Teen Titans Theories Are Dead on Arrival and James Gunn Might Be the Killer
Image
A Teen Titans movie is one of the most anticipated projects from James Gunn‘s new Dcu, and recently, the DC Studios co-head provided a major update on the project during an interaction with a fan on Threads. Gunn made the following comment replying to a fan:

Anything you’ve heard about that movie is made up or a guess.

Despite previously confirming that a Teen Titans-centric project was in development, the filmmaker’s comments have seemingly ruled out a major fan theory regarding the iconic team’s roster. Here is why Gunn might have killed a major Dcu theory and what that means for a Teen Titans movie.

James Gunn Might’ve Just Killed a Major Dcu Teen Titans Theory

As Superman winds down its run at the box office, James Gunn recently took to Threads, where he answered fan questions regarding the Dcu’s future. On the social media platform,...

James Gunn's DC Universe Continues Adapting The Funniest Justice League Ever
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

The latest revealed DC Studios television project is a "Booster Gold" TV show from David Jenkins (creator of "Our Flag Means Death"), which has been ordered to pilot at HBO Max (per Deadline). Booster Gold (created by Dan Jurgens in 1986), aka Jon Michael Carter, is a time-traveling superhero from the future. Though he hails from the 25th century, his story is familiar: he's a jock who peaked in high school (being caught gambling on your own games will do that to you). So, he travels back in time in hope of becoming a big fish in a smaller pond.

Though Booster is dense and a self-promoting gloryhound, he's not a bad guy. He's similar to James Gunn's take on Peter Quill/Star-Lord and so should fit naturally into Gunn's new DC Universe if his pilot moves forward. "Booster Gold...

Jim Shooter Dies of Esophageal Cancer: His 5 Best Marvel Comics Including Avengers Secret Wars That You Must Read
Image
American writer, editor, and publisher Jim Shooter has passed away at the age of 73, bringing his legacy to an end. Fellow comic book writer Mark Waid revealed on Facebook that Shooter lost his fight with esophageal cancer, something he had “been battling for some time.”

Despite being a controversial figure, Shooter has contributed a lot to the world of comics, starting his journey at the young age of fourteen. He began his career by working for DC Comics before expanding his territory.

All 8 Infinity Stones In Marvel Comics & The MCU, Explained
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "Infinity Stone" is now a pop cultural shorthand. The six rainbow colored, cosmos-shaping Stones were slowly revealed movie by movie to be the primary MacGuffins of the MCU Phases 1-3. If you bring the Stones together then you can wield all of their power simultaneously and become a god. That is exactly what Thanos the Mad Titan (Josh Brolin) plans to do so that he can kill half the universe with a finger snap.

The Stones all have pretty simple and intuitive names, reflecting what aspect of the universe they control: Space, Time, etc. Those names are the same as they are in Marvel Comics, though there the artifacts have different colors and are typically known as Infinity Gems.

The most famous comic with the Infinity Gems is 1991's "The Infinity Gauntlet," by Jim Starlin,...

Dcu Rumor Roundup: Superman Has Reduced Number Of "Sex Jokes"; Update On Which Robin We'll See In Teen Titans
Image
Tickets for Superman will likely be on sale by the time you read this, and as excitement for the movie continues to build, all that negative test screening chatter feels like a distant memory.

The first Dcu movie has undergone some changes, though, and filmmaker James Gunn is thought to have shaken up Superman's editing and music teams. We've also confirmed that a day-of-the-week structure was recently removed for a slightly more linear storytelling approach.

You may recall that, following an early screening, we heard about the movie featuring some pretty risqué jokes (including Eve Teschmacher sexting Jimmy Olsen). All of Gunn's previous DC projects have been R-Rated—The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, and Creature Commandos—so we're not shocked to hear that he pushed the limits of Superman's PG-13 rating.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movies are PG-13, but feature noteworthy examples of adult humour; lest we forget that...

The Most Relevant Sci-Fi Story Of 2025 Is This New Comic Book
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Superhero movies have become infatuated with the multiverse. A lot of that must go back to Marv Wolfman and George Pérez's 1986 "Crisis on Infinite Earths," where all the heroes from DC Comics' vast multiverse band together against an omnicidal threat. But can the multiverse be used for greater storytelling than as a vehicle to throw blockbuster IP together? The new comic book "Assorted Crisis Events" says "Yes."

