Johnny Depp is back behind the camera as a director and he just premiered his new movie Modì, Three Days on the Wing of Madness for a British audience!

The 62-year-old actor and filmmaker walked the red carpet at the premiere on Tuesday (July 8) at the Curzon Mayfair in London, England.

Johnny was joined at the event by cast members Riccardo Scamarcio, who plays the title character Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani, as well as Antonia Desplat, Bruno Gouery, and Ryan McParland.

Antonia was previously seen in the Apple TV+ series Shantaram and she was supported on the red carpet by her former co-stars Charlie Hunnam and Shubham Saraf. She is the daughter of two-time Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat.

The movie is being released in the UK on July 11, but it does not yet have a US release date.

If you haven’t heard of such a film, it was probably because Depp refused to release the film in the United States after the critical reception of the film was negative.

The 1997 film saw Depp also take on the lead role and cast Marlon Brando in a supporting role. He admitted that The Brave was a challenging film to make in more than one way. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor didn’t want to make the same mistake of taking on too much work and decided to stay only behind the camera for Modì.

Variety understands that 12 journalists working for various international publications had been invited to take part in the interviews for the buzzy film, directed by Depp and launching at the Spanish festival.
