‘Fixed’ Review: Genndy Tartakovsky’s Canine Comedy Aims for Low-Hanging Fruit
Image
Genndy Tartakovsky has spent much of his career considering what’s appropriate for children, whether at Cartoon Network or at the helm of three Hotel Transylvania films. Now, with the R-rated Fixed, he’s off the leash, and using traditional animation rather than CGI. But even if Tartakovsky achieved a sense of catharsis from being able to animate a dog’s bouncing nutsack, it doesn’t translate to a fulfilling viewing experience.

That nutsack belongs to Bull (Adam DeVine), but not for long. His human owners have had enough of him humping everything from Grandma’s leg to the backyard garden hose, and now he’s set to be neutered. Bull, though, isn’t about to take this lying down—especially when it might ruin his chances with the show dog next door (Kathryn Hahn). So he breaks out of his backyard and sets out for a raucous night in the city,...

‘Fixed’ Review: Genndy Tartakovsky’s Netflix Animated Feature Is a Hilariously Dirty Delight
Image
Not since Ralph Bakshi’s Fritz the Cat and its sequel have cartoon animals gotten so down and dirty as they do in the latest animated effort by director Genndy Tartakovsky. Depicting the travails of a dog facing the fate alluded to in the title, Fixed plays like a canine version of The 25th Hour, except that instead of going to prison the next day, the main character is about to be neutered.

Those who are easily offended may want to steer clear of this Netflix movie, co-scripted by Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Hotel Transylvania) with Jon Vitti (The Simpsons). But if, let’s say, South Park is a regular part of your animated diet, you’ll find plenty of amusement in this relentlessly raunchy and vulgar comedy.

A perfectly cast Adam DeVine plays the central role of Bull, who is clearly experiencing the male dog version of heat. He’s relentlessly horny,...

With a $30 million production budget, Fixed is a relatively inexpensive film compared to others of its kind, like Coco ($175 million) and Elio ($150-200 million). Of its $30 million, a major chunk was attributed to animation and special effects, leaving...

Fixed (Fantasia) Review: A throwback animated comedy full of heart, buttholes and adult humor
Image
Plot: From visionary director Genndy Tartakovsky comes “Fixed,” an adult animated comedy about Bull, an average, all-around good dog who discovers he’s going to be neutered in the morning! As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of best friends as these are the last 24 hours with his balls! What could go wrong…?

Review: If you have ever had an animated film recommended but brushed it off by saying that cartoons are for kids, you are missing out. From the pantheon of Japanese animated fare that rival live-action projects to classic American films like Heavy Metal, animation has been a medium with just as many projects aimed at adults as it has towards children. In recent years, movies like Sausage Party have amped up the raunch factor to reclaim animation for mature audiences. Still, Seth Rogen’s food-oriented...

Netflix’s New Releases Coming in August 2025
Image
An Oxford-set college rom-com from the guy behind The Inbetweeners; the return of one of Netflix’s biggest ever shows; Genndy Tartakovsky’s latest adult animated project; Vanessa Kirby’s return to more intimate dramas about the human condition; a documentary that promised to shed new light on the Jussie Smollett hate crime incident; and a murder mystery film featuring several British and Irish acting icons are some of the highlights among the new films and series hitting Netflix in August.

Kicking off August is the rom-com My Oxford Year, which focuses on the tried and trusted formula of a young American girl heading to stuffy old Europe and finding love with some impossibly handsome and terribly charming guy, so it’s almost guaranteed to find a huge audience. In this instance, Sofia Carson plays Anna, an ambitious American student at Oxford University whose life is changed when she meets...

Fixed Trailer: Idris Elba Voices a Streetwise in Genndy Tartakovsky’s Raunchiest Dog Animation
Image
Netflix has just dropped a brand new look, a sneak peek trailer for Fixed, the upcoming adult animated comedy from Emmy-winning director Genndy Tartakovsky. The trailer gives a hilarious and unfiltered look at the group of dogs, led by Adam Devine’s Bull. Idris Elba voices Rocco, Bull’s tough but loyal friend.

In this trailer, the dogs are running at full speed, led by their humans, all heading urgently outside for their morning pee and poop ritual. What adds more laughs is their desperate and exaggerated words, “gotta go, gotta go” before they take care of their business.

Fixed premieres August 13, 2025, exclusively on Netflix, and boasts an all-star cast that includes Idris Elba, Adam Devine, and Kathryn Hahn. With vibrant 2D animation and a sharp adult edge, the movie marks Sony Pictures Animation’s first-ever R-rated feature.

NBC Fall 2025 Premiere Dates — The Hunting Party Benched (For Good Reason) & Dick Wolf Dual-Night Three-Hour Block Returns
Image
We officially have the NBC Fall lineup, and it looks exactly as we would’ve expected.

