Handcuffed to a grubby table inside a rundown police station, Rebecca begins to question everything around her. This is where we first meet the character, played compellingly by Abbie Cornish, in the new mystery thriller Detained. Reeling from a night she cannot recall, Rebecca finds herself accused of hit-and-run. However, strange inconsistencies start to emerge the more she learns about her supposed crime. Why is the station seemingly empty? Why has her usual lawyer been replaced? And what really happened in those missing hours?
As Rebecca pieces together fragmented clues, she begins to realize a darker deception may be at play. Nothing is quite adding up, from the interrogation tactics of detectives Avery and Moon to the cryptic warning from her friend Sarah. Meanwhile, the introduction of an ominous criminal called Jovan hints at tangled threads connecting Rebecca’s case to broader conspiracies. Layer by layer, an intricate web of...

Laz Alonso is taking a darker turn in his new film Detained. The psychological thriller sees The Boys star play an anything but noble Detective Avery opposite Abbie Cornish’s Rebecca. After a night out meeting someone at a bar, she wakes up in a shady-looking precinct accused of a hit-and-run. With no memory of what happened, she finds herself in a tortuous situation as Avery and fellow Detective Moon (Moon Bloodgood) push her to confess to the crime. A deadly scuffle reveals a sinister plot. This leaves Rebecca with no other choice but to uncover the truth. For fans of Alonso as Mother’s Milk, it’s a fun opportunity to see the actor step into a straight-up sinister-like character. Here he talks about making the movie. Alonso also reflects on how Season 4 of The Boys unfolded and the popular Amazon Prime Video series’ future. (L-r) Abbie Cornish, Laz Alonso,...

Karl Urban has brought several seminal characters to life. Apart from playing the complex, unhinged role of Billy Butcher in "The Boys," Urban has been a part of several major franchises over the course of his career, including "Star Trek" and "The Lord of the Rings." Peter Jackson's 2002 film "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" was a breakout film for Urban, in which he played Éomer, a leader of the Riders of Rohan who went on to become the King of Rohan. Almost every scene featuring Éomer is battle-intensive, as his character is instrumental in the Battle of Helm's Deep. While one would think that "The Two Towers" would be one of the most challenging shooting experiences for Urban, the actor revealed in a 2007 interview with IGN that it was not the case.
In 2007, Urban starred in an overlooked summer film named "Pathfinder," directed by Marcus Nispel,...

Despite reports they were mulling over a revival, CBS has decided its Code Black TV show will remain cancelled. During the Summer 2018 TCAs, Entertainment boss Kelly Kahl said the network was trying to figure out a way to "make it work," but it seems it is not to be.

The medical drama was not short on the drama as it stacked intense, near-death moments in and outside of Angels Memorial. The episode is told somewhat out of order, starting with an airplane crashing into Angels Memorial. It then backtracks to the events leading up to that crash — and boy oh boy is there a lot.
Through the course of the episode, Col. Ethan Willis (Rob Lowe) continues to...

In its freshman installment, the Code Black TV show earned low ratings for a CBS TV series. Instead of cancelling though, the network renewed it, with the requisite cast changes. Its numbers fell further last year, but it still wasn't cancelled, probably thanks to licensing deal concessions. Will the third season see the audience grow or further diminish, and if so, how low can it go? Will Code Black be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. **Status update belowA CBS medical drama, Code Black stars Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzmán, Rob Lowe, Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, William Allen Young, Emily Tyra, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind, and Moon Bloodgood. Angels Memorial is closing its doors. CBS has cancelled its Code Black TV show after three seasons. Creator and showrunner Michael Seitzman has already confirmed the Code Black cancellation. Although the production utilized the extraordinary measures of amputating some original series regulars (Raza Jaffrey and Bonnie Somerville) and grafting on a big name (Rob Lowe), the patient eventually succumbed to acute ratings anemia. CBS has pulled the plug on medical drama “Code Black” after three seasons.
Series creator and showrunner Michael Seitzman first broke the news on Twitter.
“Dear #CodeBlack fans, the sad news came today that we were cancelled,” he wrote. “It’s been a true joy to make this show and watch your response every week. Thank you for all of your passion. Truly, our best episodes have yet to air. We hope you’ll watch and enjoy them. We made them for you.”
The series takes place in the fictional Angels Memorial Hospital, where the high number often outnumbered the limited resources available to doctors and patients, creating a situation known in some hospitals as a “code black.”
It stars Marcia Gay Harden, Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Emily Tyra, William Allen Young, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind, Moon Bloodgood, Luis Guzmán, and Rob Lowe. Michael Seitzman, David Marshall Grant,...

