Lauren Schmidt Hissrich at an event for IMDb at San Diego Comic-Con (2016)
Season 3 of "The Witcher" casts a spell on Netflix this Summer. You may have thought that Henry Cavill was finished with his Geralt of Rivia role, but he had already shot Season 3 when he left the show to return to his role as Superman. Despite a surprise cameo in 'Black Adam,' the homecoming was short-lived when DC Studios boss James Gunn announced that the Superman film he's writing and directing will not feature Cavill playing the Man of Steel. Liam Hemsworth will step into Cavill's role on "The Witcher" for Season 4. But before Cavill goes out with a bang, Geralt hopes that Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) can train Ciri (Freya Allan) to control her magical powers. When they head to a protected fortress to train, the trio must fight dark magic and treachery to stay united. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich takes inspiration from author Andrzej Sapkowski's fifth book in "The Witcher" series, "The Time of Contempt." We'll certainly hear more from the Bard in Volume 1 of the first 5 episodes of Season 3 in June, and in Volume 2 of the final 3 episodes in July, only on Netflix.
