Wu-Tang Clan have linked up with longtime producer Mathematics for a special Record Store Day release titled Black Samson, The Bastard Swordsman.

Coming from the Wu-Tang, The Saga Continues collection, the 12-track album is limited to 5,000 copies that will only be sold at participating Record Store Day retailers on April 12th.

Hulu is rewarding the patience of Wu-Tang: An American Saga fans, setting a Wednesday, Sept. 8 premiere date for the drama’s second season.

The first three episodes of Season 2 will drop all at once, followed by one installment on subsequent Wednesdays. The show’s last episode dropped way back in October 2019, followed by a formal Season 2 pickup in January 2020.

Wu-Tan Clan rapper Raekwon will publish his memoir, The Story of Raekwon, in 2021 via Gallery Books.

Per a statement, the book will find Raekwon chronicling his life from “drug dealer to hip-hop godfather,” while delving into the Wu-Tang Clan’s “early growing pains in an industry that wasn’t ready for their success.” Raekwon co-wrote the book with Anthony Bozza, who has penned books on Eminem and AC/DC, and also co-written autobiographies with a mix of musicians and entertainers, including Slash, Tommy Lee, Wyclef Jean, Tracy Morgan, Inxs, and Mick Fleetwood.

“Cut Throat City” marks RZA’s third directed feature film, and he says it’s the project he feels the most confident in as a filmmaker.

“I actually do think I found my voice,” the founding member of rap supergroup Wu-Tang Clan tells Variety. RZA, whose real name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, previously helmed 2012’s martial arts-western “The Man With the Iron Fists” and 2017’s romantic drama “Love Beats Rhymes.”

“So, the third feature really for me is what I would call the consolidation piece. I feel concrete in my style of storytelling,” he says.

The action film, set in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans, stars Shameik Moore as Blink, a college-educated aspiring comic book artist who, along with several friends, becomes entangled with a local criminal (played by Tip “T.I.” Harris) and is tasked with pulling off a dangerous heist. Eiza González, Ethan Hawke, Kat Graham and Wesley Snipes also star.

“Wu Tang: An American Saga,” created and written by the RZA and Alex Tse, depicts the early days of the Wu-Tang Clan in 1990s New York. Hulu renewed the scripted series for a second season in January.

But the end of its 10-episode first season had many fans wondering, “Whither U-God?,” a member of the rap collective since its inception (real name Lamont Hawkins), who had yet to make an appearance. Fans can wonder no more; RZA confirmed to Variety exclusively that U-God will be depicted in the show’s sophomore season.

“Yes, he’s signed on for Season 2. He always was going to be part of it,” said RZA, adding that U-God has been consulting on the show.

In 2018, U-God published “Raw: My Journey into the Wu-Tang,” a memoir on his career with the group, at one point detailing how fractured the rap collective had become.

Wu-Tang Clan ain’t nuthing ta f— with, but both Hulu and Showtime are messing with their story in separate biographical projects this year. Hulu’s “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” is the scripted version to Showtime’s documentary, which is already out, so exactly how accurate to the rap group’s life story will the still-upcoming one be?

That was the first question Friday at the show’s Television Critics Association press tour panel.

“We like to call it a historical fiction,” co-creator, writer and executive producer Alex Tse told reporters. “So, there are things in it that actually happened, there are versions of events, some moving around the timeline — but spiritually it’s very truthful and accurate.”

The docuseries is directed by Sacha Jenkins, whose relationship with the group dates back to the early ’90s when, as a co-founding publisher of one of hip-hop’s first zines, Beat Down, he gave the group its first cover. Sony Pictures is in early development of a biopic about the late rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard with his cousin and Wu-Tang leader RZA attached to produce.

Sony had no comment on the project, which does not have a director or actors attached. RZA has an extensive resume in Hollywood as an actor in “Californication” and “American Gangster” and director of “The Man with the Iron Fists” and “Cut Throat City,” starring Wesley Snipes and T.I.