Since the first issue of "Assorted Crisis Events" (which I covered here), the series has been sold as "'Crisis On Infinite Earths' if it was happening to normal people." Written by Deniz Camp, penciled by Eric Zawadzki, and colored by Jordie Bellaire, "Assorted Crisis Events" is an anthology. The main character is the crisis itself. Reality is falling apart due to different time periods coming together and leaving people caught in its wake.

Marvel's Vision TV Series Will Introduce One Of The Avengers' Freakiest Characters
Image
Who is the Avengers' signature villain? Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most would say the Mad Titan Thanos, or maybe the Norse God of Mischief, Loki. But in the original Marvel comics, the team's greatest foe is definitely the android Ultron. Created by the Avengers' own Hank Pym/Ant-Man, Ultron's rage and destructiveness are limitless, and he keeps returning again and again like a bad penny. (If a bad penny could wipe out whole countries...)

Ultron (James Spader) was the villain of the second "Avengers" film, naturally titled "Age of Ultron." That age proved to be short-lived as Ultron seemingly perished, destroyed by his own "synthezoid" creation, the Vision (Paul Bettany). But the MCU Ultron seems to have inherited the original's knack for resurrection. The Vision is getting his own Disney+ show (reportedly titled "Vision Quest"), which will feature Spader back as Ultron. Who better to challenge "Vis" than his dear ol' dad?...

McU's 'Vision Quest' Casts T'Nia Milleras as Obscure Avenger Jocasta
Image
Vision Quest, the upcoming Disney+ series based on Paul Bettany's MCU character Vision, has seemingly found its female lead in T'Nia Miller. The showwill be the third chapter in a story that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. The series is overseen by Star Trek: Picard's Terry Matalas and sees the return of Bettany as Vision, alongside James Spader reprising his role as Ultron.

Deadline reports that T'Nia Miller, best known for her work on The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Fall of the House of Usher, has joined the cast of Marvel Television's upcoming Vision series. The trade outlet claims that she will play Jocasta, an AI created by Ultron, but Marvel has yet to confirm the character or Miller's involvement. Miller's Jocasta is described as cunning, powerful, and motivated by revenge, but it is not clear who she seeks revenge against.

8 Comic Book Villains The Avengers Should Face In A Post-secret Wars MCU
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's mightiest heroes first assembled in 2012's The Avengers to battle Loki and the Chitauri. Three years later, they squared off with Ultron before reassembling for a universe-saving fight with Thanos and his Black Order.

In Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, at least two new teams of heroes will do battle with Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. Beyond that Latverian dictator, there are countless baddies from the comics who have yet to make their big screen debuts.

Some of the characters listed here are relatively obscure and would be best served being supporting players; others, meanwhile, have the potential to take on a big bad role akin to the sinister foes mentioned above. It's all of them we're taking a closer look at today.

To find out which Marvel Comics villains we want to see in the Avengers franchise post-Secret Wars, click on the "Next"/"View List" buttons below.

Red X: The True Identity Of The Teen Titans Character, Explained
Image
"Teen Titans" is one of the best and most celebrated superhero animated shows ever made, one that, alongside "Avatar: The Last Airbender," helped change kids' shows forever with its anime-inspired look and engagement with subjects like disability and racism. It had character arcs that developed throughout each season, fantastic animation, and a tone that balanced lightheartedness with moments of gravitas and character drama. Plus, in essence, it was a show about teenagers. This last part is important, because the change from very episodic storytelling of the (still masterful) Bruce Timm shows like "Batman: The Animated Series" or "Justice League" to adding more serialized elements and character development paved the way for darker, edgier shows like "Young Justice."

Inspired by '80s storylines by Marv Wolfman and the late, great George Pérez, "Teen Titans" follows Robin (Scot Menville), the capable leader of the group; Starfire (Hynden Walch), an alien princess from...