Unfortunately, we’re still lamenting the loss of scripted TV with the acquisition of basketball, and the Fall slate certainly reflects that, as there is slim pickings outside of One Chicago, Law & Order, and Brilliant Minds.

But it’s still comforting to have stalwart franchises on their same nights. The familiarity of that breeds comfort.

(David Astorga/NBC)

Wednesdays and Thursdays are the juggernaut nights with a full slate of the two franchises. Because, yes, Law & Order: Organized Crime will accompany the other Law & Orders on Thursdays, airing the fifth season to those who may not have tuned in for it on Peacock.

Given that we still don’t have word on the series’ renewal, they’re hoping to build up a bigger audience by re-airing it on broadcast.

Countdown Season 1 Episode...

Indie Podcast Studio Sonar Network Launches Star-Driven Scripted Series StanLand
Image
While much of the podcast industry has grown cautious and consolidated, one small independent studio is proving you don’t need a big budget to make something big.

Toronto-based Sonar Network, an indie podcast company founded in 2017 by a group of local comedians, is releasing its most ambitious series to date: StanLand, a five-part scripted audio comedy featuring an A-list cast including Rhea Seehorn, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Little, Jon Hamm, and John Waters. The series premieres July 29 on all major podcast platforms, with early access to the full series and exclusive bonus content available via Apple Podcasts Subscriptions.

Created and written by humorist Mike Sacks, StanLand follows a missing podcaster and a mediocre Maryland man who stumble into a once-magical kingdom now overrun by vape shops, dollar stores, and gated retirement communities. The result is a surreal, sound-rich satire of late-stage capitalism, part fantasy adventure, part cultural mirror.

Why Did Adam Devine’s Fixed Take 16 Years to Release on Netflix? Details Revealed
Image
After 16 years of development limbo and multiple studio shakeups, Genndy Tartakovsky’s long-awaited animated movie, Fixed, will finally premiere on Netflix on August 13, 2025. The movie stars Adam Devine as a dog trying to enjoy one last wild night before getting neutered. Fixed was first pitched in 2009 but faced years of delays, partly due to studio hesitations over its adult content.

Originally pitched at Sony Pictures Animation, Tartakovsky’s project was shelved after new executives rejected the R-rated concept. Tartakovsky told The Hollywood Reporter,

New executives came in, and they’re like: Yeah, we don’t want to do this.’ Back then, in 2008/09, things were different. Nobody’s making R-rated films. This is pre-Sausage Party [ Seth Rogen’s raunchy animated hit from 2016], pre-all that stuff.

Later, it bounced to New Line Cinema under Warner Bros., only to be shelved again during David Zaslav’s cost-cutting purge at Warner Bros. Discovery. Eventually,...

Donald Trump Had No Idea ‘Drunk Uncle’ Was Roasting Him on ‘SNL’
Image
Would Bobby Moynihan’s Drunk Uncle be supporting Rfk Jr. these days? Would he have a little 5G in his bloodstream? One of the reasons the SNL character was so popular was that Moynihan’s comic intentions were so clear — the audience understood that the character’s perspective was Wtf ridiculous. But there’s one Drunk Uncle moment that “has stained it in my mind,” he said recently on the Syd & Olivia Talk Sh*t podcast.

When Donald Trump hosted SNL back in 2015, he was clear with Lorne Michaels and the show’s writers that he didn’t appreciate sketches that made fun of him. Trump could veto a number of mocking bits during the week, but Weekend Update was another matter. “Update we don’t write till the end of the week,” Moynihan said, “and he didn’t see it until Saturday.”

Drunk Uncle appeared as the presidential candidate’s #1 fan.

Fixed Review — Genndy Tartakovsky’s Triumphant Return Is an Artistic Adult Animation
Image
Animator Genndy Tartakovsky made a name for himself with Cartoon Network shows like Dexter’s Laboratory and Samurai Jack, establishing him as one of the voices to watch in animation in the ‘90s and early aughts. Because of this, animation fans won’t dismiss his latest work as just another raunchy adult animated movie — although it doesn’t lack the raunchy fun — Fixed is a genuinely artistic, well-made picture with the unmistakable touch of its creator.

Fixed Review

Fixed follows a horny mutt who discovers that his humans are going to take him to the vet in the morning to be neutered, causing him to go out on the town for one last night of debauchery before losing his manhood. The best way to describe this film is like The Hangover if it were made for Adult Swim, and it’s just as crazy as that sounds.

Fixed (L to R) Beck Bennett as Sterling,...

Using the new technology, Mabel (Curda) will uncover mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.

Produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle, the movie also features the voices of Bobby Moynihan and Jon Hamm.

