Naked and Afraid contestants suffer through a lot if they want to win the show. One thing that they have to contend with is that they are naked. This means that every part of their body is at risk and nothing is protected as they traverse through the wilderness settings. This came back to bite one cast member who suffered an injury “down below.”

This is also the second time that he injured himself in the same spot. The first came one year ago. Here is what you need to know.

Naked and Afraid Suffers Second Injury In A Year

When contestants go on Naked and Afraid, they know there is a strong risk of injury. Hurt feet, broken bones, rashes, and burns are all common when people are traveling through the wilderness trying to survive. However, one contestant suffered his second injury in a spot where no man wants to deal with pain.

Naked and Afraid Xl has brought back 12 returning survivalists and sent them on a 40-day journey through the wilderness. One of these returning stars is Nathan Martinez. The survivalist was starting his journey with the rest of the competitors this season and had something important to tell them.

The difference between Naked and Afraid Xl and the regular Naked and Afraid series is the length of the challenge. While the original series is a 21-day challenge, Xl is a 40-day challenge that promises to be “soul-breaking.” This new Discovery Channel series sees monkey swarms, swimming snakes, ticks, jaguars, parasites, and more.

The new season, shot in Colombia, will premiere on Discovery Channel on May 12, 2024 at 8pm Et/Pt. New episodes will air on Sundays.

Discovery released this description of the upcoming season: “This season, the survivalists will take on Naked and Afraid Xl’s Proving Grounds and test their mettle by taking on the most extreme challenge, with an unexpected twist. Not only will they endure blood-sucking mosquitos, ants and ticks, disease-carrying parasites, as well as stalking jaguars and a territorial six-foot caiman, but they must now also trek 40 miles across six unique terrains to reach the end of the challenge.

CBS has announced the lineup of six teams of lifelong friends who will be participating in the upcoming reality competition series “Buddy Games.” Hosted by Josh Duhamel, the show is set to premiere on Thursday, September 14 at 9:00 Pm Et/Pt on the CBS Television Network and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.

“Buddy Games” brings together six teams of four close-knit friends, who have known each other at different stages of their lives, for a nostalgic summer camp adventure at a picturesque lakeside location. These friends will engage in a variety of physically and mentally challenging activities, aiming to relive their glory days while testing their bonds and friendships. Throughout the series, friendships will be put to the test as they compete to prove their connection is the strongest.

Six teams from across the U.S. will compete in season one of CBS’s new reality competition series Buddy Games. Josh Duhamel executive produces and serves as host as teams representing Chicago’s police department, a Los Angeles roller derby team, and a team who met while doing pageants attempt to claim the Buddy Games trophy.

Season one also includes Team Pride, friends representing the LGBTQ+ community; Team Ok, friends from Oklahoma; and Team Philly Forever, friends who grew up together in Philadelphia.

Buddy Games will join CBS’s primetime lineup on September 14, 2023. The series will air on Thursdays at 9pm Et/Pt in between Big Brother at 8pm and Challenge: USA at 10pm.

Nine challengers are abandoned at a remote tropical island, with no maps or tools, miles away from civilization. In teams of three, they must swim to different ecosystems on the same island – sun-scorched beach, twisted mangrove swamp and dense jungle – to begin their distinct survival journeys.

Naked and Afraid season 12's Andrew Shayde is returning for the 15th installment of the survivalist competition, and he's been busy since his first appearance on the show. The Discovery series, which has been airing since 2013, gives survivalists true challenges to face. They are dropped into desolate locations with only one personal item apiece, and partners that they've never met before. Left naked and without food, shelter, or gear of any kind, participants must survive for 21 days in order to successfully complete the challenge.
