Joseph Conlan, William Hope, Yisrael Ringel, Tibor Takács, Kes Bonnet, Joe Plenys, Joseph Farruggia, Dustin Warburton, and David Lobato in Spiders (2013)
Joseph Farrugia is an award winning veteran screenwriter with an impeccable track record of profitable films across a variety of genres. He holds the rare Hollywood distinction of being able to boast a perfect record, in that every one of his movies has been profitable.

An Alumni of Bard College where he was a recipient of the prestigious Maya Deren Filmmaking Scholarship, Joseph also privately studied the craft of writing with Sloan Wilson, author of the literary classic "The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit".

Joseph's entree into Hollywood came via the legendary producer and Lifetime Achievement Academy Award winner Roger Corman. While working with Roger Corman, Joseph wrote the films "Baby Face Nelson" which co-starred Academy Award winning actor F. Murray Abraham as well as the gritty thriller "Born Bad".

As a Script Doctor, Joseph has worked for a variety of companies such as HBO, Dimension Films, Capital Arts, Saban Entertainment, and Millennium Films. Joseph's most recent film is the foreign Box Office hit Spiders 3D which stars Christa Campbell, Patrick Muldoon and William Hope.

Directed by Tibor Takacs, Spiders' 3D won Best Native 3D feature film at the Los Angeles 3D Film Festival where it beat a film produced by his mentor Roger Corman, as well as the Weinstein brothers before going onto reap foreign box office gold by attaining the number one box office spot in a number of territories throughout Asia and the Middle East.

Spiders 3D was produced by Avi Lerner, who is recognized as one of the most experienced, prolific, and successful independent filmmakers of all time. Lerner also boasts a lengthy list of profitable films such as The Expendables, Leaves of Grass, Rocky 5, Conan the Barbarian and Olympus Has Fallen, in a filmography of over one hundred profitable films.

As an accomplished musician, as well as a screenwriter, Joseph Farrugia is descended from a family steeped in the musical tradition. Joseph's great grandfather Theodore Randazzo wrote the song "Randazzo's Ragtime Band", before selling it to Irving Berlin in 1911 where it was released as the retitled classic " Alexander's Ragtime Band". Joseph's cousin Teddy Randazzo is a member of the Songwriter's Hall of Fame for penning hit songs such as "Goin' Out of My Head", "It's Gonna Take a Miracle", "Pretty Blue Eyes", and "Hurt So Bad". Joseph's father Frank Farrugia is an accomplished singer who also penned the lyrics to the hit single "Sorry, I Ran All The Way Home" for the Impalas in the nineteen sixties. Joseph's grandfather Louis Maione was uncle to Gia Maione who sang with, and was married to, the legendary Louis Prima until his death.

While at Bard, Joseph played bass with an early incarnation of the legendary band "Beastie Boys" that included Adam Yauch (MCA) and Adam Horovitz (Ad Rock). As a Jazz / Funk bass player Joseph had little interest in the Beastie Boys' raw punk/ rap sound, eventually loaning his bass to his dorm neighbor Adam Yauch, and then giving him his first bass playing lessons.