Most Marvel Fans Missed the Introduction of a New Hero (& We Know What Team She'll Join)

This article contains spoilers for episodes 3 and 4 of Daredevil: Born Again, now streaming on Disney+.Daredevil is back and better than ever. After seven years away from TV, the Man Without Fear is once again making waves week after week with Daredevil: Born Again. The series is already drawing massive acclaim for its writing and character focus while also juggling the task of better integrating Daredevil into the greater MCU. After three seasons of what felt like isolation, it's a true joy to see Matt Murdock spending more time with the street-level heroes of the Marvel mythos, like White Tiger.

Hector Ayala, the first in what is typically a lineage of White Tigers, made his MCU debut in the second episode of the series, only to be killed the following week, leaving behind a mystical amulet and a lot of questions. His death was shocking, but even more surprising was...

Daredevil: Born Again Episode 3 Hit Fans With Another Shocking Death (& Now The Punisher Is Somehow Involved)

Quick LinksWho Is the White Tiger in Daredevil: Born Again & Why Is He Important?Did the Punisher Actually Kill Hector Ayala? The McU's Frank Castle Would Not Kill Someone Like White Tiger

The following contains spoilers from Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, Episode 3, "The Hollow of His Hand," now streaming on Disney+.

Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again brought back Daredevil after the original series was canceled, but it opened with the tragic murder of Foggy Nelson. While this led Matt to hang up the suit and billy club, seemingly for good, there are other vigilantes in New York City, including the McU's Spider-Man. Another hero, Hector Ayala (aka the White Tiger) also appeared in the show to represent these other New York heroes.

Out of costume, Hector tried to stop two corrupt police officers from beating a man called Nicky Torres. While fighting them, one fell onto the subway tracks and died.

Writer Deniz Camp has been reinventing the Marvel Comics universe, piece by piece, in his "Ultimates" series. Camp's Marvelous heroes reflect today's problems but remain true to their original spirit: a She-Hulk created through careless atomic testing near indigenous people, a Native-American Hawkeye fighting against environmental racism, a Luke Cage who organizes mass rebellion against mass incarceration, etc.

As "Ultimates" soldiers on, Camp is also launching a creator-owned science-fiction comic over at Image: "Assorted Crisis Events," penciled by Eric Zawadzki, colored by Jordie Bellaire and lettered by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. Even more exciting is that it's an ongoing series.

In "Assorted Crisis Events," the world is out of whack in a way it can only be in a comic book. It's all due to a favorite plot device of superhero comics, the multiverse; time, past, present, and every possible future are collapsing in on themselves.

'Daredevil: Born Again': The White Tiger Explained
Image
Daredevil: Born Again arrived on Disney+, ushering in a new chapter for the Man Without Fear on Disney+. While Daredevil is the star attraction, the series continues the tradition of the Defenders Saga by bringing in another street-level hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whereas Daredevil Season 2 introduced The Punisher and Elektra, Daredevil: Born Again's two-episode premiere introduces The White Tiger.

Created in the 1970s, White Tiger has a long and complex history within Marvel Comics, as five people have taken on the mantle. Daredevil: Born Again introduces audiences to Hector Ayala, played by the late Kamar de los Reyes. While it is still early in the series' run, with the character only seen in action in a piece of news footage and the suit being alluded to, the introduction to White Tiger implies some significant story developments that could play out in the MCU. This two-episode premiere could...

Marvel And DC Comics Confirm Plans For Marvel/DC And DC/Marvel Crossovers Later This Year
Image
Marvel Comics and DC Comics will finally come together this year for a new crossover event. Announced at this week's ComicsPro retailer expo, Marvel and DC's respective editors-in-chief, C.B. Cebulski and Marie Javins, jointly announce the team-up.

We don't have artwork, creative team details, or a more definitive release date than later this year. However, it's been widely reported that we're getting at least two one-shots: Marvel/DC and DC/Marvel.

Time will tell whether these stories will be in-continuity but they may set the stage for something even bigger down the line. Bleeding Cool was on hand at the event and shared the following:

"Another crossover, a modern crossover, are you up for it?" asked Cb, turning to the retailers, "What do you think?" A large appreciative cheer led him to reply, "I guess we have no choice but to do this." Marie Javins asked, "Can I make more...

