Exclusive: Canadian actress Samora Smallwood has launched her own production company, Hold One Entertainment. The indie debuts with a greenlight from Bell Fibe’s streaming channel TV1, a rom-com series called Coming Home.

Smallwood will star and make her directorial debut in the show, which is billed as an adult coming-of-age story “that explores the humorous and poignant realities of returning to one’s roots while striving to build a future in the art.” Inspired by Smallwood’s personal experiences, it will explore the spaces between her small hometown and Hollywood.

"AHS" premiered in 2011, the same year that the sci-fi/technology-run-amok anthology series "Black Mirror" premiered. Curiously, though "Black Mirror" was just as popular, and was covered as furiously as "AHS" was in its prime, its influence on subsequent sci-fi visions seems to have jumped mediums to film. A new season of the television anthology series Slasher – season 5, to be exact, which is also going by the title Slasher: Ripper – is set to premiere on the Shudder and AMC+ streaming services on April 6th. Shudder has revealed the air date of Slasher: Flesh and Blood, which they announced late last year as the fourth installment in the horror series that started in 2016.

The horror streaming platform will exclusively show the series in the US as well as Australia and New Zealand on August 12th, 2021, according to Rue Morgue. The first two episodes of the new series will be premiered on the same day, with new additions each week as is becoming more frequent with streaming services who don't want people to simply binge-watch a new series and move on.

Shudder announced today that it has teamed up with award-winning production company Shaftesbury to make a new eight-episode installment of the hugely popular horror series.

Slasher: Flesh & Blood will stream exclusively on horror platform Shudder in the US, Australia, and New Zealand in 2021.

Shudder will also be the streaming home for Flesh & Blood in Canada, the UK and Ireland following its linear premieres in those countries.

The series will be broadcast exclusively on Hollywood Suite in Canada.

Production is already underway in Ontario, Canada.

Scanners and Videodrome director David Cronenberg is to star in a new series of horror anthology Slasher for AMC streaming service Shudder.

The streamer has ordered a new eight-episode instalment of the series, which has run for three seasons on platforms including Chiller and Netflix.

Slasher: Flesh & Blood, produced by Canadian production company Shaftesbury, will air exclusively on Shudder in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand in 2021 with second window runs in the UK and Ireland and Canada, where it will first air on Hollywood Suite. Production is underway now in Ontario, Canada.

Exclusive: Production began this week in Hamilton, Ontario on actress Katie Boland’s (The Bet) directorial debut We’re All In This Together.

Having adapted Amy Jones’ novel of the same name, Boland will also star in the film as twins alongside Martha Burns (Alias Grace) and Alisha Newton (Heartland). The film will follow the dysfunctional Parker family which unravels after a woman goes over a waterfall and a video goes viral.

Producers are Jay Firestone of Prodigy Pictures, Gail Harvey of Straight Shooters and John Laing of Urban Post alongside Boland and Paula Brancati. Mark Pancer is associate producer. The film was made with financial support from Telefilm Canada and The Harold Greenberg Fund.

Exclusive: Emmy-winning The Sopranos alum Joe Pantoliano will reprise his role as Captain Howard in Bad Boys for Life, which has stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence returning for the third installment of Sony’s buddy-cop actioner. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are on hand to direct the sequel from a script by Peter Craig (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay 1 & 2, Bad Boys 2, Transformers), Joe Carnahan (A-Team), and Chris Bremmer. Jerry Bruckheimer also is back as producer.

Details on the film’s plot have yet to be revealed. The pic will go before cameras next month and is slated for theatrical release January 17, 2020.

Netflix is cutting Slasher anytime soon. The streaming service just announced they've renewed the TV show for a third season.

The second season of the anthology horror series centers on a shuttered summer camp, which has been taken over by an “intentional community.” Now someone — or something — hellbent on revenge, is targeting the members of this secretive group. The cast includes Leslie Hope, Paula Brancati, Jim Watson, Christopher Jacot, Joanne Vannicola, Jefferson Brown, and Dean McDermott.

Drake’s former castmates from “Degrassi: The Next Generation” had a blast reuniting for his latest video, “I’m Upset,” shot this past weekend in downtown Toronto from the Air Canada Centre, where the rap star’s beloved Raptors play basketball, in addition to the Degrassi set in north Toronto, where the long-running teen drama still films.

He released the video Wednesday night and it already has more than 2.5 million views on YouTube.

From 2001 to 2009, Drake, then known by his birth name Aubrey Graham, played Jimmy Brooks in the series, a rich kid who ends up in a wheelchair after getting shot.

He appeared in over 100 episodes, and again in “Degrassi: Minis” (2005-2007). He also released his first mixtape, “Room For Improvement,” in 2007.
