If you’re feeling particularly single this Valentine’s Day, you might want to steer clear of Riley Green’s music video for his single, “Worst Way.” His 50 Shades of Country act — with its broken walls and tabletop antics — isn’t for the touch-starved or faint of heart.
“That your skin on my skin/Feels just like heaven to me/You look like an angel tonight/But you might wanna slip off those wings,” Green sings on the record as his love interest climbs on top of the table in the middle of a restaurant.

The departure of Steve Carell from The Office in 2011 left a void that the NBC sitcom struggled to fill. As the bumbling yet lovable Michael Scott, Carell was the heart of the show, and his departure has often been alluded as the one thing that started the show’s decline.

Not many actors can be deemed glorious enough to replace everything Carrell brought to The Office. However, James Gandolfini is undoubtedly one of them, and fans can only imagine how hilariously he would have transitioned to the show’s mockumentary style.
What’s more, it almost became a reality as well, before HBO butted in and ensured he would never ever visit the Scranton branch, of Dunder Mifflin.

Distilling the musical legacy of the Grateful Dead into one night is no small feat, and into three hours is an even taller order. But Don Was — longtime president of Blue Note Records, respected multi-instrumentalist and musical director for the Jan. 31 MusiCares Persons of the Year event — was up to the task, curating an inspired lineup of devotees, including Billy Strings, The War on Drugs, Norah Jones, Dwight Yoakam, Maren Morris, Noah Kahan and Wynonna Judd, and longtime collaborators like John Mayer, Bruce Hornsby and Was himself, who’s a touring member of Bob Weir’s Wolf Bros playing his signature upright bass.
As Was tells it, the set list came together organically, with the artists choosing which songs to play in concert with show producer Rac Clark and MusiCares’ Laura Segura. The end result ran the gamut from the popular (“Truckin’,” performed by Yoakam) to the ambitious (“Terrapin Station...

A hollow, lifeless conference hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center is just about the last place you would expect to find a Grateful Dead tribute concert on a Friday night. But it was there that MusiCares put on a show for the ages, honoring the band at its Persons of the Year gala with founding members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart in attendance (drummer Bill Kreutzmann could not make the trip and delivered a message by video) and a slew of acolytes who understood the assignment.
Typically, the MusiCares dinner is a polite affair, with guests seated respectfully for most of the performances, save the all-star finale, a staple of the event. And that’s not to say that previous Person of the Year recipients — which include Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and Barbra Streisand — didn’t have their own rabid fanbases in attendance. But the Deadheads just do things differently.

More than 15 Grammy Week events sponsored by the Recording Academy and many other Grammy-related parties were canceled this year due to January’s devastating Los Angeles fires, with the actual Grammy ceremony, which will still take place on Sunday, Feb. 2, pivoting to focus on raising funds for wildfire relief. But Friday’s MusiCares Persons of the Year Gala, honoring 2007 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients the Grateful Dead, went on as planned. And the annual charitable event actually felt more celebratory than ever, providing much-needed release and escape on the final night of a particularly rough month.
“Their fans are legendary, and their values — community, resilience, generosity — all align with the MusiCares mission,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said of the beloved psychedelic jam band Friday. “They remind us that music is a force for good. No Doubt reunited once again to perform at the FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles on Thursday night, where they played “Just a Girl,” “Don’t Speak,” and “Spiderwebs.”
The band was introduced by John Mayer — who said “You can’t have a concert for SoCal” without them — and immediately launched into “Just a Girl,” donning their ’90s throwback plaid and bringing their ska A-game to the upbeat crowd-pleaser. From there, they performed “Don’t Speak,” and then brought the energy back up their closer, “Spiderwebs.” Watch a clip of the performance below.
The appearance marked No Doubt’s first live appearance since they reunited last year to headline Coachella, which earned a “Skachella” nickname thanks to their involvement and a set from fellow SoCal band Sublime.

On Thursday night, P!Nk was one of many artists who performed at the FireAid benefit concert, taking the stage at the Kia Forum for an impassioned set that included a cover of Led Zeppelin’s version of “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You.”
P!Nk began her portion of the night with a rendition of 2017 song “What About Us,” after which she told the crowd that she was going to “keep my feet on the ground” with “a couple of songs that bring me comfort.” She then launched into a stirring cover of the Janis Joplin classic “Me and Bobby McGee.”
After belting her heart out on the “Bobby McGee” outro — which made her “almost pass out” — she took a drink and asked the audience “We got any Led Zeppelin fans out there?” Responding to their applause, she said “Alright, thank God” and introduced the next song: her version of...