CBS medical drama Code Black will not return for a fourth season. Creator/showrunner Michael Seitzman revealed the news in a note to fans early Thursday on Twitter.
“The sad news came today that we were cancelled,” Seitzman wrote. “It’s been a true joy to make this show and watch your response every week. Thank you for all of your passion. Truly, our best episodes have yet to air. We hope you’ll watch and enjoy them. We made them for you.”

The series returned April 25 to soft numbers, with its Season 3 premiere down 33% compared with last season’s debut. It came down to the wire last year, with the show getting a last-minute Season 3 renewal, as it did for Season 2. Because of the late start, the network this year postponed the renewal decision until after the upfronts.

The decision not to renew for a fourth season was not a surprise. Seitzman wrote that the season finale was written as a series ender. “We always suspected this would be the last season. We wrote it to end that way,” he tweeted.

Created by Seitzman, Code Black took place in the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation, where the staggering influx of patients outweighed the limited resources available to the doctors and nurses whose job is to treat them all – creating a condition known as Code Black.
Marcia Gay Harden starred along with Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, William Allen Young, Emily Tyra, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind and Moon Bloodgood, along with Luis Guzmán and Rob Lowe.
The series was produced by ABC Television Studios in association with CBS Television Studios. Seitzman executive produced with David Marshall Grant, Rob Bowman, Marti Noxon, Linda Goldstein Knowlton, Ryan McGarry and Mike Weiss.

Things might be getting a little meta this season.
One of the new residents introduced on Code Black Season 3 Episode 1 is filming a documentary ... something along the lines of what Ryan McGarry made about the Los Angeles County Hospital ER.
But he's not the only newbie, and boy did they have a hell of a first day.
Pepper definitely had it the worst. Who gets accidentally dosed with fentanyl on their first day?! I hope her insurance and sick time kicks in right away.
Despite her being, well, unconscious for most of the hour, we learned a surprising amount about the new female resident. In addition to being a little meek and self-doubting, her real name is Andrea and she had throat cancer as a kid.

Season 3 opens with “Mama” introducing himself to the first-year residents, per tradition. They include Diego Avila (Scream‘s Tyler Perez), whose wealthy father pulled strings to get him the position, and Pepper Russo (Nashville‘s Chaley Rose), who has the worst first day ever. While Diego is busy filming everything for his documentary about Angels Memorial, Pepper — who puked during an earlier trauma — accidentally inhales fentanyl and passes out. Premiere dates for two of the most popular dramas on CBS have finally been announced.
Yes, we're talking about Elementary and Code Black here.
Thankfully, Elementary has dodged the dreaded Sunday night timeslot this time around and will instead unspool its sixth season on Monday nights at 10/9c starting April 30.
The show will take over from Scorpion which wraps its season on April 23. Elementary was given a surprise renewal last year from CBS after continued erosion in the ratings.
The move was said to be down to the money the series brings with various syndication deals. In short, the show is said to turn in a big profit for CBS.
A vote of confidence from CBS came in November when the network increased the show's order from 13 episodes to 21 for Season 6.
Elementary Season 5 concluded with Sherlock hallucinating conversations with his deceased mother, while Joan discovered the severity of her partner's condition.
