As an award-winning actor, writer, and director, his works have received international acclaim.

Rey Coloma's directorial prowess is showcased in his experimental and narrative films, earning hundreds of international awards, including recent Diamond and Gold Awards at the Wallachia International Film Festival in Romania. He has also been recognized by the Office of the President CEZA as a Technical Jury member.

Locally and internationally, he has been honored with numerous awards, such as the Asia's Golden Legacy Awards and GAWAD Agila ng Kadakilaan.

Beyond cinema, Dr. Coloma advocates for the arts and social causes. The Film Development Council of the Philippines recognizes him as a Film Ambassador, and he is honored by SIRIB Ilocos Norte Express.