Hilarious Red Band Teaser for 'Fixed' R-Rated Animated Dog Comedy

Fixed: Red band trailer goes balls out for adult animated comedy
Adam Devine
It’s been a couple of months since we first got images from upcoming adult animated feature Fixed, but now we have the first teaser – and it makes good use of its red band label.

In the red band teaser, we meet Bull (voiced by Adam Devine). Two years later, he’s humping away at anything and anyone he can. But before he heads to the vet to get, well, fixed, he’s going to go out for one wild night with his dawgs to chase some tail – be it puppy or squirrel.

Starting with the trope of “getting the guys out for one more wild night”, Fixed director and co-writer Genndy Tartakovsky (the Hotel Transylvania movies) thought it would be fun to put that into the world of canines. As he told Netflix Tudum earlier this year, “I have been friends with the same group of four guys since high school.

‘Fixed’ Trailer: Netflix Unveils Director’s Cut Taster For Genndy Tartakovsky’s R-Rated Comedy About A Randy Dog
Image
Dog lovers around the world may find it hard to look their male, canine friends in the eyes again after watching Genndy Tartakovsky’s upcoming adult animated movie Fixed.

The R-rated comedy follows the adventures of Bull an average, all-around good dog who discovers he’s going to be taken to the vet to be neutered in the morning by his owners, exasperated by his constant humping of grandma’s leg.

As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of best friends in the last 24 hours with his balls intact.

Netflix has released a red band director’s cut trailer for the movie – giving a taster of the whacky boundary-pushing animation ahead of its launch on the platform on August 13.

'Pitch Perfect' Star Gets One More Night of Fun Before He's 'Fixed' in Netflix's Red Band Dog Comedy Trailer
Image
Adam Devine is about to lose his family jewels. With a month left until the release of Genndy Tartakovsky's raunchy animated dog comedy Fixed, Netflix released the official red band trailer introducing Bull, a generally good dog played by the Pitch Perfect star who enjoys life with his family. However, everything changes when he finds out he's about to be neutered, leaving the pooch one night to enjoy his balls before they're gone for good. Cue one final adventure for Bull and his pals to ensure he squeezes as much out of his nuts in the 24 hours they have left. Alas, from the looks of the trailer, their night on the town is about to get wild in ways the canine companions never fully anticipated.

The footage starts wholesome enough with the father of the house introducing the young, bright-eyed Bull fresh from the shelter. Two years later, and he's a lean,...

‘Fixed’ Red Band Trailer Gives a Taste of Just How Naughty Netflix’s Animated Dog Comedy Is
Image
Genndy Tartakovsky’s R-rated animated dog comedy “Fixed” is nearly here.

The movie, which was stuck in limbo after original distributor New Line Cinema backed down following the film’s completion, will arrive on Netflix on August 13. And ahead of the movie’s debut, the streamer has released a red band trailer, which you can watch below. Make sure the kids are out of the room, as it definitely leans into the movie’s outrageousness.

In “Fixed,” a dog named Bull (voiced by Adam Devine) is facing his day of reckoning – the day that he is fixed. Convinced that it’s an act of mutilation (and that his human family doesn’t love him), he heads out on a hedonistic voyage with some of his best dog pals for one last hurrah. It’s absolutely insane and yet oddly sweet, like if “Lady and the Tramp” was mixed with Spike Lee’s “The 25th Hour.

Image
For two decades, animation auteur Genndy Tartakovsky has been pushing the limits of kids’ animation, via beloved shows like “Dexter’s Laboratory” and “Samurai Jack.” In recent years, he’s largely abandoned the constraints of children’s media entirely, with his latest projects like the “Samurai Jack” reboot and “Primal” airing on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block and indulging in violence and gore befitting the grown ups who grew up watching and loving his old classics. His latest project, feature film “Fixed,” is mature in a completely different way, telling a dog story with wildly puerile and filthy sexual humor. And that’s on full display in the Director’s Cut trailer, which Netflix released this Thursday.

Directed by Tartakovsky and co-written by him and Jon Vitti (best known for his work on “The Simpsons”), “Fixed” focuses on 24 hours in the life of Bull (voiced by Adam DeVine), a good-natured...

Disney & Pixar's Newest Sci-Fi Movie Unveils Brain-Hopping First Trailer
Image
After Elio flopped at the box office, Disney and Pixar are looking to bounce back with their next animated feature. The first trailer has been released for Hoppers, which will hop into theaters next spring.

Hoppers takes place in a world where scientists have discovered how to 'hop' human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals. The teaser trailer introduces audiences to animal lover Mabel Tanaka, voiced by Piper Curda, "who seizes an opportunity to use the technology, uncovering mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined," according to the movie's official synopsis. One of those mysteries, as the trailer reveals, is that animals are totally okay with being eaten by one another, since predators have to "eat someone" to stay alive. Check out the teaser trailer and poster for Hoppers below.