Rumor: DC Studios' Teen Titans Movie Will Feature This Hero As Robin In Place Of Dick Grayson
Image
Last March, we learned that playwright turned feature scribe Ana Nogueira had been tapped to pen a Teen Titans screenplay after impressing DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran with her work on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

There have been conflicting reports about which characters will make up the superhero team in the Dcu, with the latest reports claiming it will be Teen Titans Go! leads Robin, Raven, Starfire, Cyborg and Beast Boy.

With The Brave and the Bold set to revolve around Batman training Damian Wayne, the likelihood of Teen Titans' Robin being Dick Grayson is low. That will upset many fans but, at this point in the Dcu's timeline, Dick is almost certainly Nightwing.

According to a new rumour, the plan is indeed for Damian to serve as Robin in this team-up. There's precedent for that in the comics and he's bound to have an interesting dynamic...

Many Superhero Movies Have Been About The Multiverse – But Only One Got It Right
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Back in the 2010s, superhero movies adopted the "cinematic universe" as their storytelling framework; like the comics, separate franchises with unique lead characters existed within a common setting and would cross over. In the 2020s, cape-flicks leveled up to the multiverse, where each past version of a screen superhero also exists and can interact with the current ones. It's all really an excuse for easy nostalgia plays and inside jokes, hence Michael Keaton showing up as Batman again in "The Flash." (Not that it helped the movie succeed.) Last year's "Deadpool & Wolverine" was similarly all about Disney buying out 20th Century Fox and discarding the latter studio's Marvel franchises.

For my money, only one superhero movie has used the multiverse in a way befitting true science-fiction rather than just picking and choosing favored action figures for a single play-set.

Quick Links White Tiger Is One of Marvel's Best Warriors Daredevil: Born Again's White Tiger Is A Stand-In

With the first Daredevil: Born Again trailer out, fans have been parsing through for clues as to what Disney+ has in store. The Man Without Fear is going to endure a crisis of faith, wondering if being a vigilante makes sense. Interestingly, Wilson Fisk is going to make that journey difficult, not as Kingpin, but as New York mayor.

There is one new vigilante coming to light as Marvel Studios throws Hell's Kitchen into disarray again: Hector Ayala, the White Tiger. The character is seen donning his iconic costume, but who is he in the source material and what does the Disney+ show could have in store?

Daredevil: Born Again Can Finally Capitalize on a Forgotten MCU Easter Egg
Image
Daredevil: Born Again is finally coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, in many ways, isn't leaving its Netflix era in the dust in favor of something new. Instead, things that were tied to the past greatly influence the present, from Harlem's Paradise to the return of villains like Bullseye. But there are also a lot of new characters and ideas that are making a debut in this new era of the MCU and street-level heroes and, one of the most important being White Tiger.

In the comics, White Tiger was the first Latine and Puerto Rican superhero created by George Pérez and Bill Mantlo with heightened strength and agility that made him a threat to villains and a hero on the same level as the likes of Iron Fist and Daredevil. Now, with Born Again, audiences will see this character brought to life with the help of late...

DC Comics Gains Ground As Marvel's Market Share Dipped Last Quarter: Report
Image
DC Comics is officially gaining ground, with its market share rising as Marvel’s share dips once again. What’s even more compelling is that this isn’t just a general shift in the comic market—it’s a direct transfer of power, with DC capitalizing on Marvel’s losses. This development is particularly noteworthy, signaling a dramatic shift in the industry’s dynamics that could reshape the competitive landscape.

...it’s the All In initiative—and the Absolute Universe that came with it—that seems to be driving DC’s rise in market share.

Marvel Comics took a significant hit in Q4 2024, with its market share dropping from 39.9% in Q3 to 33.3%. Meanwhile, DC Comics saw a nearly equivalent rise in market share and is now sitting at 26.9%, suggesting that Marvel’s loss became DC’s gain.

Doctor Doom Vs Thanos: Who Is The Strongest Marvel Villain?
Image
Goodbye Thanos, hello Doctor Doom. Ever since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox and brought every piece of Marvel under its umbrella, nerds everywhere have been clamoring for Doctor Doom to trade punches with Iron Man. Little did they suspect the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Doom, set to be the main villain of 2026's "Avengers: Secret Wars," would be played by the same guy as Iron Man.