Nirvana’s Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear reunited at the FireAid benefit concert, where they were joined by St. Vincent, Kim Gordon, Joan Jett, and Violet Grohl for a number of Nirvana songs. Watch clips of the performances below.

Lady Gaga stepped into the spotlight at the FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles, where she delivered a powerful performance that included the debut of a brand new song, “All I Need is Time,” written specially for the occasion.
The event was split across two venues, with Gaga closing out the evening from the Intuit Dome. After being introduced by Jimmy Kimmel, she took the stage for renditions of “Shallow” and “Always Remember Us This Way” from the soundtrack to A Star Is Born.
Then, Gaga explained to the audience that she wanted to perform “something hopeful,” but felt that nothing in her catalog felt quite right. Thus, she and her fiancé Michael Polansky composed the new song, “All I Need is Time” — a mid-tempo tune with a hopeful message, building up to an anthemic chorus with the lyrics, “All I need is time to heal my broken wings/ And then I’ll soar.

A star-studded lineup of performers came together to help Los Angeles heal on Thursday night in FireAid, an epic six-hour benefit concert stretching across two venues to raise funds for wildfire relief, rebuilding, and fire prevention efforts.
The show began at the Kia Forum with an unexpected duet between Green Day and Billie Eilish on the band’s “Last Night on Earth,” whose lyrics carried extra weight on this occasion: “If I lose everything in the fire, I’m sending all my love to you.” That was a fitting opener that captured the night’s theme and prevailing mood, mourning what was lost but celebrating the unity that arose from the natural disaster that claimed 29 lives and thousands of homes and businesses in the Los Angeles area.

“California, Los Angeles, Altadena, the Palisades — we are in this together,” Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong screamed to a sold-out crowd at L.A.’s Kia Forum on Thursday for the FireAid wildfire benefit concert.
As the first act of the star-studded evening, the iconic rock band kicked off the show with their 2009 track “Last Night on Earth,” bringing out fellow artist Billie Eilish to perform. The group reiterated that everyone was “in this together.”
Actor and comedian Billy Crystal, who lost his home in the Palisades Fire, took the stage after Green Day to officially welcome the crowd. He spoke about his own experience, telling concertgoers that he was wearing the clothes when he evacuated from his home and which he wore for a week. He announced that all donations of the night would be matched by Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and his wife, Connie Snyder, the...

Green Day kicked off the FireAid Benefit Concert with a performance of their 2009 song “Last Night on Earth,” joined by special guest Billie Eilish.
Eilish’s fellow Billie (Joe Armstrong) carried the first portion of the song, delivering its apt lyrics for the occasion — like, “If I lose everything in the fire/ I’m sending all my love to you” — as bandmates Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, and a number of auxiliary musicians, provided the ballad’s steady-moving arrangement.
Then, for the second verse, Eilish hit the stage, prompting enthusiastic applause from the audience at the Kia Forum. Standing alongside Armstrong, she beautifully crooned her portion, and for the final chorus, the two sang together in harmony. Afterwards, they embraced for a hug.

How many Madonnas does it take to screw in a light bulb?
I’m not sure how many riddles the Like A Virgin singer has been telling during her periodic pop-ins at New York’s Comedy Cellar, but here’s proof that she’s been getting behind the mike, delivering punchlines from her scratchpad of funny ideas.
Madonna “has been interested in (stand-up for) a long time,” comic Amy Schumer told Howard Stern. “And she knows that like anything else, you have to work really hard on it. She’s like, ‘I want to get up. I’ve got things I want to express.’”
Too bad she doesn’t have a music career that she could use to get her thoughts out there.
Schumer has been helping out her pal, watching Madonna’s sets and providing after-show critiques. “We’ve done this a couple times,” she says. “We go to the Comedy Cellar,...

You can stream all of the performances on a multitude of services, including Max, Netflix, Paramount+, Prime Video and YouTube

This year’s Grammy week will be looking a little different, as the show will take place shortly after Los Angeles was devastated by wildfires in the Pacific Palisades and Altadena. Music’s biggest night will mark the first awards show to take place in L.A. since the tragedy began on Jan. 7, and many of the typical Grammy events have been canceled as the usual players — including Spotify and the major labels — redirect resources to aid wildfire relief efforts.
