Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen has established itself as one of the greatest new-generation dark fantasy shows that fans can’t get enough of. Despite the subpar ending, the series has promising arcs and a long list of characters that fans can relate to, which has made them extremely popular. While the series had a very promising storyline, it featured a core issue that made the fans of the series feel quite overwhelmed.

Jjk’s plot leaves no room for a breather, which has added to the backlash over the ending that has divided the fanbase on social media. However, it was not only Akutami-Sensei’s magnum opus that followed this idea. Ichirō Ōkouchi and Gorō Taniguchi’s Code Geass also followed this notion.
They were quick to avert backlash as they decided to add some much-needed fillers to add to the series’ storyline.

Code Geass is one of the finest and most well-written series in the mecha genre. From Imperialism to tyranny, the anime encapsulated the dark and heavy themes centered around human society. It also brought to light the realities of oppression and inequality through its premise.
Undoubtedly, it is a deeply political anime, yet its message often gets lost in the romanticization of the robots. Like Gundam, the knightmares in the series hold a deeper meaning and symbolism to them. But what takes the take in every aspect is how well-written the protagonist is.

Apart from his genius, Lelouch Lamperouge is anything but a banal shonen protagonist. This is especially the case with his strategy and battle Iq, which ties in well with him honing his intellect. It might be because of the writers dropping an ironclad rule of shonen to enhance his appeal.

(Welcome to Ani-time Ani-where, a regular column dedicated to helping the uninitiated understand and appreciate the world of anime.)
Throughout the many entries in this column, I've expressed a few times how much I admire when an anime show breaks away from the medium's traditional high school setting and dares to tell a more mature story about adults — like the phenomenal psychological thriller "Monster." To be sure, anime is more than shonen action anime about guys with superpowers in fantasy worlds. It can also encompass slice-of-life dramas, romances, sitcoms, and even a show about people whose job involves collecting debris in space.
Such is the premise for the 2003-2004 anime series "Planetes," which is based on the manga by the same name by Makoto Yukimura (who also created the excellent "Vinland Saga"). The show takes place in 2075, a time when space exploration is common but is now hindered by the debris surrounding Earth,...

Code Geass is considered to be one of the most beloved anime series in the world. Time and again, the series has consistently introduced characters to its long list of well-written names that have become instant fan favorites. While the series features names that fans absolutely adore watching and can’t get enough of, there are a few names that they detest.
Lelouch. Credits: Studio Sunrise
The hate for some characters is justified in the Mecha series, where the fanbase loves to hate Nina Einstein. Interestingly, one name is such a polarising character in the series that would draw away all the negative attention from Nina; it’s none other than Suzaku Kururugi, whose actions often feel like a punch in the gut to its viewers.
However, upon closer inspection, that detest is highly unjustified towards the character because his actions had a more profound impact on the overall plot of the series.

Makoto Yukimura’s Vinland Saga is one of the greatest modern manga series out there and its anime adaptation is no slouch either. Initially, it appears to be the Viking story of a young man who sets out for revenge. Over the course of Vinland Saga's story, it evolves into a weighty thesis on the nature of war, how violence can change us, and what it means to actually devote one's life to peace. Code Geass is one of the finest anime in the mecha genre. From war to racism, it perfectly captures the essence of a dystopian society. Unlike most mecha anime, this series wasn’t restricted to robots. It encapsulated the thought-provoking perspectives. This holds especially true for its portrayal of political unrest and genocide. However, there’s more to it.