The MCU is all about escalation, so does that mean Doom is an even greater threat than Thanos? If the Tin Tyrant dueled the Mad Titan, who would win?

I'm calling on my man Stan: "The person who'd win in a fight is the person the script writer wants to win! These are fictitious characters! The writer can do whatever he wants with them, so stop asking those bonehead questions!"

For example, let's look at "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" season 2, "The Private War of Doctor...

Can Wonder Woman Fly? Her DC Comics Powers, Explained
Image
Wonder Woman is the most enduring female superhero ever created, and though that idea may seem old hat in a world with characters like Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and all of her complicated legacy), Jessica Jones, and hundreds if not thousands more, remember that when Wonder Woman debuted in 1941's "All Star Comics" #8, American women had only secured the right to vote 20 years prior. Her character emerges from early 20th century feminist movements; her creator, William Moulton Marston, was part of those, and he wanted to inspire women to be their best selves and men to listen, if not submit, to them. What better way to deliver these lessons, Marston evidently realized, then by publishing them in children's comic books when readers are at formative ages?

So, in writing a truly wondrous woman, did Marston create the world's first flying woman? Can Diana of Themyscira soar like Superman does? It varies,...

DC Is Giving Peacemaker’s Vigilante Their Own Solo Series, And It Is Everything You Could Want

2025 is already shaping up to be an epic year for DC fans, with the upcoming release of James Gunn’s Superman movie, followed closely by the August debut of Peacemaker season 2. As a die-hard Peacemaker fan, it’s been a long three years of waiting for the new season. While John Cena’s Peacemaker is undeniably a masterpiece, I have to admit—he’s not my favorite character. From the second Vigilante appeared on screen, I was hooked. It's been the easiest fancasting in history, and arguably the worst-kept secret in CBMs, but it is official that Jason Momoa is coming back to the DC fold and will appear in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as the beloved anti-hero Lobo.

Jason Momoa has been officially cast as Lobo in Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow.

This is news that nerd nation has harped on since the hopeful renewal of Krypton: Season 3. Maybe earlier. In 2022, THR broke news that Jason Momoa had already met with James Gunn and Peter Safran to discuss "possibilities" about the alien bounty hunter coming to life and roaring along on prized Spacehog.

"Sources say the actor would lead another movie or franchise. The character of Lobo, a foul-mouthed cigar-chomping intergalactic bounty hunter, has been mentioned in connection with Momoa," Borys Kit indicated.

Superman Has Many Enemies, But Let's Face It: Ultraman Is On a Whole Other Level
Image
One of the few villains who has never made an appearance in a Superman film is Ultraman. With a new Superman movie coming out next year, rumors have been swirling that one of the main antagonists will be Ultraman, marking his first live-action appearance. If this rumor turns out to be true, it could give Superman the greatest live-action fight of his film career.

Because of the shifting nature and history of comic books, there have been plenty of different versions of Ultraman over the years. The first debuted in 1964's Justice League of America #29 by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky. This story explored the history of the very first version of Ultraman, who was markedly different from Superman. Ultraman was sent to Earth-Three from Krypton, for reasons not really explained, considering this version of Krypton never exploded.

Upon landing on Earth-Three, Ultraman slowly gained more and more power as...

15 Strongest Marvel Heroes Created by Captain America's Super Serum
Image
The Super-Soldier Serum is one of Marvel Comics’ most ingenious ideas with everyone from Captain America to Man-Thing having some history with the formidable formula. Over the years, many have tried to replicate this vaunted serum with results that range from inspiring to horrifying and everywhere in between.

And while turning scrawny Steve Rogers into the Sentinel of Liberty was one of the more notable applications of this serum, Captain America is far from the only Super-Soldier success story.

Codename: Bravo/"Richard" Created by Ed Brubaker & Steve McNiven

An ally turned enemy of Captain America himself, the enhanced operator known as Codename: Bravo was an old wartime ally of Rogers, along with Nick Fury and Peggy Carter, until a failed mission left him stranded in another dimension. While the results of his own Super-Soldier Serum variant don’t quite put him at Rogers’ level, he’s still twice as strong,...