Ol’ Dirty Bastard was born as Russell Tyrone Jones in 1968. He took the stage name Ol’ Dirty Bastard, also known as O.D.B., from the 1980 martial arts film “Ol’ Dirty and the Bastard” and helped found the rap collective Wu-Tang Clan in Staten Island with his cousins RZA and Gza along with Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta Killa.

Og Wu-Tang Clan member U-God wants his group to know He ain't nothing to f*** with in court -- he says the Wu's been screwing him out of revenue for years, so now he's gotta sue. In the docs filed in NYC, U-God says he's contributed to about 170 tracks for the group since its inception in 1993 ... but says he hasn't been getting his share of royalties off 12 Wu-Tang albums, for at least the last 6 years.

The RZA, producer and rapper with hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan, has written a track to commemorate Paul Walker, the Hollywood actor who was killed in a car crash on Saturday.

Destiny Bends features the RZA (real name Robert Diggs) beginning "I want to dedicate this song to my friend Paul Walker", with soul artist Will Wells singing the rest of the ballad, co-written by the pair and Diggs's two sons. Diggs starred with Walker in Brick Mansions, an action remake of Luc Besson's District 13 that is set for release in 2014, and the song recalls their bonding on set. "Thanks for the time and the smiles you shared with me", run one passage of the lyrics.

Music biopics come and go, but this spring minds were blown when the always awesome Michael K. Williams was cast as Ol' Dirty Bastard in the film "Dirty White Boy." Of course, any movie involving Odb has to include the Wu-Tang Clan, and the idea of trying to find actors to fill those roles would be a mind-boggling challenge. But likely, the filmmakers don't have to worry about that.

Wu-Tang have some "Legendary Weapons" up their sleeves. The new collaborative project from the equally legendary rap troupe is scheduled to drop July 26, and has the promise of executive production from RZA, the band backing of Brooklyn's The Revelations and a high number of contributions from Ghostface Killah. A released describes the 14-track "throw-back sound" set as being "inspired by classic soul and kung fu imagery," neither of whcih are surprises coming from these guys. Check out the trailer that dropped today for the upcoming Wu-Tang documentary, Wu-Tang Revealed, directed by the Gza. There have been other documentaries, but it’s clear that they are all devastatingly sub-par based on this trailer alone. (Be sure to watch until the very end for an old Odb clip.) Never before have we been able to see such an intimate portrait of one of the greatest musical groups of all time. Of course there is going to be plenty of drama – several of the group’s members are notoriously fiery. Hot tempered U-God can be seen bickering with Raekwon in the trailer as Inspectah Deck eats pancakes in the background. It’s already a classic based on that clip alone! It looks like the documentary will also feature in-depth interviews with the RZA, Method Man, and hopefully the other members. The Gza has access to the Wu like no one has before,...

There are plenty of reasons why the Wu-Tang Clan is the greatest hip-hop collective in the history of the genre. Their beats (mainly programmed by mastermind the RZA) are totally sick, their microphone skills are always on point (even the weakest members of the Clan are top-shelf spitters) and their use of imagery and pop culture make them a cultural force that has allowed them to infiltrate just about every corner of the entertainment industry.

But when you get right down to it, their nicknames certainly don't hurt them either. The main members of the Wu-Tang Clan have some of the greatest rap names ever put together, most of them simultaneously explaining exactly who that person is and also creating an air of mystery. When you hear the name Raekwon the Chef or Ghostface Killah, you know exactly what you're going to get from either one of those individuals. Not...

Wu-Tang Clan have confirmed details of an upcoming collection of previously-unreleased tracks. Titled Return Of The Wu And Friends, the record features cuts from across the collective's career and is due for arrival on March 1. New York — Ol' Dirty Bastard was a larger-than-life character. Now, the Wu-Tang Clan rapper has a eulogy that's as extravagant as he was with the documentary "Dirty: One Word Can Change the World."

The long-in-the-making project was finally released as a straight-to-dvd set Tuesday. To celebrate the project, ImageNation presented a screening at the National Black Theatre in Harlem last night. Odb's mother, Cherry Jones, and other family members attended the intimate affair.

"Dirty," directed by Odb's cousin Raison Allah, set out to answer the question: Who was Dirty?
