Biography

Daniel Di Amante is an American actor, known for playing James in the Drama Pink Flamingos. He was born in Coral Springs, FL to Maria Isabel ( Jaramillo ), a Self-Employed housekeeper, and Gilberto Gomez-Gomez, a Self-Employed Handyman. Both his parents are of White European Colombian descent. His parents met in the States in their late 30's and started the family in Tamarac, FL. His parents soon separated when he was 5 years old, leaving Daniel to grow up with his Mother and younger sister, Isabella Gomez.

As a child, Daniel showed great interest in the arts by performing for friends and family at events and performing characters in makeshift costumes for his father when he would visit. Daniel struggled in school as he just wanted to act out in class. Acting lessons were not in the cards as the family could not afford to pursue it as they were living paycheck-to-paycheck. Fortunately, when Daniel was 8, his Father, Gilberto Gomez, would connect him with friends of his that were shooting a short film, The Blink of an Eye, for a film festival where he would play a poor homeless boy that was once privileged and affluent. Bitten by the bug of acting, Daniel would take to the streets and act homeless, begging for food and money behind his mothers back with the wardrobe he kept from the shoot. This ended quickly as concerned parents would tell his mother.

Daniel would not take on acting once again until high school where he got his first job and would make Youtube videos everyday he could creating bizarre, one of a kind characters. Graduating high school in 2017, Daniel became lost as he wanted to pursue YouTube and acting but was afraid of disapproval of his family for not going to College as no one had ever gone in the family. Despite the disapproval, Daniel would not go to college and would pursue making YouTube videos everyday. After no success with YouTube and a personal family tragedy, Daniel would go on to work full-time and struggle with homelessness until 2019.

In December 2020, Daniel would be managing his own small business where he was doing marketing for local chiropractor offices. After a night of endless laughter, a good friend of Daniels, Tevone Hall, would say with a disappointed smile something that would unknowingly change the course of Daniels future. After that night, Daniel would say goodbye to his clients, sell all his possessions, buy a car and say goodbye to his life in South Florida. In January 2021, Daniel would pack his new car with some clothes, a camera and his favorite books and would move to Atlanta, GA on the advice of a YouTube video by Kurt Yue. Jumping into the unknown, Daniel would move to Atlanta, GA alone knowing no one to start his acting career. Auditioning and filming everyday-the rest of the story is being written as we speak.
