In 2017, Barth revealed that she was a victim of sexual harassment from Harvey Weinstein in 2011. She met with Weinstein in his hotel suite under the guise of it being a business meeting to discuss filmmaking projects. However, he "alternated between offering to cast her in a film and demanding a naked massage in bed''. One year later, Barth reported to the police David Guillod drugged and sexually assaulted her when he was working as her manager He was arrested in 2020. Jessica told Seth MacFarlane about the incident with Weinstein and MacFarlane took the opportunity to insult him while presenting the 2012 Oscar nominees with Emma Stone.
