Marvin J. Levy(1928-2025)

Marvin J. Levy is Senior Advisor to Steven Spielberg at Amblin Partners. He segued to Amblin Partners from Dreamworks Studios, and from Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment before that, where he was a marketing consultant since 1982 handling advertising. publicity, and promotions for motion pictures and television. Previously, he had an eight-year association with Columbia Pictures where he was vice president of advertising/publicity/promotion. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of New York University's College of Arts and Science, he served on the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 23 years. He was the Chairman of the Academy's Public Relations Branch for many of those years. In 2018, Levy was honored with an Academy Award at the annual Governors Awards, the very first honorary Oscar ever for a member of the Academy's publicity branch.
