Cory B. began working freelance in virtually all crewing capacities in the television & film business while still an undergraduate in 1999, placing special focus on the craft of lighting & cinematography. Also while an undergrad, he had the great opportunity to learn from some of the very best crew & technicians in Los Angeles. Mr. Clay received a student Emmy Award for a music video while completing my studies at Webster University in Saint Louis, Missouri. After graduation he went full time as a freelance Cameraman, assisting & Camera Operating on Commercial, Feature Film & Television Production in the Midwest. He received a Telly Award for documentary work at KETC in St. Louis, now the Nine Network for Public Media.
In 2002 Mr. Clay relocated to Los Angeles & began to enjoy an excellent career as a Cameraman there. In 2007 he became a full time Director of Photography. Cory photographed a long list of great television programming; including American Idol & So You Think You Can Dance, while continuing to support independent cinema as a Cinematographer as well. He received 3 Best Cinematography awards for the short film "Persona" in 2008. I continued to work in Television & Feature Film with clients such as A&E, Discovery, MTV, CMT, Warner Brothers, Universal, NBC & CBS.
In 2009 Mr. Clay began a Commercial & Branded Entertainment career as a Director/ DP, with the agency TBWA Chiat Day & Nissan for the Zero Emissions Nissan Leaf Vehicle. This was a break through ad campaign as his colleagues & Mr. Clay pioneered the art of branded entertainment & social media video marketing. Since then, he has gone on to photograph brands such as Adidas, Toyota, Pedigree, Dominos, Wendy's, Vectra Pet and Trifexis.
In 2011 Mr. Clay opened an equipment rental house and creative production agency in Nashville, TN; House of Motion & The Jukebox Romeos. Those companies continue to grow, and both have already worked with artists such as Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Kid Rock, Blackberry Smoke, Luke Bryan, Shooter Jennings, Sturgill Simpson, Sam Hunt, Jason Aldean & Keith Urban.
2017 has been an epic year. Mr. Clay photographed the number one highest rating car build show to have aired on the Velocity Network/ Discovery, "Speed is the New Black". Very recently, "Leah Remini: Scientology the Aftermath" received an Emmy for Outstanding Documentary Series.
