A young boy named Solomon (Brody Bett) who we quickly realize is blind and tethered to the cabin he lives in, checks animal traps with a long stick as his mother Nidia looks on. Back home she oversees his efforts to gut and clean a squirrel caught in one of them.

Years later the now grown Solomon (Jared Laufree) lives alone, his mother having vanished with no explanation. He lives alone, but still follows the three rules she drilled into his head. To always give back to the forest which provides for him, when his will is almost gone, find comfort in their song, and, most importantly, never, ever let go of the rope.

Director Daniel Robinette, who is...

Indie Horror 'Tethered' Trailer Set in the Woods of North Carolina
Alexandra Paul, Brody Bett, Kareem Ferguson, Chris Demm, and Jared Laufree in Tethered (2022)
"Whatever's out there ain't going to go away if you keep feeding it." Gravitas has revealed the first official trailer for Tethered, an indie horror film made by filmmaker Daniel Robinette. Deep within the woods of North Carolina, miles from civilization, a blind teenager and the hunter he befriends are tormented by a mysterious creature lurking in the woods. His only other stimulation is a tape recorded message containing three mysterious rules: The First Rule: When you hunt or scavenge, do it for two—one for the forest and one for you.The Second Rule: When your will is almost gone and you feel like giving up, find comfort in singing our song. The Third Rule: You must never, ever let go of the rope. The film stars Alexandra Paul, Kareem Ferguson, Jared L. Cook, Brody Bett, and Chris Demm. This looks solid for a tiny budget indie flick. Here's...

Paff 2013 Review – 'Talking With The Taxman About Poetry'
My screening of Lamont Pierre’s, “Talking with the Taxman about Poetry,” had all the trappings of a mysterious blind date. I did not know anything about the films storyline, I did not know anything about the director, and I did not have concrete intentions of actually seeing the film. It all happened by happenstance. Yet, I screened it, and I was deeply inspired by it, and I believe that you should catch it while you can at the 2013 Pan African Film Festival. The film tells a story about a writer named Theodore (Kareem Ferguson). He is an eccentric, intelligent, and depressed writer. He financially supports himself as a teacher. This film begins...
