Kerry Washington has high hopes for HBO's Confirmation. Premiering Saturday, Confirmation stars Washington as Anita Hill opposite Wendell Pierce as Clarence Thomas and details the explosive 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearings (at which Anita Hill testified) that brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way people think about sexual harassment, victims' rights and modern-day race relations. HBO is beefing up the cast of its political drama Confirmation by adding Jennifer Hudson and Greg Kinnear.

The Rick Famuyiwa-directed television movie dramatizes the scandal surrounding Judge Clarence Thomas's (Wendell Pierce) nomination to the Us Supreme Court.

Kerry Washington will star in Confirmation as Anita Hill, who accused Thomas of sexually harassing her when they worked for the Department of Education.

The Hunger Games star Jeffrey Wright will play Hill's legal counsel Charles Ogletree, while Kinnear has been cast as then-senator and now-us vice president Joe Biden.

Hudson will appear as Hill's co-worker Angela Wright, whose statement about the sexual harassment allegations had a major impact on the outcome of Thomas's nomination.

Also joining the cast is The Americans star Alison Wright as Thomas's wife Ginni, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet was previously confirmed to be playing Republican lobbyist Ken Duberstein.
