s A Wonderful Knife. Curiously, it...

Warning! This post contains spoilers for Time Cut.
Netflix's Time Cut not only presents a thrilling time travel story that switches between two timelines but also makes good use of its background score to reflect the time period it is set in. In its opening moments, Time Cut briefly features a segment from 2003 before jumping ahead to the present day and introducing its main character, Lucy. However, after setting the foundation for its main character beats, the movie unfolds its time travel narrative and falls back into its 2003 timeline.
Directed by Hannah Macpherson, Time Cut cleverly reflects these timeline shifts in its narrative through several subtle narrative devices. For instance, when Lucy finds herself in 2003, the first thing she notices is the mid-aughts fashion. The more her story progresses in the 2003 timeline, the more the movie features original songs from the time to effectively instill nostalgia in viewers who grew up during that period.

As Hilary Duff once said, let's go back, back to the beginning. And in Netflix's new horror movie Time Cut, that's exactly what Lucy does. Outer Banks star Madison Bailey leads the movie as Lucy, a teenager who travels back in time from 2024 to 2003 and must save her sister from being the next victim of the Sweetly Slasher serial killer.
Being a period piece (who else shuddered at the thought of movie taking place in 2003 being a period piece?), Time Cut features a number of throwback songs from the early 2000s, including a signature and iconic cut from the aforementioned pop icon Hilary Duff. If you think these early aughts songs are "so yesterday," think again!

Team Snoop: Christina Eagle (Grade: A+) defeated Gail Bliss (Grade: A) on “Redneck Woman” | Though the country singers were exceedingly well-matched on their rollicking Gretchen Wilson cover, I had to give the edge, however slight, to Christina. Gail sounded radio-ready and record-perfect, but so did her opponent — and her opponent has the more interesting voice.

The more I know you the more I know I love you . . . and you have introduced me to parts of myself I was afraid to love. And now I love Me more because of you. So really this is all about me. Just kidding. What a gift you are.

“America’s Got Talent” always has some incredible performances on-screen, but sometimes, greatness happens during commercial breaks, too. That was the case this week, when host Terry Crews gave the audience a performance of “A Thousand Miles” in between act setups.
Luckily, someone was on hand with their phone, and captured the moment. Crews posted the video on TikTok, with the caption “Always ready for this song! The perfect @agt audience hype song!”

It’s impossible to forget Shania Twain’s video for “You’re Still the One,” where she strolls down the beach in a hazy blue light under a full moon (don’t confuse it with “Forever and for Always” — that’s a different beach vibe). The song is one of the many, many singles from 1997’s Come On Over, her biggest album that now hits millennials with pangs of nostalgia. Case in point: Christian Lee Hutson just dropped a cover of “You’re Still the One” with Julia Jacklin, and it’s excellent.

If you're one to lust after your celebrity crushes, Vanessa Carlton can relate. The three-time Grammy nominee seems to have taken her "crush" to the next level, because she revealed that her 2002 song "A Thousand Miles" isn't about someone she dated Irl. It's actually about a "famous actor" that may not have even known she existed at the time. In an interview with Vice on April 11, Vanessa shared, "The song is about a crush I had on a Juilliard student." However, she explained that it was very one-sided: "I would never talk to this person. I was very shy. I was like, 'There's just no way on God's creation that this...

DuPont and a large ensemble that includes Hamilton’s Tamar Greene and Jared Dixon have recorded the new song and music video “Walkout,” dropping tomorrow on the holiday.
Watch a trailer below.
“Black people have lived in fear,” DuPont said in a statement. “We have been methodically, systematically, and socially conditioned to make white people feel comfortable. We have done this to elevate in the workplace, for better housing opportunities, and for the basic safety of our lives and our Black children’s lives. It’s been nearly a week since a series of tornadoes struck the Nashville area on March 3rd, causing widespread damage in the city’s densely populated neighborhoods — including the destruction of beloved music venue the Basement East — and killing more than two dozen people in the surrounding area. When Pat Goodwin brought an acoustic guitar onstage at a sold-out Great Grandpa show in Brooklyn this past fall, one audience member responded by shouting “Free Bird!”
“I wish we fucking played ‘Free Bird!’” Goodwin told the crowd.
“I really don’t,” said lead singer/bassist Alex Menne.
Acoustic guitars are still somewhat of a novelty at Great Grandpa shows. The quintet, which formed in Seattle in 2014, have spent the past few years expanding upon, if not quite discarding, their early grunge-garage associations. With Four of Arrows, their remarkable second studio album,...

Music icon Carole King wants everyone to know that she’s performing – along with Broadway’s Beautiful cast – as part of PBS’ traditional A Capitol Fourth event, and most definitely not as part of President Donald Trump’s “political rally.”
In a message pinned to the top of her Twitter page – with a little line drawing by New Yorker cartoonist Liza Donnelly – King writes, “Just to be clear – I am appearing in ‘A Capitol Fourth,’ the traditional event held annually on the lawn at the Capitol. I am Not participating in t’s political rally.”
The drawing’s foreground features King sitting at a piano on the lawn, with an American flag planted on the edge of the musical instrument. In the background, a tiny Trump figure – recognizable by his hair – is accompanied by a thought bubble reading “So far away,” a play on King’s classic hit song and...

Brace yourselves, as it's looking increasingly like White Chicks 2 is on the way. Earlier this year, Marlon Wayans said that there were "rumblings" about a possible sequel to the 2004 Wayans brothers comedy. Now, cast member Terry Crews has added some fuel to the fire, saying that the movie is going to happen. Beyond that, not much is clear but it looks like this unlikely sequel just became a whole lot more likely.
Terry Crews has talked about the possible follow-up in two different interviews. First, he was asked about it by a caller on Watch What Happens Live. The actor didn't mince words and revealed that Shawn Wayans, who co-starred in the movie alongside his brother Marlon Wayans, says it's happening. Here's what Crews had to say about it.

We laughed! We cried! We audibly gasped at the sight of Vanessa Carlton! Hosted by a fully committed James Corden, Sunday’s Tony Awards broadcast was truly a gift unto us all.
The three-hour event was exactly what the Tonys should always be: a joyous celebration of musical theatre and the inspiring, diverse community that makes Broadway happen. And this year’s ceremony gave us no shortage of uplifting moments, from Ali Stroker’s beautiful words for theatrical hopefuls dealing with disabilities to Andre De Shields’ long-overdue Tony recognition — though we have a feeling that Baltimore was already plenty proud of its “native son.

Satirizing a genre as you’re fully embracing it isn’t the easiest feat and is perhaps impossible. It’s true that every good satire is also in some way a love letter to its source material, but love it a little too much, and the Valentine’s card becomes onion-thin with the prim bite of a paper cut. Todd Strauss-Schulson’s rom-com sendup “Isn’t It Romantic” is one of those satires that wants to have its Valentine’s chocolates and eat them too.
