Cindy Lin (Chinese name Lin Shu Xin) is an actress based in Los Angeles. She was born in Fujian province, China and immigrated to the U.S. with her family at the age of three, living briefly in Texas and Arizona before settling in Brooklyn, New York. She attended Catholic school in Bay Ridge, where she took her first theatre classes, before her parents moved the family across the country to Walnut, California, when she was 11.
From middle school through high school, Cindy performed in musicals, short plays, and show choir while also competing in Taekwondo-including at the Junior Olympics. She later attended UCLA, where she studied History, French, and Theatre. After college, she briefly worked in live show production and design in the music industry before pursuing a career in acting. She has performed in several plays in Los Angeles, including For The Love Of at Theatre of NOTE and the Kirk Douglas Theatre, and Men on Boats at Son of Semele Ensemble. She has appeared in marketing campaigns and commercials for Apple, Motorola, Snapchat and BuzzFeed and played Sunny in the web series STANS seasons 1-2.
Cindy is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, proficient in French, and understands Fuzhounese and Cantonese. She holds a 3rd-degree black belt in Taekwondo and enjoys snowboarding, surfing, and ocean-related activities. With a musical theatre background, she is skilled in singing (alto to soprano range), dancing, and piano.