There's a lot of buzz currently surrounding DC as James Gunn and Peter Safran launch the new Dcu with Creature Commandos next month. The animated series is the first of several projects in development at the newly formed DC Studios in an attempt to get the DC franchise back on track after the recent string of box office bombs and poor reception from films like Joker: Folie à Deux. The Dcu will look to succeed where the former Dceu failed, and the stakes couldn't be higher for a franchise with so much potential. Only part of the Dcu road map has been officially revealed, but there have also been projects that have come to light from reports, and one of them has...

Rumor: Marvel Studios May Be Planning To Introduce The Most Sinister Hulk Yet: Maestro!
Image
Arguably one of The Hulk's greatest villains is himself...well, a future version, that is. Known as Maestro, the bearded baddie was introduced in the 1992 miniseries Hulk: Future Imperfect by Peter David and George Pérez, and instantly resonated with fans of the Jade Giant.

In the comics, it's established that exposure to high radiation levels over the years increased Maestro's strength and intelligence; however, it also warped his personality, making him cruel and power-hungry.

In Maestro’s future, he emerges as the sole ruler after most of Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been destroyed by nuclear war. Unlike the Hulk of the present day, Maestro retains Banner's intelligence but is manipulative, merciless, and entirely unrestrained in his use of power. Wearing trophies from the superheroes he's defeated, the villain views humanity with disdain and is fully succumbed to his rage and ego.

Now, it sounds like he's on his...

James Gunn Highlights the Significance of Test Screenings and Shares Updates on ‘Paradise Lost’
Image
Warner Bros., which owns the rights to DC Comics characters, aimed to replicate Disney’s success with the MCU through their own shared cinematic universe, originally branded as the Dceu.

Despite having significant potential, star power, and some standout films, the Dceu was ultimately doomed due to a series of poor decisions and miscalculations.

Following a string of disappointments, Zack Snyder, the initial head of the universe, was let go and replaced by Marvel veteran James Gunn. Along with producer Peter Safran, Gunn took the reins of the newly rebranded Dcu.

Faced with chaos upon his arrival, he decided to start fresh and build a new fictional universe, with the first phase set to launch soon.

Numerous projects are on the horizon for the Dcu, many of which we’ve covered extensively here at Comic Basics.

One notable upcoming project is the Wonder Woman prequel series, Paradise Lost, which will...

James Gunn Stresses Out the Importance of Test Screening and Provides an Update on ‘Paradise Lost’
Image
Warner Bros., the company that holds the rights to the characters in DC Comics, wanted to replicate the success of Disney’s MCU with their own shared cinematic universe, which was initially called the Dceu.

Despite its great promise, star power, and some very amazing films, the Dceu was destined to collapse before its time because far too many bad decisions and miscalculated choices were made along the way.

After a string of failures, the universe’s original head, Zack Snyder, was fired, and he was replaced by Marvel veteran director James Gunn, who – with Peter Safran – took over the new shared universe, which was retitled the Dcu.

When Gunn took over the Dcu, everything was in utter disorder, so he made the decision to start over and create a new fictional universe, whose first phase would start soon.

Now, a lot of projects are planned for the Dcu, and...

DC’s “Bane” and “Deathstroke”
'Inspired' by the tens of thousands of convicted murderers and rapists deliberately released into the US through an open southern border, DC Studios continues the media’s glorification of criminality by developing a new live-action feature showcasing DC Comics drug-induced ‘supervillain’ killers ‘Bane’ and ‘Deathstroke’:

“…’Bane’ was created For DC Comics by Chuck Dixon and Graham Nolan, debuting in the title ‘Batman: Vengeance of Bane’ #1 (January 1993).

“Bane is a homicidal international criminal with a mix of brute strength and exceptional intelligence. Born and raised in the ‘Peña Duro’ prison on the Caribbean island of ‘Santa Prisca’, he served a life sentence for the revolutionary ways of his father ‘King Snake', then served as a test subject for the super-steroid known as ‘Venom’.”

