We Are Social expands to NYC
Social media agency We Are Social, co-founded by ex-Sydneysider Nathan McDonald, founding member of If magazine, has opened a New York office.

The foundation clients of We Are Social New York include adidas and De Beers. The agency will be headed up by former Photon agency staffer Leila Thabet, who was marketing manger at the now defunct Geekdom.

The company is now based in Sydney, London, São Paulo, Singapore, Paris, Milan, Munich and Sydney.

The Sydney branch of the agency has been dubbed ‘We Are Silent’ by industry wags, having maintained a low public profile since the departure of co-founder Heather Ann Snodgrass for mobile start-up Roamz in 2011.

Rex initiated into Lampoon movie
Simon Rex is headed back to class. The actor has booked a role in the William Heins-directed comedy National Lampoon's Pledge This! opposite Paris Hilton. The heiress-turned-reality TV star/actress is toplining the project, playing the president of an elitist sorority at South Beach University who presides over a group of unlikely freshman girls vying to gain entrance and acceptance into her sorority. Rex will play Derek, a senior frat guy who has his hands full juggling his girlfriend (Hilton), partying and academics. Shooting starts this month with Juan Carlos Zapata of Street Alien Pictures producing. Other announced cast members include Heather Chase, Paula Garces, Preston Lacy and Sam Maccarone. Rex is repped by UTA and Nine Yards Entertainment's Matt Luber. He was last seen in Scary Movie 3 for Dimension Films and helmer David Zucker.
