Biography

Amara is an Afro-descendant actress of dual Chilean-Spanish nationality and bilingual English-Spanish. An acting graduate from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon School in Pennsylvania, Amara made her feature film debut with Cha Cha Real Smooth (2022) (2022), directed by Cooper Raiff and produced by Dakota Johnson's company, TeaTime. The feature film had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and won the Audience Award-U.S Dramatic Competition.

Amara also starred in the short film Transeúntes (2022) (2022), directed by New York-based Chilean director Iñaki Velásquez. In theater, she has played leading roles in plays in USA such as "Everybody" (2021) and "I hope they haunt you" (2021). She also participated in original projects such as "How to live forever" (2019) and "Theatar project neverland" (2019), where she used augmented reality (xr) technology in a theatrical space. With a background in voice acting, she has worked on projects such as "Macbadth", a theatrical podcast, and "Life is a dream" for trafika europe radio.

Currently, she is in the middle of shooting the next film of the prestigious Chinese-Canadian director Johnny Ma, while simultaneously participating in a Chilean series on Mega TV.