“‘Deathstroke’ was created for DC Comics by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, first appearing in the title ‘The New Teen Titans’ #2 (December 1980) as ‘Slade Wilson’ aka ‘Deathstroke...

A Famous Marvel Movie Villain Used Wolverine's Adamantium First
Image
Wolverine has quite the mix of superpowers: enhanced senses that are more animal than human, rapid healing that makes him basically immortal, and a skeleton/claws coated in unbreakable metal adamantium.

Adamantium is now synonymous with Wolverine, but its origins go back further to an earlier publication: 1969's "Avengers" #66, published five years before Wolverine's debut in "Incredible Hulk" #180-181. Written by Roy Thomas and drawn by artist Barry Windsor-Smith, the issue kicks off a three-part story where adamantium is the weapon of a villain. Which one? Ultron, the Avengers' android archnemesis, who was played many years later by James Spader in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

"Avengers" #66 was Ultron's third major appearance, and since then he's generally been depicted as having a (near) indestructible form made of adamantium. If he's going to fight Earth's Mightiest Heroes, after all, mere steel won't be enough. So, how did...

Captain America: Brave New World Star Giancarlo Esposito Reveals Surprising New Detail About Sidewinder
Image
The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito was added to the cast of Captain America: Brave New World during reshoots. Following speculation that he'd been cast as G.W. Bridge, the actor was finally confirmed as Seth Voelker/Sidewinder at last month's San Diego Comic-Con.

The character is best known for leading the Serpent Society, a group of technologically and genetically enhanced villains who may or may not have been cut from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier follow-up.

In the trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, Sidewinder looks more like a paid assassin or mercenary than anything else; however, Esposito shared some intriguing new details while appearing at Fan Expo Chicago this weekend.

He described Sidewinder as "a scientist [and] a great mind," teasing, "You will see me do things that you've never seen me do before."

In the comics, Voelker is portrayed as a criminally minded businessman rather than a...

Daredevil: Born Again Footage Reaction: Matt Murdock And Kingpin Go Full Michael Mann's Heat [D23]
Image
It's been a bit of a rocky ride for fans of the Man Without Fear, better known as the Marvel comics hero Daredevil. It all started with a rather disappointing big screen outing in 2003 with Ben Affleck playing everyone's favorite blind crime-fighting lawyer, then a rather spectacular Netflix series that ran for three seasons starting in 2015, starring Charlie Cox as Daredevil. Unfortunately, the Netflix Marvel shows came to an end and it looked like that might be the last any of us would get to see of the character, but then the MCU scooped him up and changed the character's whole on-screen trajectory. Cox's Daredevil had a brief appearance in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and appeared in the Disney+ series "She-Hulk," preparing audiences to dive back into the seedier, darker side of Marvel before "Marvel's Echo," which set the stage for "Daredevil: Born Again."

Who Is Sidewinder? Giancarlo Esposito's Captain America: Brave New World Villain Explained
Image
When we first learned of plans for Captain America: Brave New World to feature The Boys star Giancarlo Esposito, speculation immediately started running rampant about who the actor might be playing.

Reportedly added during reshoots, we first caught sight of Esposito on the movie's set; those photos provided few clues and even the teaser trailer failed to clear anything up. Rumours he'd been cast as Bushmaster or G.W. Bridge soon started swirling but those were proven false at Comic-Con.

We now know that The Mandalorian and Breaking Bad icon is playing Sidewinder, a relatively obscure Captain America villain who will seemingly target Sam Wilson. In this feature, we've rounded up everything we know about this version of the character along with an in-depth look at his comic book history.

Kevin Feige on the possibility of a Marvel vs DC project
Image
Crossovers happen frequently in the world of comic books, but it’s far more rare that we see characters from different companies teaming up (or facing off). In the years since the birth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe, fans have been wondering if they would ever get to see a proper Marvel vs DC movie. The chances are slim, but it’s something Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige does think about.

“I think about it occasionally, like any fan would think about it,” Feige told Collider during a recent interview. “I don’t know when in the heck that would ever happen, or how that would happen. But we’ve been talking too long for me to go, “Never! We’d never be able to do that.” We’ll never say never, but no, no plans. I’ve seen the paparazzi shots of the Superman set looking cool.
