Biography

    • The Mooncat Picture Co. is an emerging independent filmmaking collective. A boutique team of writers and filmmakers, they are dedicated to crafting cinema rooted in the aesthetic and docu-drama language of late 1970s / early 1980s motion picture.

Inspiration is drawn lightly, but intentionally .. Kubrick, Faye Dunaway, Ennio Morricone, Dean Cundey.

The Mooncats maintain a strong thematic focus on trauma recall and the subconscious, with a particular emphasis on survivorship.

    • The Mooncats are an independent filmmaking collective dedicated to economical genre cinema. The company is known for reconstructing the visual and thematic language of late 1970s / early 1980s, 35mm cinema. Rather than leaning into pastiche or nostalgia, The genre company aims to deliver something more substantial - a feeling of temporal displacement, of cultural memory collapsing in on itself. Cinematic references are often worn lightly but deliberately - Kubrick, Faye Dunaway, Ennio Morricone, Dean Cundey.
