Communications veteran Jack Horner is leaving Warner Bros. to serve as the senior VP of corporate communications and publicity at Skydance Media.

The company announced on Tuesday that it tapped Horner for the role.

Horner handled media relations and strategy for Warner Bros as vice president of the studio’s worldwide corporate communications. Prior to that role, he served as chief spokesman and media strategist for Warner Bros. Pictures for more than five years.

Horner turned his focus to broader communications and strategy at Warner Bros. under Dee Dee Myers and Paul McGuire after the studio hired Candice McDonough as senior vice president of theatrical communications.

In his new role at Skydance, Horner is responsible for devising and implementing the communications strategies and overseeing domestic and international public relations efforts on behalf of Skydance and its properties.

Candice McDonough has been named senior vice president of theatrical communications at Warner Bros., Warner Bros. Pictures Chairman Toby Emmerich announced Thursday.

McDonough, who worked with Emmerich at New Line for more than a decade, returns to Warner Bros. after having left in 2015 to serve as Evp of theatrical publicity at Relativity EuropaCorp Distribution.

Shortly after McDonough joined, however, Relativity filed for bankruptcy, at which point McDonough became head of publicity and communications for EuropaCorp U.S.

“Candice is a smart, strategic communications executive who knows the film business inside and out, has excellent instincts, great media relationships and a proven track record,” said Emmerich. “I’ve known and worked with Candice for more than 15 years, so this is a homecoming of sorts. I’m excited to have her back on the team to provide her expertise and counsel as the Pictures Group continues to navigate the constantly evolving entertainment landscape.”

McDonough also previously worked at HBO Films and CAA. McDonough will begin on May 25 and report to Emmerich.

On Wednesday, former Warner Bros. Pictures spokesman Jack Horner was promoted to a new post on the Worldwide Corporate Communications Team.

Horner will now focus on broader communications and strategy and will continue to report to Dee Dee Myers, Warner Bros. Evp Worldwide Corporate Communications, and Paul McGuire Svp Worldwide Corporate Communications.

Jack Horner, Warner Bros. VP of Theatrical Communications, who came to the Burbank lot almost six years ago from NewsCorp., has been promoted to a new post on the Worldwide Corporate Communications Team, the studio announced Wednesday.

Horner will focus on broader communications and strategy and will continue to report to Dee Dee Myers, Warner Bros. Evp Worldwide Corporate Communications, and Paul McGuire Svp Worldwide Corporate Communications.

Previously before joining Warner bros., Horner has been a public spokesman for Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. as its New York-based VP of corporate affairs and communications.
