The Boyd Triplets

IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
The Boyd Triplets were a set of triplets, Edith Bolling Boyd, Elena Rolfe Boyd, and Mildred Stuart Boyd, who were singers, guitarists, and actresses. The three sisters were born August 23, 1921, in Ancón, then part of the Panama Canal Zone (now Panama). They were the great-nieces of Edith Galt Wilson, wife of President Woodrow Wilson. At first performing under their real names in the 1940s, they later adopted the stage name "Del Rubio" and performed as the Del Rubio Triplets: Eadie Del Rubio, Elena Del Rubio, and Milly Del Rubio, with the slogan "3 Gals, 3 Guitars", and were known for their blonde bouffant hairdos. During the 1970s, they performed mostly in hospitals and nursing homes, although they did appear in the film Americathon (1979). After being "re-discovered" in the 1980s by songwriter Allee Willis, the Del Rubio Triplets went on to make appearances on popular television shows such as Night Court (1984), Married... with Children (1987), The Golden Girls (1985), and Pee-wee's Playhouse (1986). After Eadie's death in 1996, Elena and Milly retired from performing. Elena died in 2001 and Milly died in 2011.
