The films may be short, but there is no shortage of scares as Arrow Video FrightFest 2020 announces its showcase of the best new short films from the UK and around the world, with six countries representing three continents. The horror movie casts Cunningham as a mysterious being known only as Six, who is locked behind bars in remote Scotland.

Police soon learn that Six has a mission of vengeance against residents of their small village – and his motivations might be supernatural in nature.

Let Us Prey has been produced by The Last Days on Mars' Brendan McCarthy and John McDonnell of Stitches.

It’s possible that Let Us Prey peaks too early.

The title sequence is wonderfully put together. Incredible imagery of a mysterious stranger seemingly appearing out of the ocean and making his way into a sleepy little town, backed by a powerful electronic soundtrack, sets expectations for what follows to an astronomically high level. Disappointingly, the rest of the film doesn’t live up to its opening.

Focusing on the mysterious appearance of, well, Liam Cunningham, Let Us Prey was pitched before its screening on Mayhem’s opening night as a kind of reverse Assault on Precinct 13. Which is probably accurate: Cunningham is incarcerated by Pollyanna McIntosh in one of the holding cells of the town police station,...

The 18th Fantasia International Film Festival’s second lineup of films was unveiled Thursday, and it features the closing night film on August 5, Welcome to New York directed by Abel Ferrara (Bad Lieutenant, Ms. 45).

Ferrara will be present to talk about his latest film, starring Gérard Depardieu and Jacqueline Bisset. The film was received with warm reviews after appearing out of competition at Cannes and at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The Fantasia Film Fest runs July 17 to August 5 in Montreal, and the full lineup of films, in addition to the ones already announced, will be released July 10.

A suitably gory new teaser one-sheet for Brian O'Malley's directorial debut 'Let Us Prey' has been unearthed. The British/Irish co-production is currently in post-production but we're certain of seeing plenty more shocks and gruesomeness along the way heading to a final official release date. The movie stars Liam Cunningham ('Game of Thrones') and Pollyanna McIntosh ('The Woman') and action takes place in a remote police station where a terrifying and influencial individual is being detained. Kieran Parker's nazi zombie sequel 'Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz' is set to land on Blu-ray and DVD on 18 March. XLrator will release the third installment in the series and ahead of its digital liberation comes this new selection of stills from the British horror sequel. Parker helms from a script by scribe Rae Brunton who has written all chapters in the franchise to date. Alamode/Pierrot Le Fou has acquired rights in German-speaking Europe, Premiere TV Distribution has picked up Benelux rights while Falcon Films will distribute in The Middle East.

Currently in post-production, Let Us Prey charts the fallout when an enigmatic stranger takes over the minds of the detainees in a remote Scottish police station.

Brit/Irish co-production 'Let Us Prey' has headed into post-production and will making a stop by tomorrow's American Film Market hosted in California. The new thriller marks the feature debut of director Brian O'Malley who helms from a script co-written by Rae Brunton (the 'Outpost' trilogy), David Cairns ('When Evil Calls') and Fiona Watson. 'Game of Thrones' actor Liam Cunningham and 'The Woman's Pollyanna McIntosh (below) both star in the feature which sees a stranger (played by Cunningham) held in a police station only to use his hellish mind-bending influences over inmates and officers. Rachel (played by McIntosh), however, is the only one able to resist. Bryan Larkin, Niall Greig Fulton, Douglas Russell, Hanna Stanbridge, James McCreadie, Jonathan Watson and Brian Vernel also star....

Nathalie Emmanuel, who played the role of Daenery's new servant Missandei in the recent season of HBO's "Game of Thrones," has scored a significant role in James Wan's "Fast and Furious 7" at Universal Pictures.

Naomi Watts has joined the cast of documentarian Errol Morris's narrative directorial debut "Holland, Michigan" at Le Grisbi and Cross Creek. Filming is scheduled to begin in April.

The story is about Satan arriving in a backwater town; Rae Brunton, David Cairns and Fiona Watson wrote the screenplay.

The production is shooting in Ireland and Scotland.

The new sequel to British supernatural Nazi horror 'Outpost' is complete with XLrator set to distribute. Styd have revealed the new trailer for 'Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz' ('Outpost 3') the third installment in the series which focuses on the origins of these unworldly soliders and are pitted against the the Russian special purpose forces. The threequel is helmed by Kieran Parker, who produced both previous installments in the franchise, and directs from a script penned by trilogy scribe Rae Brunton. A Lonely Place To Die is an exciting example of how a more direct approach to filmmaking can still be effective, despite the increasing number of stylistic and experimental films (not necessarily a bad thing) flooding the market. Melissa George (30 Days Of Night, and TV’s Grey’s Anatomy) plays Alison, on a trek into the Scottish Highlands with four fellow mountain climbers. The story begins as a peaceful nature outing far from civilization and technology, but shifts into a deadly thriller once they discover a little girl named Anna locked away inside a 3×6 buried box at the top of the mountain.
