Biography

Khoa Nguyen was born in 1981 in Ho Chi Minh City. Before joining the film industry, he had 10 years as a lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, majoring in Information Management. In 2014, he decided to quit his job to study at Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema, majoring in Film Directing to receive professional training in this field. From 2014 to 2018, as a director, he made a number of works such as TVC, viral clips as well as several short films such as "Beauty Inside" (2015), "Beyond The Window" (2016) and especially the short film "Come Back Home" (2018), his graduation film. His short film "Come Back Home" has participated in 11 film festivals in the US, Poland, Italy, Spain, India, Australia and South Africa. The film received 6 nominations and won 3 awards. From 2019 to 2021, he made his first movie project: "Listeners: The Whispering" as a director and screenwriter. The film has participated in 7 film festivals in the US, UK, Hong Kong, Australia, Nigeria. The film received 16 nominations and won 12 awards. In March 2022, the film was officially released on cinema systems in Vietnam. From 2023, the film will continue to be released on the Netflix platform in Vietnam. Currently, in addition to directing work, he is also a film producer and the founder of a film production studio (Reborn Studio) in Vietnam.