Pixar’s Hoppers trailer presents a body-swap comedy with over-the-top tech, winking humor, and Darwinism
Image
We already know human nature is messy, but what about the animal kingdom? What if you could swap bodies with a woodland creature? What if you could communicate with other creatures and gain a first-person perspective of Mother Nature in all her glory? Pixar‘s Hoppers trailer will answer a few of these questions and perhaps pose more.

Pixar‘s Hoppers trailer introduces moviegoers to an animal lover named Mabel (voice of Piper Curda), who jumps at the opportunity—or hops, in fact—to try new technology that allows her to communicate with animals in an exciting new way.

In Pixar’s new animated film, scientists have discovered how to “hop” human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals! Using the new technology, Mabel (Curda) will uncover mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined. Produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle,...

‘Hoppers’ Trailer: The Human & Animal Worlds Collide In Pixar Toon
Image
“So let me get this straight,” the animal-loving girl says. “You created a fake animal which makes the other animals think you’re an animal?” “Yes!” the scientist replies with glee.

“Guys, this is like Avatar,” Mabel says.

Scientist: “This is nothing like Avatar!”

Here is the first trailer for Hoppers, the latest Pixar toon from Disney, which hits theaters next year. Check it out above.

In the pic from We Bare Bears helmer Daniel Chong, science has found a way to “hop” human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals. Using the new technology, Mabel (Piper Curda) will uncover mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.

Mabel “hops” into the life of a beaver, and along the way she learns about dragonfly dudes, vibing birds, “pond rules” — eat, be eaten, make it “weird” and get off the...

Jump Into the Animal Kingdom With Pixar's Brand New-Must Watch Movie Trailer
Image
At some point in our lives, many of us have wondered what it would be like to talk to and understand animals the same way we do humans. Pixar is now diving headfirst into the animal kingdom to explore that quandary in its new animated feature, Hoppers, which is due out on March 6, 2026. Announced at D23 last year, the adventurous film introduces the titular Hoppers, scientists who have mastered the art of transporting the human consciousness into the bodies of lifelike robotic creatures to get up close and personal with the world's furry critters. Although the film is still over half a year away, the first trailer is officially here to introduce viewers to the animal-loving Mabel, who's about to go on a journey into nature full of unexpected mysteries to unravel and fauna to save. Collider's Michael Zimmerman was also able to speak with the film's director, Daniel Chong,...

‘Hoppers’ Trailer: Pixar Film Pokes Fun at ‘Avatar’ as a Young Scientist Gets Put Into the Body of a Beaver
Image
Pixar has unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming animated feature “Hoppers.”

“Hoppers” are a group of scientists who have discovered a way to mind-hop into robot animal bodies. So when Mabel (Piper Curda), an animal lover, learns that a construction company wants to destroy the local animal habitat, she uses the clever new technology to inhabit the body of a beaver.

“This is like ‘Avatar,'” Mabel quips in awe as she steps into the machine. “It’s not like ‘Avatar,'” her colleague replies.

Speaking with Variety, director Daniel Chong said the whole discussion had been debated about unveiling the “Avatar” joke in the trailer. “I think there are a couple of reasons why it was good to just put it out there. One is to let you know we know that, you know, it’s quite similar, at least the premise sounds a lot like ‘Avatar.'...

There’s a Heated Race to Design the Best Lego ‘SNL’ Set
Image
For those not familiar with the world of Legos, you may not be aware that there’s an entire platform dedicated to submissions for new Lego sets the company should sell. Called Lego Ideas, the site is home to fan-made creations awaiting the opportunity for mass production. Some of the top submissions at the moment include a scene from One Direction’s “That’s What Makes You Beautiful” music video, and the Cullen house from Twilight, which is actually now available to purchase as a Lego set.

Right now, there’s also a heated race between two different concepts for Saturday Night Live’s Studio 8H. First reported on by Late Nighter, each set presents 8H in a slightly different interpretation. The first, “50 Years of Saturday Night Live,” was submitted by YouTuber Jon Sosis and former SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan back in January. It includes recreations of the Weekend Update desk,...

Bobby Moynihan Was Constantly Asked for Photos of Other ‘SNL’ Cast Members’ Feet
Image
Some people just have a natural energy that makes others feel comfortable sharing things they might otherwise not. A friendly face and/or a welcoming smile can be a recipe for hearing deep trauma from someone you’re still struggling to remember the name of. Apparently, this extends far beyond personal run-ins and into the world of celebrity. Bobby Moynihan appears to be one of those people.

When he was a cast member on Saturday Night Live, the fact that he seemed like one of the more personable members of the cast certainly helped him cement himself as a mainstay, but at the same time, it may have made some fans a little too comfortable with him. To the point where they took it as a given that he would be the sort of person who would happily help them execute their own pervy little designs.

Moynihan recently appeared on...
