Wendie Malick Is Getting a Big Inheritance in New 'Night Court' Season 3 Sneak Peek [Exclusive]
Image
Wendie Malick is about to hit the jackpot on this week's episode of Night Court, though it might not be what she's expecting. Following a visit from the woeful Wheeler family last Tuesday, Season 3 continues with Episode 14, titled "Hot to Trot," which sees the Manhattan Municipal Court's prosecutor, Julianne, learning about the death of her rich aunt. As she prepares to receive a potentially life-changing inheritance, the rest of the staff jockey to try and get a piece of what's coming to her. Collider has an exclusive sneak peek from the exact moment Julianne learns what she's getting with Gurgs (Lacretta) and Dan (John Larroquette) waiting in anticipation.

The clip opens with a lawyer reading out Julianne's aunt's will, which offers a glimpse into her past and relations outside the courtroom. Although there are 17 pages of sentiments about the prosecutor and strange ramblings about how "Roosevelt was a coward," and...

2022 Emmy nominations ballot: See all 48 Best TV Movie contenders from ‘Adventures in Christmasing’ to ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas’
Image
The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, 48 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 12; last year, only 41 TV movies were submitted.

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 27 to cast their 2022 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. In the past, voters were limited in the number of telefilms that they could put forth. In 2017, that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. And, as opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Executive producers include showrunners T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson, director and co-writer Morgan Cooper, Smith, Terence Carter,...

Weeks/McKay ABC Comedy Pilot Casts Tattiawna Jones As the Female Lead
Image
Flashpoint alumna Tattiawna Jones has landed the female lead opposite Andy Ridings in ABC’s untitled Weeks/Mackay comedy pilot.

Written by The Mindy Project co-star Ed Weeks & Hannah Mackay and directed by Leslye Headland, the single-camera project centers on lesbian Hilda (Jones) and her best friend Randall (Ridings), a neurotic straight guy, as they navigate their dysfunctional, co-dependent friendship and the world of dating. Canadian actress Jones, repped by APA and Carrier Talent Management, also recently nabbed a recurring role on the upcoming USA drama series Eyewitness.

NBC Pulls Plug on ‘Coach’ Revival
Shelley Fabares, Craig T. Nelson, Bill Fagerbakke, Kenneth Kimmins, and Jerry Van Dyke in Coach (1989)
NBC has pulled the plug on its revival of “Coach.” The network had given the series, a continuation of the ’90s ABC sitcom starring Craig T. Nelson, a 13-episode series order. The new “Coach” was given the greenlight in March. The series was to follow Nelson’s character from the original series, Hayden Fox, as he emerged from retirement to join his son (Andrew Ridings from “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”) on the football coaching staff of an Ivy League team. Original cast member Bill Fagerbakke was signed to revive his role as dim-witted assistant coach Dauber Dybinski. Original series creator Barry Kemp was producing.

7 Underrated Treats of 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'
Ellie Kemper in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015)
We spent the weekend enjoying the hell out of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," the new Netflix series from "30 Rock" royalty Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. Starring "Office" and "Bridesmaids" vet Ellie Kemper, it chronicles the life of a woman who escapes from an apocalyptic cult and builds a new life in New York City. It is a scream. Here are seven major things to appreciate about it.   1. Veteran TV actresses get tons to do.  "30 Rock" provided a wonderful showcase for veteran comic actors, and we can thank the Fey/Carlock mothership for giving Elaine Stritch, Jan Hooks, Anita Gillette, Tim Conway, Alan Alda, and many, many more such fun and weird roles. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" is off to a great start in this area: Regular cast members Carol Kane and Jane Krakowski rack up some of the biggest laughs every episode as they notch another hit in their incredible TV careers,...
