Amsterdam and Los-Angeles based sales agent Skoop Media, formerly known as Dutch Features, has sold a package of drama series and feature films to Amazon Prime Video for the Netherlands and Belgium.

For the Netherlands, the deal includes two seasons of the Belgian streaming comedy F*** You Very Very Much directed by Bert Scholiers and Jonas Govaerts and produced by Caviar and Finnish streamer Eliisa Viihde’s upcoming mystery thriller series Evilside.

Also included are Andy Fehu’s Czech comedy horror Shoky & Morthy: Last Big Thing...

Christian Lo directs the family comedy that will shoot in July in Stockholm.

Netherlands-based sales company Dutch Features Global Entertainment has acquired world rights to Christian Lo’s upcoming family comedy Mini-Zlatan And Uncle Darling.

The film will shoot in Stockholm in July for delivery in spring 2022; Dutch Features is starting pre-sales at the Pre-Cannes Screenings.

Based on the children’s book by Swedish author Pija Lindenbaum, the story follows Ella, nicknamed Mini-Zlatan, who looks forward to spending a week with her favourite uncle Tommy. But when Tommy’s new boyfriend Steve shows up, Ella is determined to get rid of him.

Psychological drama is from the director of mass shooting feature ’Utoya - July 22’.

Norwegian filmmaker Erik Poppe is set to direct a period drama about infamous Norwegian prime minister and Nazi collaborator Vidkun Quisling.

Quisling will be produced by Paradox, Sf Studios’ Norwegian production company, which was run for many years by Poppe with producers Finn Gjerdrum and Stein B. Kvae.

The team describes the feature as a psychological drama. Quisling was eventually put on trial and executed for his collaboration with the Nazis during the Second World War.

Shooting will begin in late 2021 and Sf Studios will handle Nordic distribution.

Haugesund’s New Nordic Films will run as a hybrid event Aug 18-21.

Isabella Eklof, the Danish director of Sundance 2018 selection Holiday and co-writer of Cannes 2018 award-winner Border, is presenting her new feature project Kalak as part of Haugesund’s New Nordic Films Co-Production Market (August 18-21).

This year’s hybrid event will see with some participants physically attend the event in Norway and others watching online films and presentations.

Gustav Möller’s The Guilty wins critics’ choice award.

Lukas Dhont’s Girl won the Golden Eye for best international feature film at this year’s Zurich Film Festival (26 Sept - 7 Oct).

The film, about a 15-year-old transgender girl studying at a prestigious Belgian dance academy, premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Caméra d’Or award for best first feature, as well as the Queer Palm. It is the Belgian submission for the 2019 Oscars.

The Berlin Film Festival (15 - 25 Feb)has revealed the full list of titles that will play in this year’s Generation sidebar, which focuses on youth and children’s films.

In total there are 65 films, 30 of which are feature length in the Generation Kplus and Generation 14plus competitions. They hail from 39 production and co-production companies.

The first batch of Generation titles were announced in December.

Hans Weingartner’s 303 will open The Generation 14plus competition, with Weingartner and the cast attending. Danish animation Den Utrolige Historie Om Den Kæmpestore Pære (The Incredible Story Of The Giant Pear) will open the Generation Kplus competition.

Closer collaboration is being promoted by two German public film funds and opposite numbers in Norway and Denmark.

This week will see Hanover-based nordmedia and the East Norwegian fund Film3 joining forces with the Oldenburg International Film Festival (Sept 10-14) in Lower Saxony to stage the festival’s first ever co-production meeting entitled ‘Linking The North’ on Sept 13.

The event will bring producers from Northern Germany and Norway together to discuss the co-production potential of ten fiction feature and documentary projects.

The line-up of projects seeking partners includes:

Dok Leipzig’s Golden Dove for Best International Documentary went to the Us, while Norway scored a hat-trick at the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck.

The top award in Leipzig’s International Documentary Competition went to Italian-born, Us-based film-maker Roberto Minervini’s Stop The Pounding Heart whose portrayal of a strict religious family was described by the jury as ¨refreshing and unsettling at the same time.¨

The Us-Belgian-Italian co-production is handled internationally by Doc & Film.

The Golden Dove in the German Documentary Competition was awarded to Carlo Zoratti for his feature-length debut The Special Need, while the newly-created Golden Dove for the animation-documentary hybrid form was presented to French director Daniela De Felice’s Casa.
